Although I would enjoy doing the normal Alexander and Omega Raids as part of a roulette, the Bahamut ones however are quite mech heavy in some instances and there potentially would be too many wipes to actually even want to consider joining the roulette. It's a bit like getting an Ex Primal in mentor roulette, chances are you'll get new players or others that are rusty on the mechs and it'll either clear (barely) or the party would just disband.
ooooh I think this would be a great idea!! I agree on the concerns with a few of the bahamut ones, they are just so annoying and I can't imagine being forced to do it synced XD
And it shall always be T9 where either 3/4 of the party leaves when they see a bonus, or people try to avoid doing/don't know/forgot mechanics.
I too agree that Coils should be left out of it. The difficulty is too great and it's still easy for parties of even 70 to wipe under certain circumstances (hello T9), let alone a synced pug. Sadly, that should remain well within the realms of PFs and Mentor roulette though in all my 1k runs of the mentor roulette, let it be said I have never once gotten any of the Coils. Ever.
The Alexander raids alone already give us 12 whooping instances, which is more than enough to justify a roulette, and that's before adding Omega in (similar to how Rabanastre is already in the alliance raid roulette), and eventually Sigma when the next tier hits.
Yeah Coils wouldn't be possible to clear more than half the time.
Omega and Alexander normal need a roulette, specially for those who come later in the game and now cannot complete it unless make a party with friends or PF. Also, most people who join this party wants unsych for quick clear, and this way cannot experience it completely.
However, Coil normal is what we call now "Savage". It is hard difficulty tier. Turns one to four can be done easily on Duty Finder, just by overgearing. But turn 5 in ahead it is almost impossible to complete on Duty Finder with random people.
yeah apart from bahamut i would also like to see normal raids turned to a roulette it would give new players a chance to do raids like Alexander normal plus omega cuzz it seems like once people do it to clear they dont go back which i know why savage gives more/better stuff but it leaves those new players in a tough spot when they might wanna clear it too have a daily bonus for completion like the other roulettes to get people interested in it maybe double tomes or something?
I would say that coils can be easily unsynched by one-two ppl so in a way they are fine especially since they are an easy target for WT (cept a certain one), however alexander and omega could use the roulette treatment
Coils would more than likely not get excluded despite how hard it is still.
I would be fine with all 8 person raid content being included. How can the player base ever get better if they arent exposed to challenges?
A roulette is not the right place to get that since ppl join roulette for fast gain and not for challenge,
98% the time it'll be Alex or Omega since ppl que for that, sooo whatever^^
Ye about that, I'm very curious about how many ppl actually do that and the % of it succeding and not disbanding after few wipe and how many actually ppl do it for the reward of the roulette and not because of the mount.
So, I would argue that T1-4, T6-8, Alexander normal, and Omega normal, would all fit the bill for this. T5/9/12/13 are definite no-nos (maybe create a Savage Roulette for them plus Alex/Omega Savage if you insist on all coils being in a roulette, but where would Coil Savage fit in that?). T9/10 I'm not so sure of where they'd fit.
I remember DFing SCOB back when it had echo, got nerfed and FCOB was out. Out of all these turns, I'd say that T8 is still not suitable for pugs with a majority or mostly first timers. Mechanics like Allagan Field and Ballistic Missile didn't get nerfed, and a clunky tower management can still wipe the raid. It's far harder than both Gordias, Midas and Creator NM. From T10 to T12, they only added echo, but it remains on savage difficulty, which means that that echo can only do so much if you don't know the mechanics. The full FCOB would be out of the roulette for sure.
A proper raid roulette should include only Alexander and Omega, in my opinion. Because if they include Coil, they will have to include it completely because of its story. We all know that some fights are just impossible for pugs and facerollers. T5, T9 and T13 can't be facerolled. It's highly unlikely that they will nerf them at this point, since they don't re-visit old content and it has been nerfed already.
Ultimately, the gear from Coil can be crafted, so it's not much of a loss glamour wise, even if the tomestones to craft them drop from there. People craft them and sell them. BCOB gear and SCOB weapons drops from the bags in PoTD even. The gear from Omega and Alexander doesn't have a crafting alternative.
I would love an 8 man roulette. People keep bringing up Coils but they shouldn't and wouldn't be in the same roulette with story mode raids. The devs are aware of the difference in difficulty because Coils were not included in mentor roulette whereas the other normal raids were. People claim the MSQ roulette died when the dungeons became a little longer so a raid roulette with savage equivalent raids would be dead on arrival. What would be the point then if almost no one queues for it?
It's going to happen sooner or later, only question is if coils will be included/updated/nerfed.
Hopefully never since coils is going to be a nightmare.
Point taken about T8 and all of FCOB. The reason I suggested a Hard Raids Roulette was to allow Coil to get covered. Because if we added all of the Coils to the Hard Raids Roulette, and 1-3 or 6/7 didn't pop, people would leave. Hence why I suggested adding some to the normal raids roulette, and the others to the hard raids roulette. But it might be easier to just omit Coils in its entirity from roulettes because it doesn't look like there's any good way to split coils between roulettes...
Honestly I think they'll just create Story nmode roulette or some names like that and settle for it, since coil was created before story mode was even a thing they don't mesh well
I would absolutely love for there to be Omega/Alexander normal raids in a roulette -- some of the fights are stunning with some great mechanics that, unfortunately, I have no need to play again (minus the occasional Mentor Roulette).
However, as someone else said, the Bahamut tier of raids can still be rather tricky, and are more comparable to 'Savage' tier fights - so hopefully it would just stick to Omega and Alexander normal.
I might catch heat for saying this, but people don't even seem to handle Alliance Raid roulette well. A "High End Raid" roulette would be about as dead as 50/60.
That's not me saying not to implement it, but let's not kid ourselves. . . it wouldn't be very popular unless they disproportionately jack up rewards.
