It's impossible to get in via DF these days, and there are still items locked in there that some might want to attain, or new people who want to catch up. Why not just buy a voucher and go straight there? You can always party up with like-minded people once inside if they happen to be around. It really doesn't need a party and timer anymore, it imakes more sense to just treat it like another area these days, at least it will get some use. It's of no use at all if you cannot even get in.

You can take an FC airship with just 2 people.

Still, even within an FC, interest is low. I agree, we should be able to enter solo now, if only as DoL to gather. You couldn't kill much in there on your own, but for gatherers it makes sense to still want to access the area.

Well, considering the lack of housing for FCs, that still poses an issue. To use an airship, you have to have access, and unless you have friends in an FC with airship access, you have to have your own FC with a workshop and an airship that can actually take you to Diadem.

I think it would be a good idea to allow for solo entrance as a DoL into Diadem.

This game lacks FC content, I don't think they'll ungate diadem and take away the one thing that IS FC content.

They're adding submarines in 4.2, as far as I know. That's new FC content.

Besides, what does it matter if the Diadem becomes normal content, when it's pretty much dead as FC content?

The only thing you miss out from not getting into diadem is a mount and a minion

You can try posting a PF. Asking for a few quick runs just to farm the tokens for these items?

I agree they should do something about diadem, I don't see that content being accessible a year or two from now with the forced level sync and forced party matching.

With where we are in the gear cycle I see no reason not to open it up and let folks group up just as they do for A or S Ranks in the open world. They could still keep the need for a ticket but let us go when we wish whether solo or as part of a party.

If access to old content few people have interest in is being used as a selling point for your FC, there is a problem.

I'm in agreement to let people go into Diadem unsynched, regardless of party make up. It's not like they're going to go back and change it or anything.

There are a bunch of Diadem-only crafting materials. As just one example, take a look at the fished-up Pterodactyl, used to craft Pterodactyl Leather, which is used in all kinds of things!

While I know what you're getting at, Pterodactyl (and all the other Diadem 1.0 materials) were added to the red scrips vendor.

However, the Diadem 2.0 materials are still Diadem-only. (Cloud Mythril Ore etc.)

What...what do you think content is?

Do you just not count raiding as content since it takes weeks/months of diligent work/effort by a group of people to finish progression?

It may not be content you want, but it certainly is content.

Yep not gonna deny it. I do not consider most of this games "FC content" FC content. Almost all of it is limited to the workshop and diadem being the only battle content based objective. I mean you guys are welcome to consider it FC content, more power to ya.

sure, you can call it "FC content" but it has always been open to all, FC or not. That isn't the case anymore, it's impossible to get in any other way now. In the end, it's just old content. It has more than simply "a mount and a minion", but even so, why should new players coming through be denied it? they could add exp I suppose, that might get more back in the queue, but really there's not much need to change it at this late stage. Just let people in.

Diadem was iffy content from the beginning. It doesn't offer any real challenge or storyline component that necessitates / benefits from a group. At this point, they should allow entry either solo or as a party, at level 70 rather than level synced. Ease up the farming as necessary so people can access the items it offers (mount, minion, gathering stuff) with relative ease. There is absolutely no valid reason to gate access behind PF, DF queues, or FC airships at this point in FFXIV's lifespan.

More FC content is nice but not gated behind housing since not every FC is able to get a house. So it would be just fair if it would be available for everyone.

I still find it funny that the only content that you consider "FC content" is content that wasn't even exclusive to FCs at its initial release. You could queue up for Diadem 1.0 at the Ishgard airship landing. FC airships merely allowed groups to queue up for the hard difficulty, after unlocking it (while the rest were limited to easy/normal).

All they'd have to do is re-enable the Ishgard part, and add the unsync option (like all the other HW DF content).

I need a lot of dark steel ore and next to that one timed place you can only harvest it in bigger amounts in Diadem..so I tried to get into the gatherer one on different days and hours..after waiting at least half an hour I gave up on each attempt. You need to be lucky to have a premade group going into it with some space left..yet even then you might not get into it. I already waited with 7 out of 8 players needed and people just gave up after some time. It is sad that this content is that death.

I mean I am not sure if you are able to do much as a fighter in there if you go alone but at least one can try. But for us gatherers this would be great because we dont need others to gather.

So please SE let us unsynch this.

What SE can do is make Diadem increasing in difficulty every patch and include new items people would want, like glamour, minions & mounts. Also, make the one random drop from the Emergency fight the highest iLevel weapon in game. That'll keep people going in. It'll be like a open world raid that will stay relevant when increasing in difficulty.

It doesn't need a fix, it didn't need one in the first place. At least not in the way they tried to fix it. It was actually kinda fun before, then turned into yet another fate grind.
At this point I'd say, don't "fix" it again, just open it up, so people can actually access the area. Will mostly be interesting for gatherers, but I actually like the idea of being able to enter as lv70.

But Diadem isn't FC only content, you can just enter as an undersized party with an FC airship, which is less annoying then waiting for the queue in Ishgard. It doesn't even need to be your FC, so long as there's someone with access to that FC's airship and everyone has their fuel, it's free game. :B

It was nearly death on arrival content. Putting more and more stuff behind that will not change that. Most people just dont want to do it, even when the weapon was still the highest. (Too much RNG to bother) Also having the highest weapon in such an boring and easy content + RNG is just bad. There is still a big amount of minions and and a mount behind it and on top of that some unique mats yet yesterday I gave up after waiting over 90 minutes on it..not a single person joined in that time.

Letting it stay how it is (I mean we have the second version of it and barely anyone likes it) and just opening up for solo play would be better, at least for gathering stuff. And to get the pets and minions they could simply include those with the gathering map too.

But maybe this is what I'll do this weekend. Knock out a couple Diadem achievements for the heck of it.

I would love to be able to go there for the few minions, and for the emergency missions thing(which I never got to take part in because it always seemed to pop when I wasn't home).

It is because of the minions and gathering items that it needs to be opened up. Folks can go gather and when the minion Fates pop switch to combat and group up for the Fate.
