Soloing Dungeons (Undersized)

is there a list somewhere of solo-able dungeons as of 4.2x?

I started revisiting lowbie dungeons due to the Fashion Report, but I've also picked up the anima quest again. I got curious about ARR and HW dungeons because I've never explored most of them until now, and I missed a lot of loot too (just got my baby opo-opo! ;))

- it seems all dungeons until 57 (the Vault) are a cakewalk as long as you're well-geared
- I haven't tried Gubal but people have solo'ed it, so there's that
- as for lvl 60 I've only cleared Saint Mocciane's myself and it was relatively slow (with my skill level as RDM, not surprising)

any input on the rest of the lvl 60 dungeons? TIA :D

Sohm Al Hard, Sohr Kai, Gubal Hard, Neverreap and Lost City of Amdapor Hard are best soloable lvl 60 dungeons. Soloing them at lvl 70 is more recommended. The best jobs to solo these places are: RDM, PLD, WHM and SMN. All of them, cept for SMN, has healing spells and good dmg mitigation. SMN has Titan-Egi for tanking so it makes it viable.

Lost City of Amdapor (lvl 50) is impossible to solo if you don't have some way of leaving behind an aoe dot, or an oGCD that can one shot the first boss's belly.

Same with The Aery, if you don't have a way to deal with Nidhogg's sable price mechanic or aren't able to dps him fast enough to push past that phase.

I haven't tried lost city myself but as SMN doing anima quests I was able to complete The Aery by pushing out my dps to skip the sable price phase. it helps to have Bahamut ready before you enter. for other jobs, I can imagine it would be more difficult. but it seems with certain stats almost anyone can solo <60 dungeons easily. but alas, I don't crunch numbers so I can't contribute on that.

just run as a tank and you can solo pmuch any dungeon unsynched including coil and extreme ARR trials.

By the end of the HW cycle i was able to solo all the level 50 dungeons on BLM. Lost City was the hardest because that stupid boss would always eat me, so i had to be a little lucky with crits and procs to have enough of a DoT on him to win before i was one shotted. I went through all the leveling HW dungeons in 4.0/4.1. Ive cleared Neverreap a few times now. Fractal has a boss that hits kinda hard for a heal-less me to get through(not that ive given up - next weapon upgrade ill be at it again), and i havent jumped down to try the next tier yet but ill give all of them a good shot eventually(its a project i work on when im bored - the "how much can i solo" project).

it seems PLD is the ideal tank for this endeavor, sadly I don't tank :P

Red Mage is my go-to for most solo content unless a boss has an insta-kill mech, then I use BLM to burn them down fast. However, the last 3 dungeons before SB are generally fairly tedious to solo without very good gear and intimate knowledge of the job you take.

I haven't soloed any of the HW dungeons and won't even think about it until I am at least level 70. Even then, I would want to be at a very high ilv. I have soloed every ARR dungeon that can be, as some cannot. Basically, if the boss has a mechanic that requires more than one player in order to clear the fight, then it cannot be soloed if your DPS isn't high enough to kill the boss before reaching that phase.

I've soloed dungeons as SCH, WHM, and DRK. I really can't say which is better. I simply adjust to the abilities of the job I am using. Surviving a wall to wall pull is different with a healer than it is a tank, but I wouldn't say one is better/easier than the other. However, bosses are more fun to do as DRK.

just want to share that I tried soloing sohm al hard but I couldn't as WHM nor SCH. couldn't get past 1st boss. granted I might be missing something with my techniques but I asked a friend who was a WAR to duo it with me and it took us 45ish minutes to clear. we each had min ilvl 340.
