Cutscene Playback and Screenshots

Howdy everyone!

I wanted to let all you screenshoters out there know that we are looking into making it possible to take screenshots while in cutscenes. As you may have read in the Producer Letter, the inns we are implementing in 1.21, will allow adventurers to re-watch cutscenes for quests that you have cleared already.

We will be giving the specifics on this feature on topics, so stay tuned for more info!

This is rare, usually we have to start the threads and ya'll reply to us :D

In any case, thank you for the info. I look forward to this feature and everything else 1.21 will be bringing us ^^

Camate is a special case.

Both Rukkirri and Bayohne have on many times started threads

I run the game through Steam, so I can already take screenshots during cutscenes, but I appreciate this addition! Thanks for the info Camate!

Can not like this post enough. I am VERY happy for this.

So cool... Hope you're talking about "clear" screenshots without chatlogs/tabs or dialogues.

I'm liking 1.21 more and more already!

If you're on Windows 7, you can just use the Snipping Tool that comes with windows to take screenshots at any time.

Cool thread, even though there are many ways of currently taking screenshots even in cutscene mode, this feature will be good for those less computer savy.

Also, you dev's need to make threads more often :D

It has been such a long time since I have done certain missions, and parts of the story have been forgotten to me. Just the other day I finally did the little ifrit quest and I was like "why are we trying to kill the primals again??" I have been watching cutscenes on youtube to refresh.

And we can use Fraps, but that's not the point... I've a feeling we're talking something something more integrated, like what we have already.

This is great I always wanted to re watch the cutscenes for the main story line... though I really hate the Ul'dah bard Thancreed... I want him to dieeeeeee *sighs* <_<>_>

By re-watch u mean re-enter CS just like the 1st time? So we can change gears and the change with affect the CS we rewatching right? That's would be nice, i will take lots of SS with different gears for sure XD.

Was this ever implemented? If not, will it?

It does sound like a wonderful feature!

Rewatching has in fact been implemented through the Unending Journey (did I get that right?) in your Inn room.
As for screenshots... No idea, personally.

Taking Screens of cutscenes has not been implemented. Most of us use outside programs, but you certainly can re-watch them at the Inn now. Screenshot folder locations customization will be coming in either 1.22a or 1.22b if I am not mistaken

I wish they also add movie recording function as well, some MMO does have built-in function for that.
