Request: Astrologian Quality of Life change

Please allow Astrologians to choose their cards/draw when out of combat. Still have draw on the same 30s but please let them choose which card when not in combat. Give it the hide treatment (resetting mudra) that you gave Ninjas.

Basically we've made a lot of nice quality of life changes like resetting CDs on a wipe and other changes that just involve sitting around waiting. Currently in raids we just wait on time for an AST to draw the right cards before pulling.

Ideally I would like this still tied to draw and the 30s CD so in 4 man dungeons ASTs couldn't have balance up 100% of the time.

I don't think the game can recognize in what "kind" of content you are, so they would probably need to make a new mechanic where you could draw only in a 8man environnement out of combat. Just allowing you to choose out of combat would mean you'd have whatever you want on every pull in Dungeon and I'm not sure that's something they want. (As you pointed)

A more simplistic solution would be to introduce a new skill with a very very high cd that only works out of combat which reduces the cd of draw and redraw to 5sec for something like 1min.
Altough it would be clunky, it would (I suppose) be very easy to implement and not exploitable (allowing you to get the cards you want once every 10min isn't going to break Dungeon balance or anything), since all CD reset after a wipe in a 8man, you could use it every single time toget the right cards but this would be unexploitable outside of 8man (like, a marginal gain)

It would guarantee to have that 50% aoe balance in between every pre-pull in EX or Savage.
I can't disagree it would be great.

Cause I see silly comment saying it's an Ast buff. Yes it's definitly possible while it's obviously just a QoL.
It doesn't affect it's potencial in combat directly. Just like you said, it's like Ninja who can reset Mudra indeed.

When RNG isn't with you, you can be there drawing 10 cards until getting that one you want to prepare for the content you'll run for.

I wouldn't be against this. I don't know if static Savage groups with an AST wait to start a pull until the AST has their Balance ready, but I bet they do. I won't queue for a duty finder raid until I have it ready myself.

This isn't a QoL change. This is a direct buff. Every AST would be able to have a Balance for every encounter.

And 30s is nothing for dungeon pulls. If DB can be up for every pull, so can Draw.

The Issue with Draw that many don't seem to realize is that it forces clipping when you're trying to go through your rotation so sometimes trying to have draw up every 30 seconds isn't an ideal situation as to why many of us want this type of change which still wouldn't be "broken" because it would only be at the start of the pull and you can't use it outside of dungeons so in a way it's just a way for us to have our cards ready prior to being in a dungeon/raid/savage etc.

I’m guessing you consider this “QoL” because you could just sit in one spot and spend 5 minutes drawing until you get the exact card combinations you want between each battle. However, by that logic, you could also sit and wait until all of your cooldowns reset between battles or mana fully restore. A Benedict full heal every single tiny encounter as QoL change. Paladins can get their 10 second immunity back too since, technically they could do nothing for 7 minutes after each battle ao it is really just a quality of life change.

CD are already reset between every encounter.
Dungeons are something aside, draw doesn't really need to reset for that, especially because you have plenty of time to draw a lot of cards and plan some combinaison in between. OP is just lazy.

For me, I would request this for ex, savage and before joining a duty (in our house or whatever as long as it's outside of any duty or battle)
Wouldn't restrict us to switch to DoL/DoH because your cards were saved and you have to redraw it again and maybe wait a lot of draw to get your combinaison back.

Out of combat, Draw and to a certain extent, redraw, need a CD reduction to like 5 seconds so that you can prep your card before raid. It's a QoL in 8 man encounters because it cuts down on the amount of time waiting. CD resets were a thing for this very reason, to prevent downtime between pulls. Likewise, improving upon out of combat card management would be a boon.

Even in dungeons, this change wouldn't change much of anything, as it's directed for raids. Even if an AST pulls the good cards before the next pull: A) your dps have to be good to make use of it, B) it's still worth less than a holy spamming WHM. The balance between healers for dungeoning won't change. Though, dungeon balance is more geared towards "can you clear the dungeon with this job" rather than "is this job balanced in dungeons."

Seems like all you need is for changing sects to reset cooldowns on all your draw skills...

Honestly....their dps needs to be kicked up. LolAstroDps should be a meme ala old school Dragoon dmg.

The way I see AST is like a tarotist and it feels right that the cards won't benefit you constantly. You draw what you draw, and that's your life as a fortune teller. Would feel kinda cheatsy having a deck and be like "this one doesn't count" until you draw the aoe balance combo. Also, as a side note: I feel it'd make AST a bit superior, being able to pick your buffs before a pull or a raid start is just too convinient.

Overall, it would make ast better and semi mandatory since you can reliable pull your combo, but is that what we really need?

This has been brought up before. Sure, as long as adlos 100% crit out of combat. [Probably a good idea to just leave it like it is]

I haven't ever waited minutes for an adlo crit. It's usually 15s, I hate waiting on cards. It feels just the same as it did back in the day waiting on CDs to reset after a wipe where everyone had their CD macro...

Sorry we can't pull forever because Hollowed Ground is down or 2min until battle litany is up...
