found it (old ffxi review from game spot.) memories <3

an old ffxi ps2 review from game spot and how mmorpg used to be before WoW.

edit link fail

look up ffxi ps2 review. (posting links on the ps3 sucks.

long story short guy said mmorog are time consuming games
and it was ever quest esk but that it was a good game including combat.
memories.

Terrible link, but got me excited for MLB 11: The Show.

Oh boy fight night

BTW the link is terrible because it just links to a bunch of new PS3 games :P

Nice ^^ I wish people wouldn't review games when they first start though
If they played it for 3 months, I'm sure it would've had a higher score

Here's the link for those who don't want to search: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/fina...11/review.html

LOL Thank you!

What does it matter what FFXI got when it released? As far I recall FFXIV=/=FFXI they should of improved since then. Comparing FFXI launch to FFXIV should never be an excuse.

What are you talking about? No one was talking about XIV nor comparing it to XI.

When Final Fantasy XI first launched, it experienced many of the growing pains that many online RPGs experience in the days following their release--server instability, game balance issues, exploits, and so on.

Please tell me that this will make people stop complaining about FFXIV rawness.

People are a lot more savage when it comes to MMOs (Read: APB) all because of a 2004 MMORPG -- Plus people use the "it's 2010/2011" excuse despite the fact there's still cars and technology (cough Ipad 2 for example) being really flimsy.

So sadly, people will complain despite the fact MMOs can be very raw, especially ones that get rushed out (Final Fantasy XIV) or mismanaged (Ragnarok Online II -- look at it now.)

Well, growing up with the gaming era, I really don't understand nowadays reviews. In the psx era, any game with a score above 6 was a good game.

Nowadays, if a game has less than 8 is an awful game and almost no one will play it XD
I miss the non-biased reviews of that age :\ when that "review industry" wasn't really profitable, so they were actually... honest :D

Indeed, that explains basically everything.

Not really.

I posts it or tried as just a reminicemt to how mmo were back when ffxi launched and how they are not like that anymore. I wasn't compairing anything more of memories.

as the guy stated mmo were time consuming games. And never said it in a bad way. Where now it is different mmo + time consuming = bad.

thats what the point. kinda like a before and after.
