Eureka vs. Hildibrand

What will you check out first after the maintenance? I'm gonna check out Eureka myself.

My retainers. Not overly excited for this patch ngl. I'm behind on Hidly and Eureka looks too needlessly complicated and feels overdue :| patch notes will be interesting to read once they're up, I guess

Eureka, I'd rather do hildy slowly with no rush, with Eureka there will always be that rush feeling of not falling behind on relic grind.

I'm in no rush to tackle Hildibrand. It's highly unlikely to add any new trials and the 'jokes' will likely be the same repetitive story beats we've seen in the quest chain so far. Not that that stop'll a very vocal portion of the community from claiming it is the best thing ever. :rolleyes:

I liked it the first time around, though it's clear by now that we're missing out on different flavours of side quests just to keep it going.

I haven't did hildy since ARR and that's becasue he had a trial attacted to his questline, not very interested in his quests much. So, Euerka for me.

Seeing I have barely even started Hildibrand...

Regardless, Eureka is in many ways the make or break point of Stormblood. My curiosity on it is far higher.

Neither really. I'm honestly hoping for some job buffs, not really a fan of Hildibrand (kinda repetitive and pointless filler), but I "might" try Eureka but I was never fond of the "relics" in this game compared to FFXI. I feel Eureka will end up being Diadem 3.0, I hope it won't, but I'm not overly excited about this patch.

Depends on where my burnt out mind takes me. Probably Hildabrand for the comedy. I've missed his quests...

Eureka. If you get the dyeable AF3 gear from this I'd like to work on obtaining it already. I haven't touched the Hildibrand quests yet simply because I want to wait for the whole thing to be released so I can binge it. :)

Funny you should say that because FFXI things are supposed to be involved with Eureka. There were no PvE job changes in the patch notes though, just PvP.

Oh right, Hildibrand still is a thing, isn't it?

I'm far more interested in something that's been pushed back for patches and is supposed to keep us occupied than a lukewarm comedy do-it-once quest that'll probably last about 30 minutes. But that's just me.

I logged out at the primal npc so I can buy Lakshmi's mount. Then either do Hildibrand quests or continue doing mentor roulettes.

Before work maybe some Eureka. After work more Eureka and Hildy stuff.

Eureka. I'm still stuck on HW Hildy and figure I'll complete those slowly. There's only so much I can take of those quests, where you do nothing but stand around watching long cutscenes of Hildibrand's and Nashu's antics, which tend to get repetitive and old after a while. It's amusing in small doses, but that's about it.

Eureka.

And I will farm it hard until I get all the gear I want depending on the difficulty it is to grind.

Patch notes don't exactly paint a very exciting picture for Eureka. But, still kinda curious about whatever the return on investment is.

Well likely Omega 5 to 8 normal followed by a expert. Wait for more info on how much of a time sync eureka will be.

I just know that, tomorrow when I first log on, everyone in my FC and a couple linkshells--including my own boyfriend, even--will ask me how many relics I've completed already. So, naturally, I might dip my head into Eureka before doing those two Hildi quests (just so the Q bubble is off of my map), and decide if I'm awake enough to go any further after that.

I want to say Eureka but, in all honesty, I think I may wait until nearer prime time US before venturing in so I can read any initial feedback. Being in the EU I could, in effect, start playing as soon as the servers are up but I'm tired of the rush content in FFXIV has become.

you need 5500 eureka crystals for the stage 1 new relic and you can get about 10-15 an hour, exp is also very very low, it's also a massive lag fest even with the strongest computers. I lasted an hour.

They didn't add hardly any Hildibrand quests and get no rewards from new ones like did other ones. Found this patch quests for Hildibrand boring. Took 30 minutes to finish them. Have not tried out Eureka yet hope its not boring like potd is.

They didn't add any rewards, but you can buy the tattered Hilidbrand outfit on the Mog Station. :rolleyes:

As much as I despise Hildibrand, I feel bad for those who like him since I figure that's a glamour they'd be interested in and it makes sense to tie it to the quest chain.

this was the kicker for me. Do the quest in-game ZERO reward - but oh ! spend money on the mogstation for the new gear? This is frankly a kick in the teeth. Is this how it will go now? No rewards from bothering to do quests, just go and pay the mogstation instead? I am so %$^#& angry about this I don't even know where to start.....

After checking Eureka's description on the patch notes I knew that if you ignore the fancy elemental thing it was gonna be Diadem all over again, so I went for Hildibrand right away. I don't regret my choice.

I'M HERE! IT'S THE BEST THING EVER! just really, REALLY short. again. :(

they claimed the last 2 quests were supposed to be a preview. to me it feels like those plus the new ones would have added up to a decent preview. at least it feels like some of the humor has comeback since heavensward. i think i only had one good laugh in heavensward. this one at least had me giggling a little.

Diadem + almost everything I hated about FFXI.

The only things missing from XI were crafting being about 100% rng (as opposed to what it is in XIV) and standing around for ages, trying to get a party, unless you were SPECIFICALLY trying to level a healer.

Hildy. First chapter was bad, but this one was slightly better. It was cool to see the new encarnation of Lonewolf Pickpocket and the single ladies dance was funny, hope to get that as an emote.

But yeah, it needs to improve a lil bit.

I've been for a couple hours in Eureka with the FC lads, chained a lot of trashmobs but wasn't so lucky with the drops. I honestly don't know if I'll insist on that.
