I've been playing since 3.0 and I gotta say, it's first primal I didn't need to watch a guide for. And when I play BRD, I literally just feels like I can run and shoot and he's dead lol

The devs were too distracted by his nekkidness to develop a harder fight. I know I needed a moment.
Nah, I'd still say Shiva was easier.
They had to make it easy to combat the annoyingness of the falling. It was cool the first time, the second it wasn't bad, but by fall #56 you want to throttle someone.
I think both Susano and Lakshimi were way easier than any other ex primal.
Nah. Lakshmi was easier imo. I went in that 100% blind and passed it with only one or two people explaining the fight to the rest of us.
I was a bit surprised you said this, but then again I had to look at what strengths/weaknesses each job offers, because ranged have a real bonus in this fight, and even more so for a BRD/MCh to move and attack.
Having to hard cast as a RDM puts me in very bad spots, so i had to learn where the safest spots where, depending on where we are in the fight.
For the orbs, being far away is easy to cast giving u a tiny bit of time to move after a cast, which would be harder on BLM.
But the next phase, its too dangerous to be that far away because the boss will target entire sections between the dropped markers, leaving no direction safe to run w/o sprint (which is commonly on CD at that point)
So the safest spot to cast, is near the middle, where the orbs are coming from, leaving u the smallest sliver of time to cast and move. (Dunno what BLM does here honestly.)
And of course the melee combo is ready when he leaps into place u cant go, making it a sorta 50-50 if its a good idea to chase him or not, and when u do, its no picnic.
Anyways, I found laksmi a joke as a caster, little to no mechanics to deal with, and having enough room to get orbs etc.
I just sat still pew pewing, and grabbed an orb on occasion.
This isnt to say Byakko cant be easy, just that BRD/MCH have it the best for that fight, and then I'm not sure who would be next, probably tank. (If I mess up as tank, i can just mitigate through an erryors)
It never occurred to me just how easy Byakko would be if i could move and shoot the whole time, and I agree, that sounds ludicrously easy.
Byakko's mechanics aren't that easy, It just doesn't punish you for failing them at all. You can kepe failing and failing until he dies before you do. Other easy primals at least had one or two situacions where they could kill people that did something wrong. The fact you can ignore its actual hardest mechanic with tank LB3 also helps so much.
Try playing it on a melee job, its a hell of a lot more annoying :P
Susano is not easy, lakshimi is not either.
Byakko is easier.
Lakshmi still exists, right?
He's definitely one of the easiest; probably just ahead of Vrill: The Fight and Pop a Pimple. On the flipside, he's also one of the most annoying depending on your job.
Tank/Healer: Piss easy
Melee: "I hate everything"
Range: *Laughing at the melee*
Caster: "At least we're not melee."
The intermission though. Please never do that again, SE. Or change it so we only see it if someone's new. Farming him with that stupid two minute delay is beyond irritating.
Hahahahahaha
Yes, they are. People were pushing them in 290 gear. Both were an absolute joke, though Susano had some fun mechanics.
For the reward you get I think the Byakko EX fight is appropriately adjusted. As for easiest I think that would be Lakshimi. Cleared it on the first or second attempt with a random group from PF. Didn't even require brain work. You could just zone out and still clear.

The only way they could ever be found hard is if you're purposely failing mechanics.
Shiva wasn't that easy. I remember struggling for days in PUGs with her. I think the easiest EX primal upon release was Lakshmi EX and Sophia EX.
I think there's an argument that it's the easiest "on release" since 3.0 simply because 340-350 gear was so easy to have at release. The ilvl requirement was only 340 and most people dwiddling their thumbs were 340-345 already. and as DPS, there just aren't many things to lookout for and react to that will cause a death. lightning is a 10 second paralyze yet that has never stopped me from getting to my stack in time. i can eat an orb, i can get touched by the purple bubble, have 3 vuln stacks, and still survive storm pulse. I was expecting Sephirot level difficulty, but I'll be expecting that from the primals to come.
2 issues with that. 1, folks are getting better so folks are having an easier time of jumping into stuff. 2, when folks still screw up simple stuff like the tank swap and sweep the leg it's clear there's a difference between folks that know the game and folks that don't
I wouldn't say easiest, but it is easy. And yes, Susano and Lakshmi are easy. I was solo healing Susano in i320 gear.
Susano and Lakshimi were by far the easiest thus far. Shiva at the time was only hard because it was too bright and i could never see the aoe attacks on the tv i had at the time, lol
I feel like I've the opposite opinion of most on meleeing this guy as it has you planning for movement alot more than the likes of the omnidirectional Shinryu, o5 and 6 where you're sitting still for extended periods of time and start becoming "numb" for lack of a better word.
Difficulty seemed about on par with Susano/Lakshmi and I felt this was by design, with this fight designed to be less difficult than the entry savage fight, and sigma being designed to stay around delta's difficulty. Falling phase is awful and is just there to talk smack on voice over people who manage to fail it.
I had a Susano clear after 4-5 pulls. Byakko took a whopping 6-8. To me, the former was much easier.
Byakko is a total joke from a difficulty standpoint. Much like other primals in the past (Think Ifrit EX), people tend to freak out because of visuals, voice acting, newness, etc.
It is super fun tho. I will give them that.
Its also completely EZ mode as a caster. U can stand by your marker for the whole fight (except for stacking and distant clap). I had 9 Raises 2 nights ago as an RDM as our DRG (and I have been this guy before) just couldn't avoid vuln stacks.
Byakko was meant to provide entry level weapons for this tier to help people catch up, that being said, his difficulty is perfectly tuned for his reward and what he's intended to be.,
It feels like an appropriate level of difficultly for an EX primal. If you want harder stuff, try Savage or Ultimate.
Don't be jerks to a player that struggled with a fight you breezed through.
No Bismark was wayyyyy easier lol nothing changed besides the debuffs on the senua adds lol
Lakshmi
went in blind and cleared before time ran out
Can we stop using "well if you just do every mechanic right it's easy" as an argument please? How about some reasoning on why those mechanics are easy instead?
I say Sophia is the easiest primal. After you get past the add phase, you essentially only need one person that knows the fight for the most part, and the whole group can follow them. Damage all around is not high, AoE is staggered so you can still save the group even if you completely forget or don't notice the cast bar, and messing up never got anyone else in the party killed. In fact, messing up rarely go you killed either unless it caused you to fall off.
for me ask melee Byakko is easiest I cleared it with 1st try blind run
Lakshmi is for sure the easiest, atleast coming from someone who skipped most of the HW EX fights but has done all of ARR and only skipped Shinryu in SB. Personally Susano felt harder then Byakko though that could be because more people play when the expansion comes out, and thus player skill varies much more at that time.
Byakko is one of the most fun EX fights though IMO, if the devs just had a bit more pattern RNG in there for the fall phase it would be perfect for its difficulty.
As a ninja main I thnk Byakko is the funnest primal so far. The running away shit can be a bit annoying, but if you know the fight your melee damage / uptime shouldn't be affected that much...
As for the falling mechanic... I want that shit in the gold saucer, please! I loooove that part of the fight so much. I could do that for hours. xD
Byakko is second easiest, tbh... Sasuna is pretty piss easy as long as you know how to jump from one side of the tiny map to the other. Shinryu is the hardest and I only ever managed to clear that EXT once.
You wouldnt be saying that if you still had the 3.0 Bard.
Also you feel its too easy then go beat it without the tank lb cheat.
Susano ex is by way the easiest. It doesnt even feel like its Extreme trial tier.
Byako ex excels at being annoying as hell for dps especially during orb phase. We lose so much dps over positionals and True north has a useless 3 minute cooldown for the fight.
Actually SB does seem to have a thing for adding more flash and slowing fights down.
I prefer the fights to be more cinematic, but I can see how Byakko will be the bane of farmers forever until we're pushing level 90 and DPS so hard we push through the falling phase (as long as it's not like, Ifrit EX enrages, eek.)
I think Sophia and Lakshmi were by far the easiest primals upon release. Byakko definitely is one of the easier ones, though.
Byakko is not the easiest primal; I’d say that crown goes to Lakshmi, where you press Vrill and ignore all of her mechanics.
Bismarck Extreme was also braindead easy.
3.0 BRD wasn’t that hard. The cast bars were shorter than your GCD; if you mastered slide-casting and made use of your oGCDs/Straighter Shot, there were minimal issues regarding movement.
