Because this needs yet another thread
I dunno.. Thancred?
Oh I need a reason. I don’t know either. He seems like he’d fit?
Well someone like yugiri (cause aura is a race only to ffxiv) would be cool i picture lyse most likely would get added due to being to front and promo character of stormblood
Derplander... I'm serious.
I've never been totally comfortable with Shantotto and Prishe as FFXI's representatives for the previous two Dissidia games same as I think Y'shtola doesn't truly 'fit' Dissidia's story either in Dissidia NT, of having the 'strongest heroes' that saved their worlds, and their corresponding villains accordingly, when those NPCs for the MMOs were more on the sidelines helping the player (or more often, simply causing problems for them), and so an actual stand-in character for the player's character would be more fitting, and for FFXIV what better than the one SE uses themselves in the opening cutscenes and propaganda for the game?
Okay, I suppose his 'real' name is Arbiert, or rather his evil-parallel-world-twin is, but I like 'Derplander' more. ;)
Therefore maybe use the boilerplate name SE used for him in the 'Waning of the Sixth Sun' video (Meteor) instead? :D And as a great axe user (a WAR Job), he would be unique gameplay wise. :D
They picked Y'shtola partly because of feeling she was one of the characters that best represented what made XIV unique, so I could I see them picking Yugiri with similar reasoning.
Arbert Derplander would be a great pick as our representative. I second that. My choice would be Thancred with his current look. I have a strong feeling it's going to be the dreaded Alphinaud, though. Villain wise, I would pick Gaius or Nero.
Gaius

So I found out from Siliconera that the developers revealed the gender, and half of Final Fantasy that they came from. First half is likely 1-9 and second is likely 10-15. Side games like Tactics also seem to count. Just for fun I’m going to write my hopes out based on the hints. Here’s the website: http://www.siliconera.com/2018/01/10...lc-characters/
New male character (from new half): Probably Ardyn, because XV is the most recent release.
New male character (from old half): I’m hoping it will be Locke Cole.
New female character (from new half): Please be Yugiri. <3 I could also see it being Fran though.
New male character (from new half): Hopefully Thancred, or Gaias, but I’m not sure if that will happen.
Female character who previously appeared in Dissidia Final Fantasy series (from new half): Likely Yuna in my opinion.
New male character (from new half): I want to say it could be one of the four Bros of XV, or perhaps Balthier. He’s so rad. <3
I’m disappointed there probably is no chance for Rydia though.
Estinien, cos best NPC is best.

Raubahn, with both arms. Let the Bull of Ala Mhigo run wild!
Or we could just send the big guns and win in one clean stroke.

We need more villains in our Dissidia, and I nominate Zenos.
OBVIOUSLY we need Godbert in there. The only clear choice for the hero side (aside from Derplander).
Villian side would most likely be either Gaius or Zenos.
Alphinaud, only because it would be glorious to beat the &*^% out of that annoying twerp.
Well, if FFXIV gets another rep then it'd need to be an antagonist to help balance things out.
Zenos, Gaius, Varis, Regula and Elidibus would be my candidates. I'd be content with any of them.
As much as I'd jump on anything with new Nero content in it, I'm gonna have to third (fourth?) Zenos. Not just because he's awesome, but because the idea of he and Sephiroth interacting amuses the hell out of me.
Elidibus might be awkward to implement since he shares a seiyuu with Kuja, but that could be amusing in its own way...
For heroes I'd probably prefer to see Thancred as I both enjoy him as a character and think I'd like his playstyle...but more realistically I think it will be Lyse if anyone (ugh), with a slight chance of one or both of the twins (since they would both bring unique playstyles to the game, and would be efficient resource-wise since they're almost identical and even shared an outfit).
I think Nero would be great. With his hammer and tech, he could play totally differently from the existing cast. Plus, Nero is just fun.
