... you have got to be kidding. Their solution to the constant complaints about healers being severely overpowered in PvP was to buff White Mage. They really are clueless.
I really hope that dinosaur doesn't fly. Or if they do just because lol flying dinosaur, it better be a better reason than "We draped a flying carpet over an elephant's back, therefore flight". It would still look awkward as hell while flying though XD
They usually release job adjustments in prelim notes yikes nothing about sam or drk. Im sure they are just waiting for full hopefully.
1. LOL only 2 Hildibrand quests.
2. Only FFXI elements in Eureka I see is (the Adventurer List, Exp loss if you die and aren't raised in time, and NM's)....and that's it. Nothing else. Lame.
3. PVP changes...wow. No "outside of PVP" job buffs... *sigh*
4. New Chocobo Barding looks bad. Can't even see my chocobo's face!
5. Judging from the notes...Eureka has bugs that SE didn't bother to work on before releasing. That's not a good sign.
All in all...not a patch worth writing home about.
here's to hoping Eureka RNG won't be too horrible.
Like which spot is the best for grinding our Elemental Level and which Elements are meta? :rolleyes:Quote:
Read on, and prepare to delve into the myriad mysteries awaiting you and your fellow adventurers!
Eureka sounds pretty fun, can't wait to try it. I like that classic roleplaying element system.
i already know how i am going to lvl in eureka with lots of flash spam to get credit on everyone else's kills :D

Wait... I just thought of something
...
The mount is a dinosaur...
-and people are worried about this being another Diadem...
omaigawd, is the mount a nod to Diadem 1.0's "Dinosaur island??"(sorry if this has been noted elsewhere, just dawned on me though)
So here's one thing that maybe I'm just not understanding. Are we able or encouraged to level up multiple elements? Pretty sure that's a common sense yes, but some things in FFXIV have not followed the common sense trend.
I'm satisfied seeing the increased drop rate on the Susano and Lakshmi wolf mounts. I also like the fact one can turn in 99 totems for their respective wolves too.
As long as the Hildibrand story delivers like it always does, I don't mind having 2 quests. (Keep in mind that there were only 2-3 Hildibrand quests in HW for each patch they came out in.)
For Eureka, I'll reserve judgment until I play it.
I'm not much of a PVP person in this game, so I can't comment on it.
The mount look like Megatron from Beast War.
I don't think this is right.
It sounds like your elemental level is 1-20, in general, to correspond with monster elemental level. To get affinity, you need to meld magicite to the board, which we get through the eureka story. We can only change that in town through the magia melder, but we can spin the board so we can change elements in the field. So if we set five fire magicite, but get jumped by a wind enemy, we can change to whatever wind is weak to so it doesn't eat us as bad. But we can only decrease or increase the fire total and put it on wind in town.
Idk, theres some subtle stuff in there. Like we need protean crystals to upgrade gear, but it also says we need specific items which they don't name. I hope to god these aren't the same as past relic steps, bought w tomes.
New furnishing and new minions. I found my motivation for this patch.
Re: Eureka, the battle system doesn't seem THAT complicated, guess we'll have to go in and see what all the fuss is really about. I'm still lowkey hoping the Notorious Monsters count for the hunt achievs like some rumors I heard, but not holding my breath.
Atma 4.0
Monster = Fate
Protean Crystal = Atma
I'm not looking forward to it
No more Warrior critical equilibrium heal from inner release...? ;-;
The magia board is divided into six sections, each representing a different element. Melding magicite to the board will enhance the player's affinity to a given element. Magicite is earned by progressing through the Eureka story.
relooking at the patch notes at this part specifically it would seem you are right.
I got a bad feeling about that XP loss stuff. I can see parties getting really toxic fast and the potential for griefing. Ahh well... what to do. That Dinosaur mount is nice looking. Hope it flies! That would be hilarious.
Is this actually even a Relic? It keeps being referred to as “Eureka Weapon”.
On one hand, ARR relics were called "Zodiac Weapons" and the HW ones "Animas." On the other hand, I'd fear for Square's creativity if it wasn't already for FFVIII and that Spirits Within movie. <_<
Point being: yeah. They're relic weapons and armor (I think?), but called Eureka gear, because of course it is. InB4 Yoshi says something like "Well I'm not calling it Thanalan Gear."
I don't know what to think about the patch notes... Eureka sounds pretty new, with a kind of "exploration" feeling, like we're exploring a new land with new rules and with mysteries...
And at the same time, it just looks like a Relic 2.0 skin with Atmas, right ?
Well, we'll see that !
Yeah that's always bothered me a little. Only the first stages of ARR weapons are relics because they were using the word literally, they were old worn relics we found and restored. If people know the definition of the word, any purple-rarity weapons that followed were not relics. Like anima is just anima, it's a new item that was created, not a relic.
So yeah it's correct that the new weapons are not referred to as relics in the game and official notes, but they are what you think they are, upgradable weapons you work on across many patches which eventually catch up to the item level of raid weapons.

All you got to do is keep believing and it'll come true. x3
I'm fairly intrigued to say the least. First impression gives me a good feeling about it. Now, what looks good on paper may be absolutely terrible in execution. Here's hoping that's not the case though. As far as potential atmas are concerned...eh. I survived it twice, I can do it again.
