Gil limits on server transfers

I'm currently on Migardosrmr and looking to transfer to Hyperion.

Both are standard worlds.

I have about 50 million gil that I earned through raising all of my crafting and gathering to level 70.

What are the gil limits for transfering on retainers (I have 4) and on my own character?

look at the marketboards on both worlds. any excess gil, buy low, transfer, sell high

You could also buy low risk items and still profit if you know what you are doing. I turned 20 into about 240, then moved 240 and offloaded about 220m worth of items back into gil on my server. You just have to know the margins and low risk items.

another alternative is making alts and giving them money and then transfer them with you... but it does mean you'd need someone you trust to act as a go between. It always feels more satisfying to transfer more than one character for the transfer fee anyway

You can transfer more than one character. The only thing would be waiting a few days for their restriction to be lifted. But it looks like the transfer happened already.

The Gil limit isn't a problem today, with all workarounds they are in place.

I'd better like something as a transfer fee for anything exceeds 10M. Given you can buy items and resell them after transfer, it may be reasonable just put a 5% fee on transferred Gil exceeding the 10M and this saves us the hassle to deal with market to achieve same result. And, as pointed above, I maybe can even get more Gil tran I started from, with a correct choice of items to transfer (and market to sell) with me.

Yes I know I can also skip fees but let's say I'm lazy and wanna transfer right away.

No, any additional characters you have on the same world can be transferred together to the destination world for the same cost. Standard subscription allows for 8 characters per world, so you can transfer up to 8 characters together.

it's the same result for you - but not for the server economy as a whole.

the point is to not bring much new gil onto another server, wich could crash the economy. when you buy items for 10 mio on server A and sell them for 20 mio on server B, then you have doubled your money. but you took the extra 10 mio out of the gil-pool of server B - no new gil was brought to server B and the economy will stay stable. due to the taxes by buying and selling the gil-pool actually even shrinked, slowing down the inflation a little.
