[Dev ???]Weaver base material should be a btn gathered item , not a mob drops item

Well all i want to say is that weaver base materials should stay an item that is gathered by botany like it always have been before and not something that is drops from mobs

in the past it was always item > yarn > Cloth and that item was something collected by botany

from moko grass > cotton bolls > Flax they could be collected from mobs to but btn was the most efficient way

now with the wool thread they they ignored all the botanist
they could always enhance stuff whit mob collected items like dew tread
but the base should be something collected by btn

Either way, it's a grind. You either grind on botanist, or grind farming sheep.

Granted I rather farm sheep than get on botanist. I like the way it is now. Makes sense that the better material would be from and animal.

The material for level 51-55 cloth gear will probably be a plant from grade 6 nodes, but I see your point, and SE has probably thought about it.

I can understand what the OP is trying to say. However to be honest I never really had to farm any materials for Weaver mainly because they give so many rewards for local leves that I end up with stacks of things I really don't need. If a friend needs flax I just hasty hand a few r 30 leves and poof stack of flax in 10 min :).

Grass, Cotton and Flax all come from planets. Wool does not. It makes sense.

I have no problem mindlessly slaughtering sheep.

I did it for leather and for weaver (wool was great xp 45+). And ill do it again.

Wool coming from sheep makes sense. Even the drop rate is okay for production of sellable wares.

The issue is that wool is the only thing to really level on from around 36 to well into the 40s as a weaver.

So without a high level battle class, your DoH is doomed to drop 5k per black fleece all the way to nearly cap.

What could really solve this entire issue is static access to local leves just like other disciplines have for regional leves.

More than a year and this still hasn't been fixed.

They really do need to address that. Crafting leves shouldn't be random and gathering shouldn't have two leves for one camp.

Aye, plus it would serve to help those who enjoy DoL classes.

As it stands, if you're going to level a craft, you need to level at least one DoL, flooding the market with materials and creating more people who don't need to buy mats when crafting for profit.

Just too many reasons in favor of such a simple change.

I'd rather farm on my btn than farm those sheep. 2 hours on btn and i'd have at least 2-3 stacks of what I wanted. 2hours killing karakul sheep and you have 50-80 fleece, thats NOTHING! I can't do crap wiht 50-80 fleece. I'll farm don't get me wrong but 2 hour farming bomb ash and I'd have 2-3 stacks of bomb ash, 2 hours on karakul not even a stack. That's bs.

I really wish they would make it so I can pick up 8 DoW/DoM, 8 DoL, and 8 DoH leves for each and every camp. There should also be more than one or two leaves available for a particular level range.

And to the OP, I think all 3 types of classes need to rely on the other classes once and awhile, some items that are mob drops should be bought from DoM/DoW. If the problem is supply then they should tweak the drop rate to closer match demand.

Kidding aside not being a weaver exactly how big is the level range where wool/fleece is the best or only way to skill grind?

Woolen yarn is 40, woolen cloth is 42 and undyed felt is 44. And for the truly ambitious, karakul yarn is 48.

So pretty much karakul fleece should take a weaver from about 35 to cap.

The fact that I'd have to farm fleece, karakul fleece, snurble tufts and Gil for natron at 1k a pop is why my weaver is stuck at 35.

Simple, make the sheep come from plants!

Also FYI there are quite a few linen recipes that will take you at least to early/mid 40's.

I felt so constrained by the felt formula, too. Spent whole night can only made so little felt clothes. However, now I start worried about my bomb ash supply. Nowadays is just so hard to get them since the nanawa bombs won't drop anymore... I'm curious how #12 get so many. must be before 1.20? I don't see the bomb NW of horizon is concentrated enough to produce that much in that short time...


/nod there are bunch linen formula there at 41-50. there are ways to get lots crafting leve inside the city. you just need to do the low rank low-level one if it's taking the space... but it's not the thread to discuss this...

I didn't do much battle leve, but I still feel very guilty how much exp 2 gathering leve will give me around L36-early 40. I think single leve exp is more than battle one. and it's very easy to solo it such as grade 5 as L36. 3 leves = 1 level with guardian aspect.

I've thought about this too, because farming sheep absolutely sucked and hopefully they fix this before I reregister in 2.0. I would have enjoyed being forced to level up another class that could supplement cooking/alchemy for the future, at least I'd get more out of it than just materials :(

One thing that has been failed to mention was the rumored 'unannounced class list' that made the rounds on the interwebs right after alpha started. Lets not forget there was a "shepherd" class that probably would have dealt with herding animals to support leatherworking and weaving. We never really heard if any of the classes on that list (aside from Musketeer/Arcanist) were ever supported. So... take it as a rumor.

Shepherd would be an interesting class to add along with player housing options. Imagine your front or back yard converted into a farm; fully supported with renewable sheep for wool and, unfortunately other animals to be slaughtered for leather/horns/sinew/etc :o

Just a thought.

I fully support the implementation of 2 mage classes, another ranged, and a pet class before more crafting/gathering classes though.

i would rather see lvl 40-50 leves reward kakrul fleece as its item rather than flax and web... since i was 40 i have not even used those i just sell on retainer.. then i go switch to a 50 and farm sheep for hours on end to be able to make high lvl gear to blow up or sell.... for arm/bsm/gold i can get ingots/ore i use in almost all 40-50+ synths... wvr i hardly use and of teh crap which i get from leve rewards.. hence now i am 50 wvr i dont even touch wvr leves.... give us sumin bloody usefull other than a pure retainer sell item i say.
