Does anyone enjoy vase-off or skinchange?

The gates in the gold saucer? I like most of them, (even the bomb ones when I get caught by a blast, but I'm already way away from it around a corner...) but these two are tedious and boring.

I'd like some new gates please!

Cliffhanger? Yes
That one you copy the emotes? Yes
Vase Off? It's ok
Skinchange? Ugh, burn

I assume most people skip vase-off and that's why it's getting adjusted.

I actually like Skinchange. At this point I more or less remember where to look for the changes in every NPC set so it's a sure win for me.

Vase-Off is a mess because 1. the NPCs are a nightmare to find sometimes, 2. you need to pay the fee every time you try it if you fail. Especially if you only need to deliver 2 vases, it quickly becomes not worth the investment. I'm glad they're adjusting it.

I enjoyed it I would every once in awhile fail maybe multiple times but I enjoyed it. I pretty much figure it out the path to take to avoid the NPC's and such

I enjoy skinchange. Now that they’re increasing the reward for face-off, I’ll consider doing it more often. I seem to lose a lot to that, but part of it is I get too impatient.

I don't skip Vase Off. It's not bad once you figure out a easy path that lets you avoid the NPCs if you're paying any semblance of attention. The one I dislike is Skinchange.

But they're super easy so I do them.

I honestly don't see how anyone has issues with Vase Off, the pattern never changes. Once you figure it out, it's simple.

I hate Skinchange because the lighting itself can cause some issues. I had cases where 3 npc's looked to fit the bill from all spots, but what was APPARENTLY different was the shade of purple on the shoes. It was hard to tell because the lighting made them all look almost black.

Cliffhanger is nice. Vase off can burn in the deepest pits of heck. I hope the changes next patch make it actually bearable. Skinchange is good too.

The other GATEs are alright. I am barely ever lucky enough to outwit Typhoon though...

I wouldn't say I enjoy any of the Gates at all.

Skinchange = not bad. I sometimes do it and it's super easy by just taking a screenshot/pic.
Vase off = eh. It's not that bad, I have yet to fail it, but I often just don't feel like putting in the effort.
Cliffhanger = hate iiiiiitttt. The change they're adding about the intervals might change that. I've had a few occasions where a bomb blew up literally as it landed, so hopefully that's what it's fixing (not extremely clear).

Emote dancing = ok. I try to do this one the most just because I find it to be the easiest one and I just want my challenge log done and over with.
Anywhere the wind blows = stupid. I do it because it's easy: pick a spot and watch a quick youtube vid and just hope for a win.

So I find that I usually go for the :45 gates more than the :15 gates just because one is an easy win, and the other one is a stupid participation (and I'm still hoping to get the achievements) and they're both in the same area so I know exactly where to go every time.

Skin-change is my least favorite and I never do it. When I do, I blindly guess at the first NPC and take my chances.

Skinchange is fine. There's only one dude that ever gives me trouble and I don't see him much.

Vase off is easy but I don't like doing it. I am most likely to skip it more than any other.

Cliffhanger is fun enough.

Time of my Life is easy, if I don't mind cringing at some of the WoL's weird noises.

Wind Blows is certainly the easiest to do. Pick cactus of choice to stand on, and go do something else for a couple of minutes.

It would be nice to have a couple more to mix it up but these are fine. I'm not mad at the changes though, and the glamour game seems to be a good way to get some decent MGP, apparently you can get up to 60k from it.

I prefer Cliffhanger and am glad they are fixing it so bombs dont just suddenly drop on you and explode immediately. (At least I hope that is what patch notes was saying...)

I personally find "Any Way the Wind Blows" the worst of all GATEs by far, simply because there's no gameplay to it - Standing somewhere hoping not to get hit is boring.

I don't have strong preferences for the other GATEs one way or the other. I occasionally do them when I pass by the saucer, whatever happens to be up, but it's not something I'd wait or set the clock for.

Skin change is pretty fun.

Skinchange is fun and takes a modicum of effort. Way better than the easy and brainless dancing GATE.

Skinchange is probably one of my favorite GATEs. It's one of the few that require paying attention (the only others being the bomb ones) and I can often complete it in 30-60 seconds.

Vase-off has a nice payout for how easy and fast it can be done. it'll be even better now. I do wish the patterns would change though. It's what keeps it from being enjoyable. Just do the same path every time and there's pretty much only one NPC you have to stop to avoid.

I am sitting on like 2 mil mgp after buying everything possible so you know I enjoy the Gold Saucer. Even though I make most my money racing I like the mini gate games as well;


Vase off is mindless, the path is very easy. I enjoy doing it so fast but if they added in some randomness where the delivery spots maybe exciting.

Cliffhanger is run and done for both of them, I normally always make it up in one go.

Skinchange can be tricky, usually the thing i mess up most on is facial hair and tails. I do enjoy the minor challenge.

Wind Blows is just stand afk for a bit... sometimes if i notice someone that wants to be alone i chase after 'em, if we both get knocked off they blame me and that's a fun diversion.

Time of my Life is awful cause people don't know how to temporarily mute emotes so you get spammed or you gotta switch to another chat tab. People can be very incconsiderate in this regard, without the muting its a very spammy affair.

The vase is super easy. There is an easy path to win without getting caught.

Skinchange is easy, but I got bored of it because sometimes it takes me a while to spot the difference and becomes time consuming.

Fungah is a lottery, so it's not stupid. You win some, you lose some. I discovered a sweet spot where I win approximately 75% of the time. Cha-Ching!!!

The bombs is my favorite. They shouldn't change it. The randomness of the explosion timers and drops is the fun part!

The emote one is the longest game, but the easiest by far.

I mean, I can do Vase Off easy enough, I'm patient enough for it. But of the group, I find it the most boring. I'd maybe be more up for it if the NPCs were more obvious/visible, maybe even with indicators of their visual range.

Skinchange isn't bad when you know which bits to look for. It almost always comes down to 2 that look close enough, and the rest are quick and easy to disqualify.

I mean they're all kind of ehhhh aside from both Cliffhangers. The one I don't do at all is Skinchange because the dark lighting in the Gold Saucer makes it incredibly difficult to spot any minute differences.

Out of all of them, Skinchange is the one I am most likely to skip. The one I hate the most is Any Way the Wind Blows, which has burned up more of my time without a payout than all the other GATEs combined. I'm glad adjustments have been made to both of them to make them more worth doing.

I don't mind vase off. As others have mentioned, once you've established the path, then there's really just one or two NPCs you have to worry about. I like how it sometimes throws a curveball at you, and makes you go after 3 vases.

I'm also glad they are adding additional emotes to Time of My Life, which is by far my favorite GATE to do. However, I do wish you would get bonus MGP for getting a perfect score.

The skin change one is less tedious if you just use first-person mode to look at the characters instead of going into the rigid “take a closer look” menu. (Though the effectiveness of that might vary depending on your character’s height/viewpoint.)

I don’t currently bother with Vase Off. It’s too hard to spot the enemies or know what their range of sight is.

Not a fan of Skinchange. Sometimes it's super obvious but I do make a point to look at all the NPCs "just in case." I dislike when the differences are incredibly minuscule because at that point it becomes tedious and not worth bothering with IMO. So I skip this GATE nearly all the time unless I'm literally in there with nothing better to do.

Will do Vase-off simply because it's incredibly easy once you have the route down. I admit, since it's the same thing every time that it's boring, but I rather do that than potentially have to look closely at several NPCs.

I don't enjoy either GATE. The fact that there's been pretty much no change/variance in Vase-off since it was introduced and Skinchange is just "bleh," means the only GATE I still derive any enjoyment from anymore is Cliffhanger. Time of my Life feels braindead and Any Way the Wind Blows is just sit in one of the "safer" spots and wait. They really should've considered updating/changing at least a few of these GATEs at some point in time and not let them stagnate so.

That's a long route... its simpler to continue along from event square to wonder, go up the stairs avoiding the one roe (whats on here as the third delivery) then back down the stairs, then over to the water fountain on the other side and use it to jump you up to the last guy.

Meh. These days I don't do gates much at all and just get the weekly challenge log mgp rewards, mini cactpot, and consolation prizes from the jumbo cactpot. I have a lot of mgp and I already long ago bought what I wanted from prizes is basically the reason for being lax about it. I don't do the emote one, but I do the others.

I hate both Vase Off and Skinchanger. I refuse to do either of them.

Skinchanger is by far my favorite GATE in the Saucer. My grandparents used to get a newspaper that had those "Spot the six differences" bit in the Sundays, and I really liked doing those, so Skinchanger was super easy the first time I did it. I like the two Cliffhangers and Vase Off, I don't really like Any Way the Wind Blows because it's all RNG, and I just refuse to do Time of your Life. I have short term memory issues so I have problems with it. I'll be like........okay, 1, 5, 2, 2, 1, then it's time to actually repeat them and i'll be like "Okay......1, 5, 3, 1, 2" when it's actually time to do it.

I like both GATES. I caught on learning them in a short amount of time.

However, for the Skinchange, there is one special shirtless blond male Roe who I have to look very closely, even with the screenshot function.

Every other client had noticeable differences from facial hair, earrings, weapons, tattoos, clothing, etc.

I enjoy Vase Off (it was difficult the first two or three times, but once I got the npc walking cycles down it's piece of cake), Skinchange is okay but the lighting sometimes mess things up.

The only GATE that I actually dislike is the dance one, because I can't tell which emotes are which, plus I react too slowly and can never finish a whole routine before time runs out.

Test out the emotes during the 'waiting period', and pair up with the dancer that matches your race/gender*. Look out for the occasional trick ones - eg. I remember 'pray' and 'kneel' are very close (just a different hand movement) and have had both in the set a few times.

* annoyingly for Hyuran players, there seems to be only one Hyuran dancer there at a time, but Midlander and Highlander emotes are different. I've found it's better to pair up with the Miqo'te girl than the Highlander - her emotes are much closer to Midlander ones.

Also you don't need to finish performing the emote before you hit the next button, if that's slowing you down.

Skinchange: Rather like it, really simple

Vase-off: Hate it, waste of time imo.

If i happen to stop by the saucer while a gate is active i usually go play whatever one it is. If im there a 2-5 mins early, ill often stay and wait for the next gate to spawn. The exception: I will never do the skinchange with any Roe NPC(they are basically impossible to tell apart), and i wont wait for skinchange to spawn because it might involve a roe.

My favourite is the cliffhanger since it's consistently the quickest and the easiest one, followed by vase off where if you follow a set path it's pretty impossible to fail it. I am in a love hate relationship with skin change though since sometimes the differences are so subtle that I'd rather believe the game bugged out. Time of my life is a snooze fest and I can't even look during funguh since I am scared that I'll get a salt induced heart attack on the spot.

I don't mind them at all but Vase off is my kryptonite
