kinda weird that lvl 50 and 70 gear can be bought from them but not 60?
50 and 70 sets cannot be obtained in any other way, but the level 60 AF sets can be obtained via Centurio seals. No "need" to put them in the vendor
IIRC, 60 is still available using hunt seals in Foundation whereas 50 and 70 were quest gear so the calamity salvager is the only source should they be deleted. The calamity salvager's purpose generally is to sell items that aren't available anywhere else anymore.
To add on what was already said, the HW job gear pieces were bought with end-game Tomestones from 3.0 to 3.3.
The HW job gear is equivalent to the Mythological Tome gear from 2.0; it wasn't given through job quests, it was bought with tomes.
Myth job gear is gained through getting tokens from dungeons now.
But now upon reaching Lv60 as any of the jobs, you are given the AF2 in a coffer. The big question is also this; why can't the AF1.5, AF2/2.5, and AF3 be stored in the Armoire?? Only the AF1 can be stored.
AF1.5 was tomestone gear and is just a different color of AF1. I'd rather be able to put Augmented AF1 into the Armoire.
AF2 was tomestone gear.
AF2.5 doesn't exist.
AF3 honestly should be able to go into the Armoire, don't see why it shouldn't. :\
You augment it with the upgrade items, but it's still the same set of gear.
I never heard anyone call the i210 version AF2.5.
I mean, you have the AF1.5 that can be dyed, so that's what I thought it was at first. I only had NIN60 AF2 gear. None of my other jobs are at 60 yet (I'm getting there) because I enjoy playing Ninja too much lol
the AF 1.5 can't be dyed. it's the ilvl 90 AF set wich was bought with capped tomestones back in 2.0. it has a slightly different color than the AF 1 and has the higher ilvl.
but you can upgrade the actual AF 1 to make it dyeable, but the stats will not increase this way.
I've seen this question asked many times, and I never actually see anyone give a reason aside from "Because you can obtain it elsewhere".
In my mind, the reason why these aren't in the Calamity Salvager is because you can desynthesize them and because you can turn them in for seals. If they were available from the Calamity Salvager, they would quickly become a dirt-cheap source of Battlecraft Demimateria IIIs (and various other materials), and a cheap way to convert gil to GC seals.
I would much prefer if they added this gear (and the i90 set) to the Calamity Salvager, even if it means losing the ability to desynth / turn-in the gear.
You're more or less burning an entire desynth tier like that. I know there are alternatives for those ilvls but I'd much rather have something like this I can farm instead of having to go, iono, through Void Ark and then Gordias Savage (unsynced now at least). Centurio seals gives a very smooth and farmable way to raise almost all the desynths.
