I like both the crest and rune-stones. I would pick one of those if it were up to me.

I like the idea from ff5 of crystal shards possessing job abilities. Name ? Who knows but something based around that would be cool

I think they should just be a unique item that changes per job. Like for whm it could be "Holy Materia" or some stone. For monk it could be "Martial Arts Belt" or something, you know what I mean though? Like each item is different.

Dress Sphere! Just kidding. I think we would need to know what the "stones" look like before we can put a good name together, but I like Job Stone or Job Crystal, since they are pretty easy to understand. Maybe "Augment Stone" or "Soul Stone", depending on the story behind them.

then each job has "stone of melodies"(brd), "stone of skirmishes"(war), "stone of convalescence"(whm), "stone of havoc"(blm), "stone of aegis" (true meaning of aegis[defense for those lacking in vocabulary] not just because its FF, pld), monk is hard, are they beggers, are they solitary, do they live in groups? I think if they go with a more eastern feel for monk it would be "stone of mendicancy" , if its a western style monk (lame) than it'd be like anchorite, cenobite or more commonly hermit, but this a video game using simple words is not fun, I like games which test my vocabulary a little bit, shows me they care about originality rather than just saying "stone of elements" something everyone will get right away.

I really don't think job crystal is any less boring than job stone, or any better than job stone just because it comes from FFV, in all reality stone/crystal its all bores and snores.
