Maybe if they added another NM that needed much more challenging conditions to spawn(kill X number of enemies from groups A,B,C and D within Y minutes - groups A, B, C, and D are spread around the map causing you to need to coordinate with people and you only get credit IF you kill Z number of enemies before the spawn - little extreme, but you get the idea)
This is a cool idea.
What do NM Fates have to do with hunts? Maybe if later on they implemented a hunt system in Eureka I could believe that, but fate NMS? really?
Unlike hunts in the overworld, NMs in Eureka do not have "classes" (B-Rank, A-Rank, S-Rank) and therefore do not fit into the framework for these achievements. First they would need to classify each NM with these, which I don't think fits with the way they're designed. Also, it would completely undermine the whole idea behind the hunt achievement since its meant to be a long-term goal. Everything in the game can't be instant gratification, if it were then you'd play a week and be done...
At the very least, I'd like to see them tone down the number of A and S ranks needed to get the hunt mount. I mean, for the love of Halone, I know someone who is VERY active in hunts and has been hunting since 2.x and still hasn't gotten the darn thing. That's insane.
I think people's issues are not with The Hunt itself, but rather the fact that there's third party software that calls out a hunt on its "radar" if you are in that zone. People who use these things have a significant advantage over others, and sometimes they laud that advantage to the point where no one else can participate in killing the monster.
It should be a separate achievement for Eureka or none at all. The Hunt is something else.
This defeats the entire purpose of those achievements. NM have significantly easier spawn conditions. In fact, if we do a little napkin math...
24*3/2 = 36
That is thirty six NMs for every one S Rank hunt. Even dividing that by a third means you'll speed through an achievement that would otherwise take possibly years.
This, I'd rather not devalue people who have years worth of time spent getting those achievements also the way NMs have a fate-like system attached rather than a normal hunt tells you this wasnt intended, achievements are the only truly grindy thing left in the game, id rather not lose that please?
I'd rather that they would count towards the FATE achievements since we're running so many glorified boss FATEs in Eureka, but, sadly, we aren't event getting that.
I disagree, but I do think NMs should count for their own achievements/mount.
I’d much prefer for the Diadem NM achievement to be merged with Eureka (I believe there was some talk about this before, maybe? but I’ve never heard of anything concrete other than comments from others), because I would really like the “Notorious Monster Slayer” title, but Diadem is deader than a doornail... Or have another section of NM achievements for Eureka with titles.
NMs and Hunt marks aren’t really synonymous, so I don’t think it’s fair for NM kills to be granted towards, say S-Rank or A-Rank kills.
While I don't think every Eureka NM should count towards it, I think it'd be a good idea to have Pazuzu and Lamashtu count towards the S rank achievement, and possibly have Amarok and Fafnir count towards the A rank achievement. This might give some incentive for groups to actually spawn Lamashtu/Amarok.
LoL... no.
As someone who is at 16xx/2000 S Ranks and 15xx/3000 A Ranks, Eureka NMs don't even compare to the amount of work and dedication required for "the Hunt" Elite Marks.
They are not the same thing, and shortcut isn't really needed. The tiger mounts requirements are static now that it's been implemented, and as further expansions are released there will be more S Ranks and A Ranks added and more opportunities to get those numbers of faster. Though I'd desperately like them to consider adding additional S Ranks and A Ranks to old areas that are set to the current level cap too.
However, I'm surprised there is not an achievement for killing NMs in Eureka already... considering there were a series of achievements for NMs in Diadem. An series of achievements for Chains could be interesting too, particularly if the final reward is juicy enough. Get Chain #30 1000 times sound too easy?
