Please, more highlander hairstyles!

Hello,

While i was checking if i already had all the available hairstyles I found the following thread for the FFXIV hairstyles;

And well, i feel kinda disappointed. I would love to have more available hairstyles for highlander, i think they are not really hard to do or implement in game.

So, guys, do you agree? 20 hairstyles for this marvelous game seem like too little.

that list is a bit out of date. That is as of 2.5 There are 2 expansions since that list was updated lol.

Its not as bad as it is for elzen, they are desperate for hairstyles. :/
But highlander needs them too.

People have been asking for more hair for ages, including exclusive race styles to be unlocked via others, while they've done this a bit, it's so little that it's barely worth it. I think they can't do it because it might cause too much stress on the servers or you know it might actually break the game.

Actually, in this case it has nothing to do with breaking the servers and everything to do with time.

Each hairstyle is assigned a number for each race. So say Highlander hairstyle 1. They want to unlock this hairstyle. They can't just make this one, Au Ra hairstyle 1, Miqo'te hairstyle 1, etc... because each race already has its own hairstyle 1. They would have to manually go through and find the next successive number for each hairstyle, and for each additional hairstyle. See what I mean?

If adding more hairstyles broke the game, they wouldn't add new ones each patch.

I wasn't being serious.

I can't see that it would take much time setting a number to said hair. For example say you take Elezen hair 5 and give it the number of Lala hair 40, just throwing numbers out, I've never actually counted how many styles per race there are. On that note how are the neutral hairstyles handled?

They still have to manually adjust the numbering for them, and they also adjust them to fit the different races. Miqo'te in particular have ears that get in the way of certain things, and they have to adjust the scaling and the like. its not as easy as just assigning the numbers.

And you may not have been serious, but I swear some people legitimately thing the servers are 2 decades old and powered by hamsters. If anything, it is the engine and code they are working with causing the problems, not the physical hardware.

They could just get an intern or have someone work on at least 1-2 per patch, that way it wouldn't take forever trying to do them all at once and wouldn't pull anyone major away from anything major like a new dungeon or whatever.

Of course I don't think every hairstyle in game would fit every race but even if it's not perfect it still would appease a lot of people.

Perhaps, but maybe it's just because we get fed the same excuse for almost everything these days and seems they use that excuse so they don't have to take requests, I mean you have to wonder how much of the forums or request box in game they actually look at and go "we could totally do that, but we won't, so let's just feed them the line about not possible due to this or that reason".

I'd like real eyebrows, please.

More short hairstyles too.

If it’s all just stored by numbers, I guess they wouldn’t be able to actually change the existing reference codes for anything without messing up characters’ appearances? NPCs as well as player-characters. They might have to make duplicate entries to implement it overall, so each race’s previously-exclusive styles would appear a second time in their list. (Could be an opportunity to do flipped versions of styles, though?)

It'd be funny if they added eyebrows as a new hairstyle for highlanders but made them completely bald instead with a full head of hair. X'D

But yes to highlander hairstyles, please! Ala Mhigo should be providing us with TONS of them! Why haven't we seen any...?

Then they'd blame server limitations for not being able to both at once.

I dont care if they chuck some realistic (or passable looking) eyebrows in the makeup section, Caterpillars for highlanders is and always will always be my choice of hair style for those poor guys

I'd rather have more nice, longer hair styles for all races. Rather than another identical short hair for a specific race.

Should just make some of the race specific hairstyles unlockable for all races through a small quest or something, go places and learn about different races cultures and stuff and learn some of their hairstyles/access to alternate camise and undershirts. Would love to be a roe in a miqo camise top

That is actually a fantastic idea. I just don't get how any sports game, with a customizable, has more hairstyles than goddamn final fantasy.
