This seems to be a mistake, that or they don't want people to resub for 19 days...
I just got a notification email that my auto payment will process on the second, so I'm confused. I know there's some CC law changing on May 1st, but if I'm locked out for almost 3 weeks I'm not going to be happy.
Maybe they are just saying we can't make changes to what card we have on file?
It gotta be a typo...?
I would like to get some more information from an official person.
Like my recurring payment is in the 10th so what they expect us to buy the credit payment stuff before the maint starts in the 30th? I just spent $900 on flooring today I wasn’t expecting to suddenly need to pay for my subscription 13 days early. Even if the sub cost is not very significant, they can’t just throw something having to do with people’s finances and payment systems out there three days in advance if it is going to effect such a long time frame.
I hope you’re right and it is some kind of mistake or they at least provide more information. If it really is 3 weeks of not taking card payments or accepting existing recurring payments this is something they should of provided notice for like a month in advance. I am sure they knew more then three days.
Greetings, alimdia!
Thank you for bringing this topic up. I had already noticed that this was unclear, and have requested changes to the news post to clarify it.
To help clarify things here, the disruptions during that time should be temporary and intermittent, so should not span the entire span of the maintenance. For customers who may encounter an error during this time, we recommend trying again later when the disruption may have resolved.
If the error is persistent over a long period of time, please contact the Support Center for additional assistance so we can better investigate the causes and look into possible resolutions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this maintenance.

Thank you for the update! That makes a lot more sense.
I actually have another question, if by chance my auto pay where to not clear due to an error it would probably process like there was insufficient funds and if I tried to log in it would say their isn’t an active account found, if that happens will something happen to in game housing? Or does a failed payment and it saying there isn’t an active service account not effect housing?
Housing isn’t directly tied to your sub (as in lapsing your sub won’t immediately demolish the property). You just need to make sure you walk into the house at least once every 45 days. If you have time left on the demolition timer you can let your sub lapse and still keep the house so long as you resub and enter the house again within 45 days from the last time you entered.
If it’s a personal house it has to be the owner who resets the timer (tenants can’t do it), but if it’s a FC house any member will suffice.
My question is about the automatic billing system. Will it also be disabled for maintenance at the same time? I'd really hate if the system automatically made several failed attempts to bill me, and the bank somehow saw it, suspected fraud, automatically charged back the 1 successful attempt and BOOM...account banned. I suppose the safest bet would be to make sure I manually make 1 payment ahead of the maintenance, but obviously not everyone would remember to do it / can do that. Just something to ponder and freak out about.
Is it really going to be over two weeks?! That's crazy, are we sure this isn't a typo?
Sadly, it isn't, it's the third party company that administers credit card billing on SE's behalf that are doing maintenance, not SE, so their hands are kind of tied at the moment.
As for how it would affect billing, my monthly reoccurring subscription just came up for billing today, and I got a 'payment error' email from SE saying that the subscription payment couldn't be processed (even though I have more than enough funds in my bank account to cover it), meaning SE's system is handling it how it normally would if I didn't have enough money in my account to cover it (I pay my subscription using a debit card). It just invalidates your card details on the SE Account system and suspends your subscription (it shouldn't cause a chargeback or anything).
So I think for this month I'm just going to try and find a site that sells EU region game time cards instead, as two and a half weeks to wait til this maintenance is over is a bit long (again I must stress this is not SE's fault, it's just bad luck).
Third party company or not, I must say that's a long time to complete a system maintenence.
Thsi was a typo?
I would recommend people just get Crysta for this month. That's what I did and change the billing to Crysta.

This link has na but I can't remember if I used that one (I'm EU).
