Any advice ?? CRIT>ALL ???
SKS > CRIT > DET
SKS, so you can get in 5 FC's in your IR window. Then CRIT, DET.
atm! there is no BIS for left side, accessories petameld is your BIS on the right side.Everything else does not matter as the differences are so small it becomes none noticeable, according to the players who do the calculations anyways.
Yeah critical is now the best since you're guaranteed 5 of them during that burst. The fact that they're also direct hits makes it even better.
However, you'll still want Direct Hit melds to make sure you land as many direct hits outside of Inner Release. That's more of a damage increase than what you would get from extra critical hit melds. But if you're going for critical hit items anyway, you probably won't be able to meld any critical hit into them anyways.
The only problem with the BiS in this patch though is that you will also need to make sure you have enough skill speed to land 5 Fell Cleaves during Inner Release, and how much you get will depend on your ping. I have to stick with about 1500 skill speed to make sure I comfortably hit all 5, which means I'll probably have to end up making some adjustments.
ok then BIS are all armor with crit on left side and on right side all pentameld (strenght + crit)
if i have sks for 5 fell cleave.
Then all in crit if i can then det. then direct hit
Should probably get the SS somewhere else than accessories if you need it. The accessories are locked in for 6 months. Your left side gear+Weapon will shift as you upgrade for that time. If you need SS, adjust one of the left/weapon slots. You don't want to re-pentameld your right side because you upgraded a piece and lost some SS, or stuck with extra SS from a leftside upgrade because your Acc has some pentameldded in. Right side Neck/ear/wrist Str>Crit. Rings Str>Det. Left side SS to taste>crit>Det
I don't understand if I'm doing something different or whatever, but everyone is saying you need insane amounts of SKS, and your 1500 is bonkers to me because I'm sitting at 852 SKS and hitting all 5 FC in the IR window. If I'm still getting all 5 in there, do I need to worry about putting more SKS in for other attacks outside of the window, or can I just stop around there and go for crit? It just makes me worry when everyone is saying how much they need, and that I need to meld all gear for SKS.
You also have to discount some people really don't understand that you delay using an ability and mash things as soon as possible. Wait till your GCD cooldown is 50-70% (after 6'oclock on the spinning visual) to use IR. People had this problem with berserk, but with 20 seconds you didn't need as much SS to make up for fudging up. But with only 5 it behooves all wars to delay greatly. Literally hundreds of SS that could be crit is on the line.
The only way you need 1500 skillspeed is if youre playing on a regions server you aren't in like japan server but you live in new York or your internet connection is just depressingly bad and inconsistent.
While I wouldnt know for sure whats best, I can say that w/o any additional crit, and some bad gear on my part, my crits only do +25%-ish more damage.
So putting on more crit will definitely help you deal more damage, as some people will see closer to +50% - +100% more dmg on a crit.
You might be mistaking crits with direct hits.
When you successfully Direct Hit, the attack gets a flat +25% bonus. More direct hit stat only increases how often it triggers.
When you successfully Critical Hit, the attack gets a flat +45% bonus damage with 0 crit gear (with a 5% chance to actually crit). As you increase crit gear both % slowly goes up (+45% damage and +5% crit rate both increase with crit gear), but 45% is the bare minimum damage bonus a crit can have.
Im solely talking about zerk+equilibrium.
it cant DH, only crit.
it only heals roughly 25% more with no added crit on a Lv65 WAR alt. (I think my crit was roughly 700? I forget) or so I thought.
But I actually did the math wrong, it was 45% like peopel said. I did it backwards, seeing 10k heal, and seeing the base of 7500 heal, and stupidly took it as a 25% increase, when thats not how u do that lol.
Everyone talks only about crit and sks, but what about tenacity? Warrior still can be very useful as MT, but will he be tenacious enough if the tenacity is at a minimum? In my 340 equip, this stat is 1120, while the 370 gear in ariyala calculator says it will be 542 ...
Ten adds less damage than any other stat. The mitigation is nice, but scales at about 1% per 200 points. So lets say you gear heavy for it (2000ish), that's a permanent 10% damage reduction. Its not bad. Just like every stat gives you something useful, it just exchanges damage for flat mitigation. The way damage works in this game is highly predictable (tank busters, raid AOE moves) and healers in this game have ample strength to cover these. You wouldn't play any different with a Ten build (still use CDs for tank busters etc).
The thing about secondary stats isn't that "this ones good and that one is bad". Its that "This one is good and that one is BETTER". People hyperbole the crap outta these. They are all beneficial. None are 'trash' or 'bad' as they all are positive benefits, but its the opportunity cost that matters. Ten is good, but you will be sacrificing whatever you could have equipped in stead (Str, crit, etc).
Ten's defense scaling doesn't change much in actual play due to the rate it scales and how most damage in this game is spikey, predictable, mitigated via actions, and healers are very powerful (compared to many MMOs where healers would never have time to 'dps' etc.)
But ultimately, the truth is secondary stats don't matter very much. Gearing Crit>Det wont make a lick of practical difference from gearing Crit>Ten unless you are the 98% DPS trying to push for 99% on FF logs. These micro optimizations are absurdly small. Ilvl will increase your mitigation and damage far more than any secondary stat choice.
Correct. That's the 'optimal' choice. (choosing to be 'optimal' is a choice in itself however) Also, you wont be main tank every minute of every day, but you will always be hitting a monster. Str/Crit/Det will always be helpful. But if you end up with a piece of gear 20 ilvls higher with Ten and SS, then dont skip it because it doesn't have crit. As long as you can 5 FC berserk then Ilvl>Str>Crit>Det will get you the most bang for your buck.
