Update on Crafting Recipe Lists

We wanted to give you an update to how recipes will be handled in the future. For starters, in 2.0 it will be possible to check all recipes in-game. Once you reach the appropriate level to craft a recipe, the basic recipe will be listed and recipes that can only be obtained from Leves and quests will be added to your list upon receiving them.

It will also be possible to select a finished product from the recipe list and immediately begin crafting as the necessary materials will automatically be set provided that the items are in your inventory. These things will be implemented alongside the launch of 2.0 and we’ll also be looking into implementing an enhanced in-game recipe search feature amongst other things as well based on your feedback.

Goodo o.o Although it does seem a little bit of a shame just... knowing most of the recipes, rather than their appearing in the list only once you've used them once.

But it's nice to know there'll be some can only be found..

Still on track with the advanced colour system (16-32 colours for all gear based on intelligent texture colouring instead of the current manual texturing/one texture per-colour, with items being repeatedly dye-able) and all? The one Naoki Yoshida promised after that colour-determines-class-locks-and-stats debacle, I mean.

I'm beginning to go a bit nuts with most things only coming in three colours, especially when they aren't the ones I promised myself I'd get down the line before the systems were messed with.

Oooh! Recipes that can only be obtained from quests makes me happy. I hate the 'auto-everything' way the game is right now. I want more unlockable things.

I completely agree, an important part of an MMO is individuality and with a limited selection with high end gear and the fact that colours has its limitations it make it hard for player to stand out from one another. There is no sense of uniqueness, not to say that I should be able to look absolutely unique but still not the same as 1 in every 5 players.

Maybe a nice distinguish between how gear will look on a male chars and different on a female chars. Sorry for the lack of ideas but its just a simple example.

Still to add to the OP, I warmly welcome that feature and can definitively see its usefulness.

Definite win for crafters...I might just start up crafting again...now if only we could find a way to cut down on the time it takes to crraft 1 item we'd be golden...

Is there is any plans to revamp the crafting mini-games? Should start throwing ideas?

Crafting does need a change imo...the mini game part of it. I can't stand to do leves or synth anymore. It just feels so very tedious.

In simple terms, that's freakin' awesome!

Very good news, I was thinking about a recipe search feature the last weekend, I would like to search gear's recipe with the following options:
Class/Job
Optimal-Required Level
Stats
Attributes
Possible craft with materials that you possess in your inventory

Rukkirii , your post was full of AwesomeSauce. These are much needed and appreciated changes.

Now if we can just get the "meat" of crafting addressed...Bulk-Auto Crafting for Mats and Parts please.

As for the mini-game crafting, I would like it if Standard Synthesis was the default Auto-Craft (repeat Standard Synth without my input) but allow us to select Fast or Careful Synth during the process to alter our Quality output and Fail/success rates.

I dunno if that is feasible but that is my suggestion.

Completely off-topic, I've been wondering how come Rukkirii didn't choose the Snurble for her avatar?

And back on topic, sweet on the craft lists! Recipe discovery oughta be interesting where we do have to unlock the recipe.

The Snurble is Eemeefu and Eemeefu is in localisation and localisation are voidsent and voidsent include snurbles! :D

So will having the recipe be required to craft a specific item? Or will you still be able to craft if you have the required items?

Does that include a check for sub-crafts? For example, you want to craft a felt robe, don't have enough undyed felts but enough material to craft undyed felt.
It would be great if the system could tell you "you don't have enough <item>, do you want to craft it first?"

Yes this is great news! Now just change the mini game or automate standard. Even if you cant get it done for 2.0 you should have a plan for the horizon! A different mini-game for each craft would be really cool .. lots of ideas floating around the forums there already.

Quick question.
These lists will they be viewable interdependent of being on a given class? It would be great if i could hit a button on my micro menu no mater what class i am on and have the information I am looking for at my fingertips. Bonus cool points if i could hit a button and automatically change to the needed class and start synthing.

Do like, but my question is the same as Griss. Are the lists interdependent of class?

Off-topic: Trust me I tried! It was a very intense battle of the Opo-opos. Oh well, I have a better avatar in the works. I just have to cross my fingers that I'll get this one this time. :3

I agree with Griss's question about interdependent craft lists. Also agree with most of the folks on here about some sort of auto craft feature unless the mini game is changed to actually make it 'fun' to craft, otherwise auto those 2,000 ash masks just to make it to lvl X. :p

Why not just give us a recipe book with name of every recipe we ahve done and a % rate of how many recipes we have made? once we make one it gets recorded in the book and we just have to find it click it and the crafting starts?

2.0 is one year away. Would it be to much to ask for that you please update the lodestone synthesis recipe lists and keep them up to date? Thank you for your support in this matter.

As far as I can see, the synthesis recipes on the lodestone ARE updated towards the current additions of many colours as well as stat-boostings. So they are very much up to date.

It will be possible to view the recipe list from any class that you are on. Also, there are no plans for an automatic switch to the needed DoH and start crafting though the recipe list, but I let the dev. team know your idea. ^_^

For those of you who are curious, the recipe list will display which items you are missing for a certain recipe.

I hoped it would not only display but also give you the option to actually craft this item if you have ingredients to do so - then continuing with the main synth.
