Because its one giant fate grind!
Ooooh I Love the original music! (I never played FFIII) How great would it be to have this done with an eerie orchestra theme using (but of course) wind instruments :)
Missed opportunity. How they miss this is beyond me.
The music that's in the game is extremely thematically appropriate to what the content essentially is (NM FATE spam) and IMO should not be touched.
I'd imagine this place doesn't use FF3's Eureka theme because this isn't actually Eureka; it's just a location named after it. (This is explained right in the opening storyline.) I imagine if we ever do get to go to the real thing, it will actually use the FF3 remix.
If there's anything we should have learned about the music in this game so far, it's that they loooooove their leitmotifs. A good chunk of the tracks in the OST are derived from tracks elsewhere in the OST. Hell, just about every piece of music you hear in a dungeon that isn't a generic battle theme is derived from something else, quite often the music from the world zone the dungeon is in.
The jingles that play at the start and end of a NM encounter are riffs from the FFIII Eureka theme at least.
I'm hoping that as Eureka is developed and hopefully expanded upon (Eureka Anemos as a name seems to imply that there could be more to it later) they might use the full FFIII theme in some form.
I felt a bit disappointed that only the theme of the original Eureka was heard in a jingle ... I suppose in the future they will do the song in orchestra. Although that does not mean that the current songs on the map are bad, they are also nice.
I like how it was named FFXIV OST - Eureka Anemos (Grinding)
Think of it as some sort of 180 hour Mega Fate.
I think I heard bits of FF3 Eureka music when first going to Eureka... Otherwise I've heard some of the music in Eureka is actually comparable to 1.0 music.
Also the reason they didn't use FF3 Eureka music while actually playing Eureka is it's a different Eureka. Perhaps if we see a Eureka more like FF3's it will have that music.
It probably will be on the second part, They did say there will be more than one. I assume the next stage is that castle we see.
It's also possible that there is a reference to FF mystic quest
Anemos crystals says that they are wind attuned and the wind guardian there was named pazuzu.
Wonder if the inaccessible tower at the center is the focus tower which was the cornerstone of Mystic quest world
Anyway we'll know if the next eureka final boss will be name after another mystic quest boss
I like the NM boss music in eureka, anyone know what it is called?
Honestly didn't even notice.
I knew it sounded familliar. Just couldn't place it.
Remember - this is only the first part of Eureka. It's the Wind-aspected portion of the island (Hence the name "Anemos" - greek for wind). You can see the Ice, Lightning, and Fire aspected sections in the distance from higher vantage points in the area.
Its very likely that the FF3 Eureka music will be used either for one of those parts or for the final part (which is likely the castle at the center of the island).
