does any other RDM feel like a field medic in eureka

i decided to use a rdm in eureka because it can raise and heal. on many hard NM i find myself running around like a field medic in a war zone raising everyone lol

Yep. I main Samurai, but have played nothing but RDM since level 3. Sometimes on the harder fates (Fafnir, Cyclops) I get a couple shots in, hide and just rez people after the mass slaughter. That is, if the game didn't de-render them and prevent me from targeting their body.

Same but with drg. Barely see any melee DPS. Train groups usually have 5+ rezers. Many red mage and summoners dusted off.

P much this I main Sam but I have basicly geared my red mage with eurika gear Becuse that’s all I have been playing since it came out

After seeing Savage threads on how you're bad if you kill your DPS (And your mana pool) by Curing and Raising people, I love switching from DPS to emergency healer in Eureka and people being thankful for that.

I'm actually quite torn in which to main, Samurai or Red Mage. For now, I use Samurai for dungeons & Raids and I use Red Mage for Eureka. I have been raising a ton of people and already went up the achievement ladder and getting closer for Good Samaritan. The party I'm usually on has mostly casters as well.

My Red mage is currently living in Eureka to get my DRG weapon and gear. Will decide once I get 19/20 and get feathers and see how much longer it would take to gear the RDM. I really don't enjoy it there.

Yes, and I love it. Can confirm I went from 0% progress on any of the Good Samaritan achievements to 114/200 for Good Samaritan V in less than a week. Eureka has definitely reinforced my love for RDM's versatility. Against NMs many levels higher than me, which I'd do no damage to, I've instead been reviving people left and right. It's great to be able to fill two distinct roles so well and a great feeling to be able to help out those poor people who get merked in the middle of nowhere without a party.

YUP! When I join NM groups and they go to the high lvled ones that will murder me in one hit, I just sit back and watch to see how many ppl get slaughtered on the battlefield. If my teammates or someone close by dies, I verraise them with quick speed before the healers in my team could complete their cast for raise/resurrection.

However, I do salute the generous medic players that use their raises for low lvls like me (currently at Lv10); they could've easily ignore us because we don't have any business there from the get go, but they still rescue us from losing those experience points XD

yep, ive made friends with people just by doing this.

Also, dont underestimate how vital tether can be in Eureka.

It is not just Eureka but pretty much all content. I mean i do not mind now and then but when you are needing to raise the same healers multiple times in the same fight.. well.
People do not even leave comms so serious question do some healers take offence perhaps to Red Mages raising?

If they do they're stupid, WHM/AST/SCH should be focusing on healing rather than raising due to the way it eats up your mana, RDM on the other hand is a perfect way to use as a "field medic" since they can heal and instant raise until they have no mana left, then refresh and get some MP back.

Very true! Love the cheeky macros people make for rezzes, but before the text even finishes rolling ive rezzed them already, and im on to the next one.

I do that too. So I can not only get that achievement but also good karma. If I die on my way to an NM people might remember that I raised them and raise me in return!

heh, happens all the time for me. Its nice!

I did pazuzu at level 11 just to see what it was about. I basically hid and raised whoever i could... getting cheers and what not. An hr later when I died in the field i got like 15 people saying theyd come help meh
