Can healers please get more credit for raising people in Eureka?

It really sucks when I have to decide between raising random people or damaging the notorious monster in order to help my group get full credit. Maybe I've just been in bad groups who spend too much time dead or attacking adds rather than the boss but I've had quite a few times where we've gotten bronze or silver when I felt we should have gotten gold. Mainly when I don't have a full party yet. It's not my fault that I spend the entire fate raising people. Well, I mean it kind of is? I could just be an arse and let people stay dead......*coughs*:rolleyes:

Anyway, I think that if a healer raises a person who has done damage to the boss recently, they should get some credit for it in some way, I don't know. But it should count somehow toward what rating your group gets. It's honestly pretty rough being a healer in Eureka as it is... :( How I wish that my AOE heals could help everyone and not just my party!!!

I feel like I can't be the only healer with this problem either, since there have been so many times where I've seen a healer standing right next to a bunch of dead bodies and they just stand there throwing stone instead of raising people. Maybe it's because they're low on MP or maybe it's because swift cast is down. But when there are TONS of people down, even without swift cast up you can still get a lot of people up.

Yea, it sucks, I always wondered why healing wasn't measured like DPS when it came to contribution.

Uhm, it is. Fate and hunt rewards are based on enmity and healing generates a lot of it

This is probably harder than it sounds, because the math on contribution works inside your party. I mean, healers aren't alone on this. Killing other mobs that spawned or followed someone into the NM area don't add contribution either, but it's still helpful for DPS to kill them.

The best way to help yourself here is to go for a full party. That makes getting gold MUCH easier even if you burn some time ressing outside of your group. Plus, doing so is just plain friendly. :)

Make healers get a boost in their abilities for every person they raise. Muh hahahaha!

Toss out your Medica 2's and Regens or heal bomb people and you're probably going to be contributing more to a gold emblem than most DPS are. (Although you generate less... None at all? For Overhealing.)

(Edit: You either still do generate enmity, or even MORE for overhealing, which is 'good' for FATEs)

You can just get gold reward as long as you just tag the boss with a aero and then keep raising and healing non stop after that

Healing is but not raising since raising doesn't generate any enmity.

I have this problem even more so on RDM. I spent a whole Pale Rider getting rezzes more or less.

I love being a healer. I love raising people and helping others out. I don't mind that it's difficult. I just hate that I feel like I have to choose between helping others (what I am inclined to do as it is the reason I love being a healer) and considering my own goals. Anyway, to everyone else: It isn't as if I never get gold so I do get that it's not super pressing. But if you don't have a full party it can definitely be a bit difficult and I feel like a jerk if I leave a party simply because the leader isn't adding more people to it even if I nudge them to do so or if I ask for lead and they ignore me.... but maybe that's just me.

Just wish that raising could contribute as much as healing does. But in some fights I barely have much time to heal because I am literally 24/7 raising people. :I Can you say "sneks"?

Granted, I've only done Eureka for 2 days for a few hours each day. Maybe I've been super unlucky.

Overhearing generates double the enmity compared to heals that aren't overheals, iirc.

I would rather we just nix the idea of credit all together. Let's be honest, the current system doesn't stop you from leeching at all. Throw out a medica 2 or do a tank combo and you're set.

I'd prefer things like hunts and FATEs be more friendly to players. I don't think I'm along in hating when I'm 20 minutes into a 30 minute queue and losing my progress because an S rank spawned.

Overhealing absolutely continues to generate enmity. This is why you don’t regen tanks before pulls etc

You need to have the meta. To where all party members except the tank can raise.

Healing generates precisely 1.5x the amount of HP restored in enmity. This is true regardless of whether any portion/none/all of that healing is overhealing.

That being said, rezzes don't help you get credit on the boss. You can tag with an aero/etc and do nothing else and get gold, but this is because the rest of the group did the heavy lifting on getting credit. Which is fine if you've got a full group of 8 players. But if you're a smaller group of say 3 or 4, getting gold credit can be a fair bit of work. And rezzing, especially non party members who won't be building group contribution, doesn't contribute to that.

Yeah, this is basically what I'm finding. I don't really have issues in a full party of 8 but in smaller groups it's a really big problem. And somehow I always end up in these small groups where it feels like the leader gets lazy and doesn't want to add more people... and sometimes they ignore if you ask for leader too - but I also don't really want to be the leader since I don't know what I'm doing in Eureka yet and don't want to be the shot caller so I just kind of sit there like "Well then..."

But it just feels like... raising people is such a huge contribution here. I feel like credit should be adjusted to account for this... But I dunno, this is just my "it's 6am and I haven't slept yet" ranting. It's not like it's the hugest deal in the world but it would be nice, you know?

But I do have a workaround for you in the meantime: If your group is close enough, spam cure 3. If it's not, medica 2 to keep the HoT up, and spam some medicas. Use benediction, tetragrammaton, and so on even if no one needs. On rezzing people... Toss out a medica 2 (ideally boosted with largesse), pop off assize, asylum, benediction, and tetragrammaton, and some regens. Then start rezzing. Between rezzing, refresh medica 2 and the regen and just throw out whatever instants you have available again.

It's a bit annoying but it should hopefully help you ensure you and your party get full credit.

I get more salty when after everything's over, everyone yells "thanks RDMs!" even though I busted my ass on WHM rezzing/healing as well QQ

Lmao, I've noticed in Eureka the problem with healers is they are too busy rezzing instead of keeping people alive, so all they end up doing is rezzing.

Quite a few things oneshot people, and even when they don't, you often can't target hardly anyone, even your own party.

Yes, this is true, but when the tank is at half health and your priority is to hardcast rez a bard, I think something is wrong, and I'm talking when you're only with your party. When healing, even during the NMs I never had my tank disappear so much that I couldn't keep them up.

I guess it depends on the specific corcumstances... I've had this happen virtually every NM. Fortunately most of the time they aren't tanking much, but when they are...

No, you don't. In FFXI it was this way, because you could not heal someone for more HP than they were missing. In this game though, the full heal is always applied regardless of how much HP the target is missing, with the appropriate enmity to match.

There's a reason why AoE heal spam in a party is the most effective thing a healer can do to raise enmity for FATEs/hunts and the like.
