Daily Map Rotation for Frontline coming with 4.3! (Thanks, SE)

The lastest Live Letter confirmed that Frontline will be getting a daily rotation system with next major patch. Now, what isn't clear is how the rotation will work. Meaning, will all maps be available to queue for while one map have a bonus over the others or will only one map be active?

I'm much in favor of this. The rotation system is a good way of making sure that old maps doesn't die when new maps are added (like that new Seize map Yoshida confirmed is coming).

I really hope this leads to more 72-man matches, especially with Secure.

Yeah been waiting for this forever.

Even though I'm not a huge pvp guy this sounds interesting. Especially for the People that try to go for the map specific achievment gear like the field commander set and the "old" ADS mount.

The black and red ADS mount is shared across all maps. The white and blue variant is exclusive to Shatter. Just wanted to point that out.

Finally! I wouldn't mind if maps were enforced, aka only certain maps available in df.

Also, remove exp reward, or make it for victorious team onry (my point is: do something to delete the bots).

I would be really surprised if that wasn't the case.

It would also be a very good idea to bring back Slaughter alongside the rotation system. Whenever Borderland Ruins is active in the rotation, it could a 50/50 chance if it's Secure or Slaughter each match.

Just saw in the Live Letter Digest that the Borderland Ruins (Secure) will see map improvements and rule adjustments.

What changes would people like to see with Secure?

The biggest problem I have with Secure is the big node that spawns in the middle of the map. They really need to change it to the way ice works in Shatter where points are distributed based on the amount of damage each team did instead of giving all of it to one team. Of all the Secure matches I have done, 9 times of 10, whichever team gets the node ends up winning the match. Not much room for the other teams to make a comeback after that.

Increase the points you get from bases with each tick from 1 to 2. 24-man matches specifically. In 72-man matches you have more bases to control that can give you more points.

I would rather play slaughter than secure. Secure is most boring frontline imo. I think they are gonna put battle high/killing streak system into it.

Secure is missing the high/fever component.

They're gonna need a whole lot more than a map rotation to get me playing pvp again. Tired of bots, afkers, players who don't try because "it's pvp lol." just tired of it all.

One thing is certain. They will make Secure more like the other maps. They will reduce the time limit and generally speed up the matches.

The Battle High/Fever buff is most likely to be added just because it's the only map that doesn't have it.

Well wouldn't it make more sense to bring the slaughter mode back, which had battle highs if I remember correctly

Its that way because the map uses shared LB (high/fever is linked to adrenaline/personal lb). They made it that way because they didnt want to see teams of 8 melee mass limit breaking the big node when it spawns. Not saying I agree with it. Personally I think its obnoxious because inevitably someone who doesn't know/doesn't listen/doesn't care wastes your 2 bars before the node is up. Not to mention having a decaying limit break bar (yes, it decays when nobody is in combat) doesn't agree with the frontlines meta "let them fight lulz" and GLHF convincing anyone that mantra is incorrect.

Whatever though, lol at this point ill be happy if the rotating maps arent filled with bots. Hopefully they stick to shatter /knock on wood.

Actually, you do have a personal LB in Secure and have since they adjusted it for 4.0... Battle High/Fever have just been absent for whatever reason. :( Maybe the adrenaline accumulation increase you get from it was considered too powerful for that mode, because of the large drone, like you said, with the potential for melee LB abuse on it.

I agree, though, I'll be happy to play Secure and Seal Rock if for no other reason than those modes being less bot-friendly!

It would be pretty unbalanced if the current Secure had the Battle High/Fever mechanic. The point accumulation from bases are so low that people would ignore them altogether. All three teams would be at the center the whole match and try to build as many Battle High/Fever buffs as possible in order to dominate the DPS race on the big node. Again, unlike the ice in Shatter, you get all or nothing. It would be bad for both variants but even worse for 24-man. The big node has a bigger impact in 24-man than 72-man.

They could balance this by doing what I wrote in post #9 and making so that you lose points if you die, including bigger point loss if you had the Battle High/Fever buff.

Question I have is... why doesn't Feast have Battle High instead of Light/Heavy medals? O.o
