Surely there can't be anymore feedback to give that hasn't already been given.
The same players who asked for the longer preseason probably stopped playing because there are no rewards. In the end, we still end up with the same small circle of players giving feedback. I started 4.2 a week late and it took a week before I was able to find any games, those games consisting of the same 10-12 players. Ultimately, it's on SE for not offering any incentive during the preseason, but they also shouldn't entertain the call for a longer preseason period if no one shows up to play during that time.
Ultimately it is on the player base for being indecisive in what they want. No preseason "Waaaah", preseason to short "Waaaah", preseason too long "Waaaah".
At least offer up a suggestion on how long the preseason will be instead of saying it is too short/too long. It's been what 2-3 weeks since 4.2 released?
Maybe if SE had some good turn around on implementing what we ask for, we might have a better grasp on what we really want. A longer pre-season I think is fine if it comes with some incentives to participate in it. Maybe mail us X amount of gil when the season starts if we did Y number of games in the preseason.
I don't think it's indecision, so much as SE listening to people's bad ideas and implementing them because they happen to be the popular opinion at the time. I'm pretty sure OP didn't ask for a longer preseason and neither did I, for the record. I'm of the opinion that the reward system in general is lacking, regardless of how long or short the preseason is, putting SE at fault initially. The community would just make things worse by asking for a longer preseason, knowing well that there was no preseason incentive structure in the game.
New Preseason Feedback:"GET RID OF THE DAMN BOTS! NOW THEY'RE IN FEAST TOO ASDFASGFASDAS!"
I mean, if SE had a decent track record of getting rid of cheaters, I could understand. But considering they don't, I can't help but wonder how often you guys need to get burned before you get wary of the idea of "incentives".
I never accused you or the OP of such a thing. I said SE and Player Base. Also it is indecision on the playerbase as the only people who are vocal are the ones complaining. SE can only listen to the ideas before them. So it is not their fault you and the OP didn't chime in or find a vast majority of people to chime in and overrule the people saying it needed to be longer. So thus yes the Playerbase is indecisive because they only speak up to complain. If we want to talk about Incentives then they need to revisit the entire reward structure for Feast. I was only interested in Season 4 for the mount because I was MIA during season 3. The rewards otherwise are lacklsuter for time investment vs other aspects of the game.
There are a lot of changes, including the reintroduction of an improved light party mode which may be the basis for actual team tournament play. I can see them wanting a longer pre-season to let teams practice and scrimmage together for the future, and considering the achievements for team play cap at like 300 wins, maybe expect it to be played a lot.
To be blunt, I think the problem is that for all the talk, players just don't like feast enough to play it.

About the most organized offering of feedback we can give here. Let's just hope SE acts upon it the right way.
If we keep this preseason length, we have 4-6 months preseason in 1 year. It could be that one actual season will be shorter than the preseason.
On the other hand it takes a lot of time for them to implement "feedback ideas". Those ideas though usually get implemented within a season and not at the start, which makes you wonder about the purpose of the preseason. And then every few patches they suprise you with some changes nobody asked for, like the removal of the all previous feast maps.
Preseason is good to learn the changes, but it fails to get desired changes quickly enough for the next season. Therefor it could be shorter, if changes aren't made more quickly in the future.
Good point. At the time the rep acknowledged the organized feedback thread, they at least could've applied a brightness hotfix to the new arena. Or even perhaps when they fixed the Ungarmax nonsense.
Like why does it feel like the PvP team is just phoning it in all the time? I understand emergency or routine maintenances have priority concerns, but if you're not busy and can maybe fit it in, wouldn't it be worth it to do so? Especially when lack of timely support and addressing of concerns is a regular complaint from the target players?
Personally, I enjoy a long preseason as it gives me time to participate in other aspects of the game (Farming my 99 Shinryu/Byakko totems, focusing on raid, etc...)
As the seasons themselves are rather short, and with the new ranking adjustments meaning the queue will stay alive for longer, I often find myself having to commit all of my free time to the Feast in order to obtain the top 100 rewards. While I enjoy the feast, my biggest concern right now is the season starting with Eureka in the next patch -- I obviously want to experience the new content as much as possible, especially as it'll include the new relics, but if the feast season starts at the same time it will unfortunately eat up my time. We'll see!
