Movement cancels mount summoning

I would've posted this in a more specific forum section, but I found none.
Anyway, it's just a minor matter, but I really wish they would bring back being able to mount during movement. Now, movement cancels the summoning of your mount.

We had this back in ye olde v1, and it made the flow of movement/chocobo riding really smooth.

I didn't even remember chocobos existing in 1.0. What patch were they introduced?

some time around or before 1.19

I've been wanting to be able to summon our Bos while moving for the longest time. I never knew it used to be that way. I am definitely on board, and don't see any drawbacks from it.

Likely tied to spells and would mean spells would work on run.

Pretty sure that was just the massive server lag to client response.

I wouldn't mind this.

Speaking of chocobo.. I think right clicking on them when they're out as a companion should instant mount. Not this right click, right click again and then click mount from a menu. I played another game where if you mounted from behind, the animation was of your character jumping on and immediately causing the mount to start sprinting forward at full speed. Whereas from the side, it was hop up and on like normal.

Just left over scraps that they didn't change from pre ARR days really. It would be nice but it's unlikely to ever happen to see us actually mount instead of vanishing and appearing on the mount. Possibly if they make a new MMO down the road it might but I hear they don't really have plans to make another one, since they can keep adding to this one.

I think it was essentially an instant cast at that time; your mount, however, would initially appear behind you and run up to your position, just as they continue past your position when disappearing, iirc.

For quite a while you could cast while moving. Even the longer spells like stoneskin. Thaumatages could kite and cast. Fun times to be had.

That would be great and really fun to do!...

I do it all the time but it's not as good as it would be if we could cast while moving, all I do is summon a mount and when the cast time is over I start running which has a similar look and effect but must be just server lag!...

1.0 seemed to have instant casts as said above but I don't see the animation mentioned, click here to see!...

Oh yeah, spellcasting and movement... Would have been great, too. That one I see the reasoning behind, though. But I don't see why the summoning of a mount can't be done while moving. :/

Animation-lock stopped you from moving. It nailed your feet on the ground until the animation ended.

False - you'd start running, and while still running you could call your chocobo without hampering your movement, and transitioning to mounted movement.

I would like this too. Even if it is tied to spell casting there are instant cast spells that can be cast while moving so I don't see why that should hinder mounting while moving.

You can't move while calling, but you can at least start moving after the 'casting' bar has finished but before the chocobo actually appears.

But yes, it would be better to be able to instant-cast it so you don't have to stop and wait.
