Tech support forum is ignoring posts and closing threads

The tech forum for FFXIV has topics that moderators are now clearly moving to "closed" without addressing the concerns of the OP.

I just thought you all should take a look at how many of the topics that were trashed and moved there without even a moderator's reply.

Including the terrible lag and rubber banding issues that happen every night around prime time.

I just looked, and most of the ones I clicked on were self resolved or missing information.

Or outside the scope of the tech support forum.

In fact, I'd say they are pretty active in trying to help out, taking a peek in the support forum, not the closed one, shows activity from support personnel in most of the threads.

This was a silly thing to make a thread about, considering how incorrect the subject is.

Seems like you are just trying to start a witch hunt.

Nearly over half of the first page are actually resolved(I stopped checking out the other threads cuz I could see it was a waste of time). Also, you don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Players may have filed ticket support and have them responded.

I'd go on but the real question is this: what are you fishing for OP? If you have an issue that didn't get solved, just come out and say it >_>

I also checked the threads there and they are either already addressed, self corrected or missing information. One was a simple mistake in which the op didn't use return instead of teleport. So apparently it is not just one person's perspective.

Seems like the "Constant 90002 error" thread where people from all data centers have actively posted since July has been closed without a response. There are still new threads being opened about the same issue, so clearly it is not resolved.

Could be cause due to the DDOS attack they announced already so there isnt a point to respond to 235236235 threads about it when its on the Lodestone?

Not all the people posting have been from data centers affected by DDOS and not all posts were posted during DDOS.

But DDOS been going on and off since SB launch...

Longer than that. Major nodes in NA (not just directed at just FFXIV) have been under attack for the last 18 months at least.

Welcome to Internet forums.

If anything, they've recently become MUCH more active and willing to help I've noticed. There must have been some management change or something up there, because this is the most hands-on they've been with ever and it's great.

No like up to this post before now on this post. It would be nice if the people on the forum actually communicated with people, when Blizzard locks a thread, they write a post saying exactly why they are locking the thread. It would be nice if we got this from the SE guys at least.

Troll thread or Drama queen? Who knows...

I can attest to missing info as I made a thread about the controllers but forgot to add in the info or should have just put it in general, either way it wasn't "resolved" but it was closed. Would have been nice for at least a response saying they were closing it due to lack of info or w/e.

I think the real travesty of those forums are the cookie-cutter responses. Like the guy with the choppy FPS after Alt+Tabbing getting a canned reply from a rep about how the dungeon graphics might be too much for his video card and out-of-date drivers when he posted he was using a GTX 1080 with the latest available updates. I really don't think downgrading to DirectX 9 and lowering the resolution will fix the framerate issues he only encounters after switching between applications. If the rep was actually going to help they would have prompted for more information like his hardware configuration and what applications he's switching to.

I'm glad SE is interacting with us more but if that's the level of help they're going to provide, then...

Yeah but the thread in question was started in 2015, I believe was when the very first post was made. And had been posted in since.

OMG the tech support didn't have any active moderators posting until 2 days ago, so at least be glad they're there now.

Most (90%) or so of the lag and rubber banding is an ISP routing problem and as such, SE can't do a damn thing about it, except, I guess, move the server in your back yard. These threads should be closed and the respective posters should address the issues with their ISP. Even in the other 10% which is affected by DDoS attacks, there is no active remedy for this. It will just have to pass. They're doing the right thing closing these threads. Im further away than most players on the US servers, and I've managed to get a good stable connection with them using a VPN which proves these problems are simply nodes being affected by DDoS attacks or simply routing issues with your ISP.

Yeah and about a good 80%+ of those threads are OLD threads from things like Bug Reports or other places on the forums where they didn't belong. Them cleaning the forums up so there aren't a million "FIX THE LAG" threads in General Discussion is a good thing. If you look at the last page on there, the topics are from 2013.

There is little point to keep those in the wrong sections where they don't belong.

Note, there ARE some threads outright missing - I posted a bug report that has disappeared completely. Not too worried about it though; it was very minor and didn't impact gameplay.

I suspect that the shuffling of topics is happening directly in the database, and a lot of topics may have been temporarily pulled out why they get sorted through.

This coming from someone who didn't do their research on the subject matter.
Prove your case...or please go away.

Valid...hard..cold..facts....actual..proof. Otherwise...your the one who is incorrect here. I'm talking about the why...not the statistical thingy you pulled out of your hat and said "this is a thing"

This thread is still a thing? Look if you got an issue with the Tech Support mods then take it up with them. The first response to this post solved this thread.
