Anti-Aliasing or lack there of

Hi all, sorry if this is posted in the wrong section I'm new here and really was curious if this question has ever been talked about.

anti-aliasing, as it sits to my knowledge in the game, is only limited to FXAA which in itself is a nice option but for most, it adds more blur then they would like... are there any plans to add more options to AA? I personally would like to to see MFAA compatibility... but at the very least let users with more capable machines to use SMAA or MSAA.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't mind having dynamic scaling as well. Basically its told to render at 3840x2160 on the GPU and scaled to a 1920x1080 monitor.

Failing that, better AA options would be great.

The game will need a graphic engine update to implement new graphical options like new AA methods and better textures or anything else.
As far as I know they do not plan a graphic update soon unless they secretly working on it.
More AA options and better textures are on my wishlist. And for the love of Hydaelyn the game needs a sound update as well. The most annoying technical aspect of the game is the lack of ability to switch to Headphones via front panel on PC without restating the game itself. Even games more 8 years old can do this.

Whatever graphic engine 1.0 was running on would be great.

One of the oldest requests since 2.0 first launched. Better aa and better textures.. both of which are long overdue.

The engine from 1.0 wasn't actually very well suited for the type of graphical fidelity that the devs were pushing for and 1.0 only looked as good as it did because of the insanely massive polygon count. Current graphic engines are able to render better visuals with lower counts so stepping back to that engine would not really be all that helpful. The game doesn't really need a new graphical engine, it needs better textures to cover our polys.

Also, as a note... I run 4K and have AA turned off entirely since at that resolution it doesn't make a difference.

I still have the 1.0 benchmark.. It looked great! - 7 years ago. Now, it doesn't look that good really. The character models have some better texture mapping (or depth or w/e) on the clothing, but like, world textures overall? not much different.

Maybe a possible texture pack or would that also require an overhaul on the engine.

Always in support of the optional HD Texture Pack idea.

I think an OPTION to use higher res textures and/or modes would be very nice for people who did invest a lot in graphic hardware. I don't think the OP ever mentioned taking AWAY the lower graphic settings.

Its called an optional set of settings. Im sorry that you can't afford a PC that could handle graphic changes, but why have this mindset to not allow others if they can? Its a bit childish honestly.

I'd gladly pay $60.00 (the price of an expansion) for an HD texture pack. I bring out the money part because, lets be honest, there a business and not a charity. If they go to to the SE Board and say we have XX,XXX number of people willing to pay XX.XX, they can then get a budget, hire some people, generate the goods and ta da... If only they would allow us to fund them like a kickstarter.

Well, except for how poorly it ran as an MMO, that wouldn't be great.

It was Crystal Tools by the way, the same engine FFXIII used - solid for single player and cutscenes, not so much for MMO worlds, so they ended up building their own engine for this version of the game.

You could actually get better performance and improved graphics with a newer game engine to be honest. There's a reason most game companies don't make their own game graphics engines.
