[My Own Historical Lore on Blue Mage in FFXIV]

- The Azure Lore was a sacred art, used by the Old Garlean Empire, that was designed by the ancients to learn and hone in on its attacker's style of combat; Blue Mages had the ability to manipulate the battlefield by shifting to its enemy's weaknesses and exploiting it to gain the higher ground. They can foresee the intent of their enemy, and judge accordingly, allowing them to not only Learn their foe, but also judge the next move.

But seeing how powerful this art was, the Supreme Emperor of that time period, tasked a new army, known as Judges, to seek, destroy, and kill those pertaining to art of the Azure Lore.

This caused the few remaining Blue Mages to flee the Old Garlean Empire and enter the domain of the Old World, Sharlayan; an empire outside the dominion of the Garleans.

Seeing this new knowledge and skill, the Sharlayan welcomed the Azure Lore and began studying their conjure, incorporating and engineering their own knowledgeable skills with the aetherial current.

After generations have passed and the Azure Lore began to phase away, the new Blue Mages, stringing forth from Old Sharlayan Aetherial Tome, have embraced the Correlation Tome; a knowledge of the combined force of Aether and Blue Magic.

And now, as the Garlean Empire is at its rise in power, the Blue Mages must return to bring the equilibrium back to the nations…

[Re-Introduction]

Building off the structure I had originally designed, and taking a few things into consideration: simplicity, button bloating, and the fundamentals of Final Fantasy XIV's tanking system; I restructured a few things to make it fit that "FFXIV Mold."

Originally I had the Blue Mage with dual swords, and then I changed it to have a powerful iron hammer. Yes... unconventional, but hey, I want a hammer!

*I believe Thor had something to do with that change…
*I do still have a double Falchion Concept, so if people would prefer him with swords, I can change it.

*It was also SO SO hard abandoning my roots from FFXI... seriously; so many good and fond memories from the Blue Mage in FFXI. But seeing how different FFXIV is I had to make a lot of sacrifices from this concept and go into the Blue Mage's original roots from previous games.

[The Correlation Tome Mechanic Explained] (And Simplified)

The Correlation Tome has gone through changes, the Blue Mage can change the Correlation Tome now as it’s a "Stance" Rather than it automatically shifting depending on the enemy being faced; that way it gives the player total control.

[The Correlation Tome Synchronization]

*This is part of the Blue Mage's rotation Mechanic.
* Went into a bit more detail, sometimes its hard to explain certain things without visually seeing it lol

In order to further enhance each “Stance” the Blue Mage must perform rotations with the correct Blue Magic and Weapon Skills.

A little further down there’s rotation examples, and it’ll have which Blue Magic Spells to weave alongside the Blue Mage’s weapon skill rotation.

*What does Synchronization Mean?

• The Blue Mage can synchronize its Stance 4 times, this means that after each Rotation, the Correlation Tome is enhanced by a certain percentage.
  
• *If the Blue Mage misses a combo in the rotation, or utilizes an Ability / Spell that's off the combo, the synchronization goes back to normal state.
  
• *So the goal is to continue the Stance Cycle >> Guard-Off >> and begin again to take advantage of the buff.

*The Tome begins to brighten its glow (The Book hovering around the Blue Mage)



-Blue (Default) sees the following enhancements:
*Blue is just his non-stance form.

• • Attack and Defense: 10% >> 11% >> 12% >> 13% >> 14% [Maximum]

• • Reduces Damage Taken by: +15% >> +17% >> +19% >> +20% [Maximum]



Now, the Correlation Tome Glows Differently:

• o Red: Attack Mode [Attack - / Defense +]
• o White: Enmity Mode [Attack + / Defense -]

So pretty much, his Mechanic is based off which Stance he is using. Blue stance is default, and has an inane 10% boost to both Defense and Attack.

Lastly, the stance being used has a “Finisher” Special upon executing the final chain in the combo, this “Finisher” is automatic; the spell is given by "Learning"

• After Executing Drakensfiend, the final Weapon Skill in the Combo, the following finisher occurs depending on the "Learning" Ability:

• o (Serenity) Stone Breath
• o (Rage) Fire Breath
• o (Blue) Bad Breath


* Bad Breath: Potency 220


• Additional Effects: Slow, Poison, Paralyze, Weight, Silence

• o Additional Effect: Increased Enmity

• (35) Correlation: Rage: [Instant/ 10s] Ignited with a Roar, the Blue Mage increases overall potency by 15%, reduces cast time speed by 10%, while reducing defense by 30% and increasing Magic Point consumption by 25%. All Blue Magic can be casted at will outside Combo with the Potency Bonus. Correlation glows Red.

• o Dragon Force: [GCD: 120s] Enhances Attack and Magic Attack for Party Members within range by 5%

• (50) Angel Whisper [Ability] [Instant / 240s] - Upon death resets the caster's HP to 25% of max HP at the expense of losing all enmity. Correlation Tome diffusion offset by 15s, Correlation Tome Stance delay 10s.

[Conclusion and other Fun Notes]

So this is my updated Blue Mage Tank concept; I enjoyed the groundwork for it and sort of simplified it, reduced its flashiness, and added some Tanky strategic elements to it too.

Also I took community feedback and feedback from my best friend; he told me sort of simplifying it and making it easier to comprehend is always a plus. Also adding some strategic elements for its Tank rotation would add another layer to strategy.

I also did more research on the Blue Mage, added some classic reoccurring abilities, and sort of gave it a “New Look,” but also keeping some of its “Classic” signature stuff too.

Forebode, originally was “Scan” “Scans target and anticipates its movements to enhance Shield and Parry Rate, but because of the Lore I tied in, I felt, him Foreseeing, I chose “Forebode,” instead.

Weapon Skills: I twisted some WSes around from Club skills from from FFXI, with the exception of Hexa Strike; also reworded some of the Polearm skills from FFXI, to incorporate them in a more “Hammer” like name, since being hit with an iron hammer might shake an enemy’s insides a bit… lol

Originally I had “Claustraphlare” be “Klimaform,” some of you might recognize Klimaform.

“Thorgen…?” Say what? Well, Thor? Hammer? Hammer Toss? Thorgen =D
I did part ways with the Dual Curved Sword combo; but that can always be a subject of change.

I love my good ol` classic dual sword look from FFXI. =D

I like it, similar to an idea I was having for BLU, better in quite a few ways actually. Gj :)

It's not my favorite iteration I've seen. I really don't like the idea of a tank wielding dual swords to be honest. I understand it has some homage to FFXI though.

Lore/theme is fine, not bad.

I really don't like the idea of Mimic and having to code in special abilities per monster. Not only that, but it is one of those mechanics that I believe sounds better than it really is. It'd be a pain having to memorize every single monster skill and it'd be an even bigger pain wanting xyz skill from a monster you aren't fighting.

I don't particularly like the shadow tanking theme and I think a lot of your abilities are overly complicated for the existing design schema. In essence, I think you're working harder than you need to.

Blue Mage (BLU)

Tank that wears lighter armor and uses a whip as a weapon with Blue Magic to bolster self and debilitate enemies. It does not use MP.

Core theme is tied to "enemy skills" and its job gauge is loosely based on the enemy skill known as Big Guard. The gauge starts at 100, and once activated drains down. You'd replenish/fill it by using weaponskills, oGCDs, and some enemy skills. Big Guard grants damage reduction and haste (skill/spell speed). You generally want it running all the time, unless its during downtime where you can turn it off to save the drain. This would be to implement a tank with a sort of active mitigation model (whereas now we have whats known as a "mitigation check" model).

BLU would have several melee combos with the whip that manage specific functions like enmity, Big Guard generation, damage, etc. In addition it would have enemy skills that are very short cast times with varying levels of defensive/offensive utility. Casting Spells/Enemy Skills/oGCDs would NOT interrupt current combos.

Some example defensive ideas:

• White Wind - Grants a shield equal to 20% of your current HP for 8s. If the shield is broken, you are instantly healed for that amount
• Death Force - Consumes current "Big Guard resource" granting you the effect of being unable to die for Xs per amount of resource consumed
• Bad Breath - Deals AOE potency, while also reducing all damage enemies deal considerably for Xs. To minor enemies it can inflict the myriad of status effects
• Dragon Force - Basically Sentinel
• Angel Whisper - Give a tank the ability to res, long CD.

Some example offensive ideas:

• Matra Magic - deal damage, gain enmity, very short recast, has a chance to reset CD on Aqualung
• Trine - Instead of like the O8S iteration, it could be a similar graphic, that is placed and repeatedly deal AOE damage, paralysis, and generates resource
• Beta - AOE, that puts a burning DoT on the enemy. Generates Enmity.
• Aqualung - Deals damage, generates resource, and places a puddle on the ground. Enemies inside the puddle cause Trine to deal additional damage and generate double resource. Bonus - graphic is larger when amplified by Aqualung
• Magic Hammer - deals low damage, but generates considerable "Big Guard resource" probably like a 30s CD
• Death Sentence - could be an effect like MCH's wildfire where it's placed on an enemy and doesn't deal damage, but accumulates damage done and then compiles it at the end. Maybe something like 60s CD. Alternatively - could be a combo with Death Force where you use Death Sentence like above, and it builds up a shield that you generate by casting Death Force

So the niche would be an active mitigation model, maybe give the BLU a little bit more ranged on autos/weaponskills due to whip, has unique utility in that it is the only tank that can res, and it would use fast casting spells frequently.

Just my 15 minute armchar ideas.

Trust me - I'm on your side with the complexity thing. I had devised an alternate combat system (a slightly faster, more synergistic, lower incoming damage) and to frame job design in that context I built a complete rework of the PLD job, replete with all skills (some new ones) and what levels their learned at (in effort to spice up low level gameplay).

The reason I mentioned the aversion to it, is because while I think the game could stand to gain an abyss worth of depth, implementing anything too far right of brainless, leaves it dead on arrival.

I see your point in regards to MEC and complexity but with such a hot job like a BLU I’m sure it will sway some people to play it!

Plus the rotation is that complicated, and the time correlation maybe be the only slight complicated thing in regards to that you get certain skills / spells from the correlation. But again to me it’s to reduce button bloating and to remove having to have 3 separate macros for each correlation

Is Machinist complex though?! I honestly don't know, all I did was read comments. However from the comments to me it seems that machinist is less complex and more a "perfectionist" that is all about doing everything in an exact, set order with an exact timing.

If that's the case then it's obviously not going to be played a lot in an MMO with all the lag and PING issues abound. Some of my skill pushes don't register, other do so with a delay. If that means that I cannot deal respectable damage with a machinist because I'll always be short a skill or two within the burst window, why would I want to play such a crippled DPS?!

I was talking to my friend yesterday, regarding the discussion about complexity and MEC; he said that the new Stormblood patch that it received simplified it significantly, and is nothing like how it was in HW.

I haven't personally tried it, but I'll give it a go someday. Not exactly into ranged DPS XD

Other than that, I did some tweaks to the Concept, and added the Correlation Bolster that is given after rotations and added a new example of a rotation. Thanks again yall! See you in game

Hey final fantasy XIV community! Finally updated this concept, this one took me a bit longer than my previous ones due to its somewhat complexity lol.

After wrapping my head around this, the first thing I want to say is, Magic Hammer OP. 450 potency, no combo requirements on the GCD. Just spamming that would probably be the most damaging thing you can do, granted, it probably would cost a fair amount of MP, but it restores 50% of the damage dealt, which means, the better gear you have, the more MP you restore, which means the more you can spam it. This is probably why MP restoration isn't tied to damage dealt/received, but a fixed amount on level, just so it's easier to balance.

Mighty Guard and Forbode, basically Paladin's Sentinel and Bulwark, but stronger, so I assume you would want the Blue Mage to be a defensive, which would mean weaker attacks overall, however, at a glance that doesn't seem to be the case and it seems it would be quite strong. I haven't done any calcs to say one way or the other though, so I might be mistaken.

Your 'tank invulnerability' (using it loosely) aka Hallowed Ground/Living Dead/Holmgang equivalent, Angel Whisper, seems really really powerful. 4 minute cooldown for an instant raise AND 1000 potency heal on everyone (in range), rough numbers, that's somewhere between 15-20% of a tanks max HP. Compare that to living dead, where, if you die and activate walking dead you need the equivalent of 100% of your HP to be restored so that you don't die. and that is on a 5 minute cooldown. It is a really powerful ability for such a short cooldown with no obvious side effects.

Next, your rotation, by the way you have laid it out, I assume it is all one long combo string (if not, it needs to be made clearer IMO which bits combo and which ones are the start of a new combo, just for ease of reading), if it is a long combo string, that is long, if not, I have obviously misinterpreted, however, your only attack that increases enmity for single target looks to be the learned Blue Magic spell, which is 8th in your GCD rotation. That is way too late to have an enmity building tool, plus, it's too weak on its own and you will find yourself having to rely on it quite frequently, or even, if something goes wrong and your Co tank dies, you have no way to effectively gain some snap aggro.

Now, I just want to tear apart this rage combo (Note, I will add indicators where I THINK combos begin and end, this also ignores Magic Hammer, which still out damages everything but the finisher combo) :

Now, to break this down, First, Shadow Claw, at 380 potency, it's a combo starter, yet, you can replace your first 5 GCDs with it and be better off. However, even better, since the last comb is the strongest, you could just spam that. If you need to do that whole long combo string to get the stacks, then, you get your 4 and you keep them. There is no point spending them as you will get more benefit holding onto them than if you used them, which means you can do the long combo 4 times, get the 4 stacks and then revert to the strongest combo, massively increasing your damage in the process. The problem here is that, you have no reason to use other combos. If you look at every other melee DPS/Tank, you will find every single combo has a reason to be used. However, you seem to have several combos that want to be the damage combo, when, that just doesn't work.

I have to stop though, because the more I dig, the more issues I see. I do research into one thing, other things come out. I started with the basics, is there anything that seems OP, I then moved into defensive cooldowns, being a tank, that is obviously important, which leads into tank invul, based on that I can compare to current tanks, see where you want it to fit in the defensive/dps side, then make comparisons on potency, and find more things that are stronger than others/make other things obsolete. I mentioned it in the 5.0 realistic job thread, but I do enjoy tearing ideas apart and I also mentioned I would prefer a general outline of rotation and what each combo does (if it has one) but don't necessarily include potencies (One last bit, if the rage combo is one long combo, the potency per GCD is 349, which means spamming Shadow Claw is your highest potency per GCD, not counting Magic Hammer, plus it has the benefit of healing).

So potencies are just sort of place holders; I’ll reiterate the combos later, due to lack of time at the moment, but each combo is tied to a stance; ive weaved the the BLU spells in between the Weapon Skills.

The effects the Blue spells do are only available when they’re in a combo. So there a normal potency next to the spell and a combo potency: the combo grants the additional effect of let’s say hp drain. So if you spam Shadow Claw it will be reduced potency with no HP drain. (Yes maybe 50% is a bit overkill!) I’ll adjust it.

The main perspective I’m trying to show is the more combos the player does the better the effects from the stance. Therefore rewarding you for keeping the rotation active. If you weave the wrong spell / or have to utilize an off cooldown spell it’ll break the chain therefore losing the stance bonus.

So the goal is to complete the 4 rotations “Guard-Off.” or you can risk to mess up the rotation and lose the buff

The only exception are the other 2 spells: 1,000 needles and white wind, both share a cooldown; something I didn’t emphasize. But they are quite powerful so they may get a longer GDC.

Enmity is in quite a few spells, abilities, and weapon skills; I’ll bold it on the additional effects.

Also, I stand to be corrected... I messed up when writing the rotation! I fixed the rotation to make more sense; I didn't have a 3rd rotation for Rage.

So now, the Blue Mage can get a total of 25% MP back from "Serenity" Combo and 25% HP back from "Rage" Combo. (I may have it backwards... I might shift to where the HP is given during the "Tank" rotation, and MP given to "Attack" rotation... ahahaha my fail.

So I'll go through it as if it was the ORMOA setup I work with:

For the Origin, the Garlean setup isn't too bad and more or less covers the bases for story components. The biggest hurdle would be the whole "Garleans can't naturally manipulate aether" thing that bars most of them from being spellcasters, and what ones Garlemald does have are typically from lands they took.

For the Role, I've always been on the fence when it comes to Blue Mage as a tank simply because despite looking like it'd have to be a tank, not only has it never historically been a tank, but less than half of all Blue Mages in the series learned spells specifically by getting hit (most of them just had to see the ability to learn it regardless of whoever got hit). I've warmed up to it slightly over the years, but I'm still convinced that devs would rule out the Blue Mage of XI simply because almost anything in that game could tank if you built it correctly.

With the Mechanics, you really shouldn't want anything more complex than Dark Knight in terms of tanking just because of the fact that tanks usually have a lot more to worry about than just their damage rotation. I'd also recommend leveling at least one tank (preferably all three) to max level in order to get a better understanding of what a tank in FFXIV should have.

On Outfitting, the hammer is an interesting touch, and surprisingly not that much of a stretch given past Blue Mages. However, between the use of such a hammer and the whole Garlean theme, this Blue Mage doesn't seem like it'd be that much different from most ideas for the Judge job you mentioned in the lore. Also, if it's going to use a shield, it does require a different way of taking advantage of it than Paladin does, but its current state doesn't seem to take advantage of blocking at all. In fact, it's a Blue Mage; maybe that tome could make a barrier for a shield instead of having to use an actual one. The sabers would probably fit more with the visual themes the job has had before, but so would a saber or cutlass and a tome for a visual offhand.

When it comes to Abilities, I mostly agree with Mikey in that a lot of things seem either overinflated, overly complicated by tank standards, or just outright overpowered. Angel Whisper would make more sense as something like a 15 second buff that upon death resets the caster's HP to 25% of max with a 3 minute cooldown, maybe longer. If you wanted a group heal, White Wind could be something like a 400 potency AoE heal with a 1 minute cooldown (putting it in line with Equilibrium). There's some other stuff too, but this all goes back to needing to level tanks further to get a better perspective.

The overall TL;DR: It's kinda interesting, but best to keep leveling your tanks before doing more adjustments. Don't rely on your tank friend, since however knowledgeable they might be, they're still not going to be able to give you anywhere near as much insight as you actually leveling your tanks to max and doing some higher-end group content with them.

I have seen what looks like a blue mage in ffxiv as last boss to a dungeon. Think may been temple of the fist. Boss to it used attacks learned from monsters.

Thanks for the feedback as always Kazrah, I did a few tweaks here and there with what you and Mikey mentioned; I also simplified the rotation a bit and added numbers as to when they appear in the actual rotation.

I was playing with DRK before my last break and I'll pick it up where I left off; my PLD is 55 I believe, and I'll be sure to play around with them a bit more after I finish the story scenario.

Changed the shield to a "mana shield," because it really wouldn't be much different it acting like an aetherial shield, rather than a physical one he holds.

Changed the ability "Forebode," to Manachanneling, that increases Mana Shield activation rate by a %.

Removed the Cure granted by angel whisper to something along the lines as you described.

So when it comes from "Learning" an enemy ability, to me, for something like FFXIV would feel like so much of a stretch. Even though most enemies use combos on us players like we do on them, AKA: Helldive, or some other random ability.

Would the dev. team go to that stretch to add an enemy ability from each enemy? I am not sure; maybe the coding might be a nightmare, even though in FFXI they made it look so easy... get hit by the ability, learn the ability (maybe)

I changed Learning to be in-tune with the Correlation Tome, so its learned ability goes off whatever stance the Blue Mage is in.

Okay, so I simplified the rotation; after picking Paladin back up for a bit, to play with it, I realized, that the Combo spread was OVERLY too long and very complicated; so instead, I did a Weapon Skill combo phase that leads to a Blue Magic Spell: SO : 1, 2, 3, (Blue Magic)

That also means now that there's 4 phases of Combos, with the 1, 2, 3, (Blue Magic) rotation; to get the Correlation Tome completely synchronized with the Stances: (Blue / Rage / Serenity)

Of course, Blue Stance (Default) is the quickest to Synchronize, since it can utilize any combo of spells. While the other two require only certain spells.

Again, had to play the one of the jobs to visualize it lol; I do apologize if it seemed overinflated.

Here's the new Combo Examples I edited in the my main post:

Phase #1

So now the combo has been broken down into 4 basic rotations; the Enmity Generators will come from the 2nd Weapon Skill and the Blue Magic Spell; of course, you can weave, a Hammer Toss in-between, or a 1,000 Needles / White Wind.

This is going to be a short one, but it seems you misunderstand the enmity problem. All tanks have a single target enmity combo which does decent damage, they aren't the strongest combo the tank has, however, the damage is still fine for the odd time you need it. Your enmity rotation has alot of AoEs and is weak. Noone would use it as that small amount of damage would not be worth it for the enmity. To put it into perspective, After flashing, PLD can spam a 110 potency attack, DRK goes between Abyssal Drain at 120 and Quietus at 160 (210 under Dark Arts), Warrior has Overpower at 130 potency with access to steel cyclone and decimate at 200 and 280 potency when they have enough gauge. As a comparison, PLD single target enmity combo is 150 > 210 > 270, much higher than yours plus, how easy is it to break out of the rotation to use an enmity combo in the first place? Tanks cannot be locked behind long combo chains that break as soon as they need some enmity, whether it's an overenthusiastic DPS or suddenly, boss adds etc.

The next thing I want to point out, you have 2 combos, one does MP and one does HP, Blue Magic uses MP (I'm assuming anyway). Hopefully you see the issue I'm seeing. The MP restoration is locked behind your tank stance, which no tank wants to be in if they can help it. If you say well, you won't run into MP problems even in rage, then I question, what is the point of the MP restoration in the first place? PLD has it so they can burn through it all in their Holy Spirit phase, DRK burns though even more though Dark Arts spam, however, both have ways to regenerate their MP in both tank and dps stances. It's counter intuitive to have the resource management locked behind a specific stance.

Last point I'm going to make, can you swap stances on demand, or is it locked behind using Goblin Punch (which is then locked behind Clautraphlare). that's a long time you have to wait to switch stances if you suddenly need it. Add onto that, how does that then affect your stacks, do you keep them, do you have to build them up again, if you can swap on the fly, what happens if you are mid one combo, say a serenity combo and swap to rage, would you have to start again, does it just swap what you can do etc.

The more I read, the more I think this could make a decent DPS rotation, 2 stances, one burns MP, the other restores it, lose the HP regen, add some damage and speed buffs, once you complete each combo and switch, you get a 'charge', get X amount, you can unleash a strong attack. It just doesn't seem like you understand why tanks are built as they are. Looking at your profile, you only have Red Mage at 70, which is probably why this does lean more towards a DPS rotation than a tanking skillset. Keep levelling those tanks, learn how they work, how each ability is used and ideally, you would need to use it in some harder content, sigma story is a good start, the alliance raids and if you really feel like it, the ex primals and savage. Get into the mind of a tank, improve that knowledge and have a better foundation to start.

First, still too complicated. You have the same start, but, dependant on your sync rate, you use different finishers, way too much to keep track of, maybe even for a DPS. You also have enmity moves on all combos, that's a big no. No tank will use an enmity combo for DPS, basing this off level 70. Reason being, as an off tank, you shouldn't need to generate enmity, which can be detrimental. You will sneak up on the MT and eventually have a choice, take enmity or slow yourself down, neither of which is desired. There is a reason they made enmity combos undesirable to use for damage and even changed one of PLDs combo strings to accommodate that (Royal Authority used to combo off of savage blade, if you were wondering).

I also don't see the point in 3 stances. I understand you are trying to make a balanced one, however you will see either rage, or blue. Serenity sees too much loss for too little gain to use it over blue even in defensive situations.

Phew~ !! Okay, so I did quite a few changes after reading some feedback and yours; here's some brief explanations and the changes:

They don't really have 3 stances, the Blue Mage Default without "Rage / Serenity" just benefits from the Correlation Tome Synchronization. Sort of like Shield Oath on PLD, get some Enmity, Shield Oath off, and begin rotations etc.

• So you can play like this: Serenity >> Build Up Enmity >> Guard-Off >> Default or go into Rage, DPS a bit, then Guard-Off, Default again do an Enmity Combo, etc.

• *Goblin Punch is now the Blue Mage's "Stun" ability

1. *Thorgen is their Shield Lob / Unmend * So pretty much, the Blue Mage opens with Thorgen

• Serenity Combo is now their Enmity Stance / Tank Stance (Did some adjustments to greater decrease the DPS output)

• Manachannel: Increases Mana Shield activation rate and grants a period of MP Regeneration

• Magic Hammer can now be casted with MP restoration Combo and restores MP to total damage dealt. This is be their Syphon Strike / Riot Blade combo
  
• MP Combo: Clautraphlare >> Upward, Downward Break >> Stardivider (10% MP Restore) >> Magic Hammer (15% MP Restore)

[Regular Ol' Blue Mage]

So pretty much utilizing the Blue Mage (Default Mode) is the best thing to do after "Guard-Off," "Guard-Off" Removes the stance inflicting AoE damage and lets the Blue Mage either stick to Blue stance, then use the Enmity Combo, or shift to a new stance (Rage / Serenity).

• *The purpose behind the stances are for their Guard-Off Buff; either give Party Members a damage mitigation with Serenity, or give them an attack bonus; of course both share a 120s GCD so it can't be taken advantage of.

Changed the following:

• Rage Stance now has Magic Hammer for MP Absorption
• Serennity Stance now has Lifebreak for HP Absoprtion

Enmity:

[Thorgen 120 >> Screech 80 (AoE) >> 1,000 Needles 260 (AoE) >> Acid 120 (AoE)] Would be the Blue Mage's equivalent to: The PLD / DRK/ WAR flashing, PLD can spam a 110 potency attack, DRK goes between Abyssal Drain at 120 and Quietus at 160 (210 under Dark Arts), Warrior has Overpower at 130 potency with access to steel cyclone and decimate at 200 and 280 potency when they have enough gauge etc. [I'll adjust potencies to better equate to the other Tanks overall potencies]


I'll go into the concept and continue to polish it up as I continue to play with the Tanks throughout my playthrough in the coming weeks.
