Eureka...this is it?! This can't be it...

No, really...is this it?! This is what took so long to develop? Wack-a-Mob?! It'll only be a matter of time until this content is filled with bots just like Frontlines.

I can't believe THIS wasn't available day 1 launch of Stormblood. What is going on over there?

The mobs are pretty dangerous.
Don't think bots are going to just waltz on in and go ham.

^At least, not until some time has been spent getting them to Lvl. 20 which will take who knows how long.

I have to admit that I'm really disappointed that this is it. I expected substantially more to do and explore. I also expected the gear to be a lot better.

Were there layoffs we didn't hear about? I don't understand why this is so underwhelming after six months of hype.

I have no idea...all i remember is them emphasising that this game has triple the budget of Heavensward...

Triple the budget and it took this long to develop a Wac-a-Mob? 0.o

Bots just have to move in groups. They could already go ham if they know how to make them only move between certain areas. The only reason is why would they bot there though. It's not really gil farming material.

No need for bots, you can already see players who use their third-party hunting software inside Eureka (i suppose it's working the same way)

If you read the patch notes on XP it gives a hint that there will be more, Lv 20 is the cap and extar willa ccumulate towards next level raise, from what I can tell so far there will be plenty more.

There will be more... more wack-a-mob... once they add more parts the level cap will go up, which means more exp hunting...

It's the first of at least three zones and we don't know what the other up-grade steps will be like. So far though it's following the same pattern as Zodiace and Anima weapons with having the first major stage be grinding monster/FATE drops.

I would not be surprised if the next two zones are different with one requiring multiple items to be turn in/traded (gotten by doing NM) and the other requiring grinding with the weapon to accumulate points on it (again, from NM). The general flow of the relic weapon grind has been monster/FATE drops -> collected item turn-in -> lightgrind. We still have to see if the overall pattern is any different or not.

I do hope we'll get some alternative progression routes to take in future zones (gather/craft pls) but as it stands right now, I could go through this grind a few more times.(and reach like level 60 and completely wreck Anemos) :P It really brings me back.

I have the Failnaught +2 and looking for a link that explains what you need to augment it. NPC says: ask other players??? Update: nevermind, I found out.

I don't post often, don't think I've posted in many years, but I can't stay silent on this one. Eureka is, by far, the worst content I've ever experienced in an MMO and my friends and family seem to be done with the game as a result.

I have been playing MMOs for 15 years, including FFXI. I was a big fan of XI and was excited when I heard that Eureka would bring back some of those feelings I had in Vana'diel. Boy was I disappointed. Eureka comes off as content designed for FFXI fans by developers who have never, ever played FFXI.

It's like they took the very worst aspects of FFXI's gameplay...setting up camps, grinding placeholder mobs and losing experience for death...and left out EVERYTHING that gave FFXI charm and built the community up. Nothing reminiscent of skillchains or magic bursts, no calculated pulling, no group composition strategy. Eureka is just a mindless, spammy, carpal-tunnel inducing zergfest. It's FATE-grinding but far more cumbersome and punishing. Even as an idle-activity to do while watching Netflix, it's punishing enough in all the wrong ways to make it so you have to stay at least somewhat engaged in the mindless grind. It is pain and misery manifest as MMO content, literally the worst and most insulting elements of the genre melded together to create a truly soulcrushing experience.

I'm normally willing to be patient and wait for quality of life adjustments, but I think this is just too much for me to take. I think I'm finally done with this game, as is my wife and apparently many of my friends. We've been given less content in SB with promises that Eureka would make up for it, and not only has it not made up for it but it is tied to the relic weapon that, while grindy, at least gave us something to do with friends and PUGs across several different types of content old and new. I used to love this game. I have every DoW/DoM at 70 except AST. I grinded out a relic and anima weapon when it was current content. I lead an FC with dozens of on-and-off active members and have raided content of all difficulty levels. But Eureka is the nail in the coffin for this game, unless they rectify the situation immediately. Going back to WoW where I can enjoy fun and engaging content like Mythic+; content that actually encourages community development and is fun and changes weekly.
