Until Eureka I'd hardly touched it. Now I've got all skills down to muscle memory :) Anyone found something that works better? It seems all I do is RDM in here lol.

As a healer i'm definitely envious of that dual cast raise. I can get one Swiftcast Rez done every 60 seconds. I've stopped bothering to rez anyone else after that unless I got no RDM's in my group or they're dead. Everytime I try to hard cast a rez on someone else a RDM steals my rez :P
RDM has the advantage of raising more often than any other job, hence why it's used the most, not only that it's good for self heals and DPS.
I find Melee at a major disadvantage in the zerg, due to the way it's so laggy and you can't see the marker on the ground a good amount of the time. Even worse is Pazuzu fight, because of his skill that does the wind 3x in a row it makes it really tough for melee to get hits on him without getting KO'd in the process. I've always found RDM to be good in a party situation where you can raise if you're healer dies or you need it to raise over a healer so they don't expend MP from the raise.
Everyone is going for the Good Samaritan title, when I run on WHM I only worry about the party as a whole, or if someone is right next to me.
I tried to use Ninja once in Eureka.
I quickly switched back to casters.
That's why we got a barding as well.
Yes that's been obvious since day one. If you are going as a dps just do your party a favour and go as rdm
RDM Disadvantages:
-is a caster, so will magic aggro. Magic aggro has a huge range.
-can't stun, so as DPS you can't work with your party to prevent hard hits while maintaining dps.
-lunges aren't as useful as you think, especially rearward ones.
-only role action to restore MP. If you die a bit it gets rough.
-you don't actually need that many raises in a party.
I mean, it's great otherwise, but other jobs work well. the big issue is melee, which seems to suffer a lot in content overall.
RDM has the advantage of more than capable solo play. As a DPS job able to heal itself it doesn't need anyone else to get the job done. However, solo play is slower of a grind than group play. Despite that though solo players have a casual friendly job in RDM.
RDM for the win, I am practically spending 90% of my time rezzing people during NM fights... if I am not dead myself.
I've tried so far; RDM, SCH, SMN, and MNK all in Eureka. SCH is my fave and I have out Selene rather than Eos. RDM was Okay but unlike having the fairy on SCH you do have to stop DPS in order to heal quite often and no decent mana-regen. SMN was only viable in a party and MNK not viable at all especially due to the large differences in difficulty between fates so alot of 1-hit KOs were suffered.
You don't heal yourself when soloing, you buy lots of anemos potions instead, and only heal when you get a spike damage attack. The potions actually heal a lot, and you can devote time to dpsing.
RDM may as well have been custom built for Eureka.
DPS not dependent on DoTs that may not register on NM? Check.
Off healing? Check.
Rapid rezzes? Check.
Life-saving crowd control? Check.
I am a rdm/brd dual main and the rdm is awesome in Eureka but for some reason, I seem to play war a lot. Very survivable solo or on the NM train with self-healing to boot.

People drop like a pair of Shisui bottoms at the Quicksand. What hypercompetant Eureka zones are you part of?
We need a Field Medic title honestly. RDM exclusive. I've spent more time reviving than filling a DPS role so far :o
Don't forget bouncing off mobs using Corps-a-Corps and Displacement to arrive at the NM ahead of the rest of the train, and you can use Manafication to do this twice in quick succession.
