I am concerned that people are using Free Companies as placeholders to lock up all of the quality residential plots throughout the current wards. A prime example of this Happening would be like Server Faerie, Limsa Lominsa, Ward 16, Plots 31-60. All of the Free Companies appear to be bogus.
From the way I understand that housing is going to work from reading the description Additional Plots and Purchasing Requirements directly from the Lodestone website:

To me this means that if you have the Gil and you are willing to create a Free Company to purchase a lot, you will also be capable of relinquishing that lot and moving a personal lot to that location at a time when it will be easy for you to take that lot without any competition. I have seen many desirable lots get picked up by these "bogus" free companies. and these houses have been abandoned/ignored since their purchase.
I sure hope that the relinquished houses will not be set for immediate transfer capabilities, which will allow this type of abuse to go unpunished, and give these abusers free reign over all quality lots. :mad: :mad: :mad:

FC homes cannot be "transferred" to personal ownership... nor the opposite.
If someone wants to go to the trouble of making an FC to get a home....then so be it....it takes a bit of effort and time.
Took mine roughly a week to get a house from formation. And a lot of farming. I'm sure others can report similar cases in less time.
But again - you can't just "flip a house" to personal ownership. You have to destroy it...before you can use the plot - which is subject to the RNG timer.
At least that's what I've read/understood. -

What he's trying to say is... they're grabbing sweet spots with dummy FCs. Wait for the riddiculous slaughtering on 20th be done. Then sell those who were lucky enough to get a "not so nice house" their "much nicer plot" for relocation. Relocation bypasses the RNG timer.

This does not even touch on the argument that I posted to begin with. What you are sharing follows the assumption that Lots A through Z are created equally and that those lots are going to have an identical amount of players wanting them. This is not the case and these players understand these things. Now what is going to happen on the 20th is all these premium lots or going to be gone. The individuals are going to SURGE to the GOBLET which for some reason a very small percent of players want to actually place a residence. They are then going to have the free company RELINQUISH the land and then they are going to transfer IMMEDIATELY (aka without having to wait for RNG timers to go into effect) from the undesirable lot to the desirable lot that they have been holding for 1-2 weeks.

This means that if each small lot costs 4 million gil. They will get half of it back for the relocation / relinquish and then pay the 4 million one more time for the relocation. So a net of 8 million gil to get a great lot rather than just paying only 4 million gil for the crap lot staring at a wall.
Also, I am not purchasing anything that does not follow SE guidelines like the individuals that are likely destroying the residential wards throughout my server, but Free companies in the right situation will only take 24 hours to reach rank 6 with a handful of players. These players are not fools they are playing the game smart by ensuring that they get the lots they have always wanted. It is just unfortunate that SE has implemented a loop hole into their housing system that allows this illicit activity to exist. so do not go around calling people Utter fools because that is rude and and not constructive language. -

Grimwar, if you edit your post you can just add onto it beyond the absurd and unfriendly 1000 character limit. They won't be getting half of anything back, you get 1/3 of the minimum price of the plot (full devaluation) discounted from the listed plot price at the placard. They'd have to pay for the original plot, then the horrible plot, and then drop the old plot (receiving 0 gil) and spend the full price - about 400k to move to the now open plot. For a small, they'd still be spending around 11-12m. These exploits were pointed out when the new housing purchase info was released, there was just no adjustments made to the moving portion of the code since it's supposedly separate from the purchase code. Hopefully they'll adjust it in the next round so moving has to wait out the rng timer as well.

thanks for pro tip on posts. and yeah still 4 mil to 12 mil is not a huge deal for most people. i would pay 12 min if SE gave me a week headstart to pick out my lot. btw i still don't even know if i want to pick up an individual hosuse. I just can not stand for how unfair it is for the people that i know who actually want to get their preferred lots and now they are all full of bogus Free Companies

The point the OP is trying to make is completely valid.
These people are still abusing the system. It doesn't matter if they took more effort to do so just because they had to form an FC and rank it up or the fact that the person they are selling to already owns a home. The intentions are clear; they are flipping a house for a profit which shouldn't be happening. They are taking the highly sought after plots that they know people will pay money to get and sitting on them until the 20th when tons of people will be able to buy homes. There will undoubtedly be people upset that they couldn't get the plot they wanted since the restrictions prevented them from doing so as the FCs got their pick first. These people will be their prime targets.
For example, dummy FC buys plot 30 in Shirogane. How much you want to bet there will be that one person who is sitting on a bunch of gil who had their hearts set on that plot since before the announcement that 4.2 would be locked to FC only for a time? Or that one person who has considerable gil but got an error and logged in a bit late getting a horrible small plot in the goblet as their only choice and would be willing to pay the premium for that dummy FC to relinquish the plot so they can relocate to it? I'm sure there will be plenty of cases of it and no matter how you slice it, this is an abuse of the system and it's unfair.
Is it as bad as other issues? No. Certainly not. Is it as bad as before when they could flip ANY house, even undesirable ones, to anyone who was just desperate for a house in general? No. Is it better that this new method of flipping actually frees up a house in the process? Definitely. But it's still not the intentional outcome and it's still scummy that someone can make 2x's profit or more by reselling a house that they sniped from under another legit FC's nose and I don't think it's the moral thing to be doing nor is it what SE intended to happen.
That being said, there are still legit uses for relocation to ignore the RNG timer (though I'm surprised they didn't change it so that it doesn't anyway). It's just very unfortunate that it also becomes a loophole for scumbags. -

I do agree they are manipulating the system and I'm not a fan of it honestly but at the same time I think it was clear that the main purpose of this housing system was to just give FCs access to any house, regardless of size or preference. I think that's why they have the relocation allowed and why the fc limit is so small, because while people can manipulate it this way, there are still small fcs out there that want access to house / workshop. I don't think individuals purchasing a house was even a thought for them this time around since even after fcs started buying up wards and pseudo fcs were buying plots, they waited two patches to reimplement it.
Obviously this is all speculation but I think going forward they might put more emphasis on individuals and will address the concerns that happened, especially since I think they'll take more time with it. This implementation was a bit of a rush job after what happened in Shiro since they apologized about it and said they would add more wards right away. I'm also hoping they put more work into making apartments larger and with that new pseudo patio thing they're working, allowing apartments to have access to gardening and placing some outdoor furnishings since with their server limitations I doubt they'll ever get everyone that wants a house into one. -

The FC's btwn the dotted lines seem to have been created before 4.1 got released. I'm only left to speculate that these were a group of house flippers that are now trying to exploit the new system in place to continue making their profits at the expensive of those desperate enough.
Ofc, it could all just be a coincidence and we could be looking to deep into things...

But I wish they would do more to either curb this behavior, or make it so the coincidence could not occur. Like not only having to have 4 players make a new FC and having rank 6, but also imposing a system along the lines of, when those 4 people make an FC, in order to buy a plot, the FC must have had active players for at least 30 days before purchasing, and should even one member leave, they cannot purchase a home, or if they already have one, then the owner gets an email stating that the FC home will be demo'd due to not meeting minimum requirements.
Ofc, this is just an idea, maybe there is a better method, but that is all that came to mind right meow. -

The underlying issue, IMO would be the lack of any real need for gil other then crafting/glamor or housing.
This leads to a massive amount of resources being collected by the few and dedicated... or willing to cheat.
Now, Housing was always something only the players lucky enough to login to the server during the massive influx to pickup a spot... prime spots went to the quick. Small housing being the exception as there are more of those types of plots and the most restrictive of the 3 types.
So, instead of addressing the issue of entire wards belonging to a very small minority they offer more wards... instead of restricting 1 plot to service account they restrict to each character...this is just another preparation factor.
FYI: I have owned a home since sub-wards were released, ran with everyone else to upgrade to a medium and am ok with it. Also helped farm mats, craft resources for an FC that eventually purchased 1/3 of a ward.
This was a couple years ago when that was a monumental time investment and needed many active participants, and was very much the exception. Now I see multiple wards purchased by individuals.
This would not be a problem if it were for investment or resale, but they are stagnate.
Either way our community chooses to play, just listing my experience and opinion. -
