The Glamour Dresser sounded great...but it really isn't...

I assumed that even though the items were no longer physical that you could open the dresser, open your character armor window and be able to right click an item in a slot, choose Glamour, choose item from chest or armoire, and still directly attach similar to how it was done before. I thought Glamour plates would be a nice bonus system that would allow you to have shared armor sets have 2 different looks depend on which class currently had it equipped (that part is somewhat true). I didn’t expect everything to have to be done via the plates, even if just for a single piece.

I have been able to get back some of the stuff that I added to the chest through various means like the Calamity Salvager, but a lot of items, especially Mog Station ones I can't get again (if someone knows how to do this without having to spend real money please tell me, they do not show on the calamity salvager).

Until changes are made to the system, I strongly suggest just glamouring the old way.

I am also annoyed that the Garo items I farmed via PVP only show on the Salvager if you got the title that went with the set, in some cases I just got 1 or 2 pieces and now I will have to go through PVP hell to get them again if I really want them. Any Garo item you bought from the priest should be on the salvager, not only if the title was achieved.

they are not there for a limited time, they are mostly there to stay to be honest, you could had just keep them or you can easy refarm the piece you want to glamour since they are pretty cheap nya

Can't you still glamour the old way? The simple solution would be to not use your mog station gear on the dresser. And if you do, the game should give a warning that what you're using is a mog station exclusive item.

so because it didn't meet your expectations it's not great? man, there's already a thread for complaining about the glamour dresser. not to mention the final patch notes explicitly stated you won't be able to get your items back, this shouldn't be a huge surprise.

apparently there's some issues with putting mogstation gear into the dresser? I don't see why people are so hesitant though, most of that gear are simply for glamour and the glamour dresser would allow you to apply glamour unlimited times.

I’m hesitant to put any Mogstation gear into the Dresser because, in the event that I ever wanted to take it out, I can’t. Not without completely destroying the item. I’m basically using it for gear that I can easily craft/attain via other means; I’m not putting anything in it that I would not want to lose.

but why would you want to take it out? it's not like you'd want to wear it as an actual piece of armor, and if you want to apply it you can just put it on a glamour plate. I mean it's a little annoying but am I missing something here?

The reason why it's tied to the title achievement of a set, is because the calamity salvager works with quest and achievement flags, so it wouldn't work with individual items purchased.

Retainer/Squadron glamours for example.

Also, 200 items sound like a lot, but it's really not much for people who use multiple jobs. If you fill up the dresser you will eventually have to destroy something. So, which one, the ones that cost money or the ones you only got because RNGesus decided it?

And before someone says the same thing I've seen a hundred times "just put in the dresser items you can easily get"...
If i can easily get them why the hell would I bother to waste a dresser slot on them? If I want to glamour a calamity savager item I just go to him, buy it, use it, and then throw away the damm thing.

Because the space is limited to 200 items. As someone who has all jobs leveled and changes Glamour frequently, this could pose an issue in terms of the limited storage. I have 2 retainers still dedicated to Glamour after putting several items in the Dresser. It's not worth it to me to put an $18 cash shop item in the Dresser if I have zero choice in removing it later to free up space. Thus, I only put things in the Dresser that I won't be bothered if it ever comes down to me having to Destroy the item to free up spaces.

Honestly, all cash shop outfits should be Armoire-storable. That would eliminate this issue entirely since you can access Armoire items through the Dresser without using up any of your 200 slots.

People honestly expected a half decent customization system which was not what was delivered.

All gears of the Salvager NPC are bound by achievements. They only show up if you have the achievements of them.
And for the Garo gear you only get the achievement if you speak to the NPC wearing the full set (without the accessories).

On the flip side, those who are familiar with SE's usual style of implementation expected a shit show and were not disappointed.

I was really excited for it until I found out when you place items in it they're destroyed outside of the dresser. Combine that fact with the limited storage capacity of the dresser and you run into some problems at some point down the road because Mogstation glamour purchases will be destroyed which is a big no no to me.

Why aren't the Salvager items just automatically included in the glamour dresser, like the items stored in the armoire?

I agree, the dresser isn't everything I thought it would be. I created 3 different plates for each of my healers to have different outfits, because I thought that was the purpose of the glamour plates, to make it so each job can gave their own unique glamour. Turns out its A LOT more complicated than that. You can only change glamour plates in the city, so that means if I was running around in other zones and wanted to switch between my healers for whatever reason I am stuck with the glamour plate I first used and cannot switch between the glamour plates I made for the specific jobs.

The only thing I like about it is the room i saved in my inventory and retainers with it, and I like how you can incorporate the armoir without taking up your slots. What would really make me happy is if they increase the amount of slots, plates AND make it so you can freely change your plates outside of cities.

Something annoying that I'm glad I noticed before making some mistakes.. I "applied" a glamour plate with a weapon that wasn't dyed to my BIS weapon (dyed general purpose gold) only find out the irreversible losing of dye on original item.. only out 40k.. but still..

True. However, most of the items available at the Salvager are initially acquired, for free, either through achievements or quests (main story or sidequests), which I would assume is the reason why those items are available through the Salvager in the first place. Also, most of the items available at the Salvager would be used for glamour purposes only. I would think, at the very least, that there should be an option to apply those items to glamour plates, without the need to have them take up space in the dresser. The data is already there, I see no reason not to take advantage of it in this way.

They should of considered making a new Equipment Slot under the Feet and add in a new armoury chest for "Glamour Plates"

You make the Plate, then copy it into an item, place it into your armoury chest and equip it that way. The Plate would take priority over the glamour on your current gear unless you have nothing on that part of the plate but it would definitely be better than the current system.

The whole reason is as cumberstone as it is currently is because of the fact that adding a plate does the process of adding Glamour X times where X is the number of Glamours you want to change on your current gear. It seems the game can't handle the risk of a bunch of players overloading the system by instantly changing their gear.
