FFXIII-2 Demo out

I know this is "ffxiv" but being this is the general section I'm surprised there wasn't someone in the past 2 days going hey guys! Demo for another ff!.
Anyways, its on xbox live and psn store.

I have to say I only "liked" 13 and didn't care for the story at all. (Then again ever since FF10 I haven't felt a direct immersive connection to any characters in any of their story lines at all, but I guess thats why they're remaking ff10 for the ps3)

Can't say about 13-2's story from the demo but compared to 13 on all other aspects I went from liked a little(13) to loving it(13-2). It's pretty addicting to grind in. Shock and awe'd. Found myself replaying it for a few hours yesterday and today.
My favorite part is the monster catching and the fact you can get up to 5 ATB within the first hour if you hold off on unlocking the other stuff. Changing leaders mid-battle is pretty sweet too. I "do" like the mid cutscene attack buttons however its a little distracting (for my brain type). I find myself focusing on what buttons will pop up in a second instead of the beauty of whats actually happening in the game haha. Still cool though when I remember to focus on the cutscene instead.

I've thought about downloading it or just waiting for the game to drop at the end of the month. I've got so many games to play. XIV, Skyrim, and soon XIII-2... Where will I find the time to do everything. :S

ohhhh if your still here with all of us die harders for 14 I'm sure youll love the demo, give it a go. For the first time in along time with something from SE I can honestly say you won't be disappointed haha.

Demos been out for a couple days for NA's , no PS3 atm, so can't even try it :(.. I hope they come out with a PS3/FF13-2 combo so I can buy it :P :)

Im gonna be having 13-2 on my main TV while playing 14 on my Monitor :P :) never miss a beat... I hate that 13-2 comes out at the end of the month.. wish it was a weekend release.. damn month end paper work at work I cant get out of :P

I know I am actually excited, I lent my mom my PS3 who lives a few hours away, and def do not feel like driving there and back to get it lol... also since she enjoys it so much.. I hope they do they release a combo pack for it so I can be a sucker and buy it lol.. one thing I loved about 13 was the story, and hope they did a great job expanding, all the extra tidbits I have heard about the game, make it all that more appealing to me..

I am the manager at my work, so I can't leave for days.. especially not month end it sucks.. but you bet your ass I will be clocking out mad early on Feb 3rd(Fri) and will not be stopping till I gotta go in on Monday lol

Hell yes!! They're actually doing DLC for once too. Remember the monster arena from 10? 13-2 getting something like that called colleseum (sp). Except all the mobs are DLC. Right now only omega is in it though. And lightning too (wierd lol)
(heard some things about story DLC and weapons/costumes too)

Yes the new Monster Colliseum looks like its going to be awesome :) and I actually like the whole DLC stuff, they could potentially create new content down the road, or even make mini-expansions to expand on.. alot of possibilities with DLC, I for one hope they add a ton of DLC, just make it at a reasonable price or in bundles..

Not sure if you all remember but I think I put 80 hours + in the arena in 10 and only like 45 50 in everything else haha.
I just hope this one repeats that replayability. (new game + is in too I saw)

10 was my favourite FF of all time.. Tidus!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol oh and Blitzball was the shit.. I was a masochist who captured 10 of every monster for that damn arena, I did practically everything in that game to the fullest.. and yes as long as they dish out cool DLC's.. Ill be willing to pay for em lol

I'm quite pleased with the demo, and I was shocked at how large it is.

While fighting my medics weren't healing my characters even though they had 30% health or less. =(

I'm sure that will get fixed, but it was disappointing!

yea you can, and on 4 roles. (youll get tired before you hit level 40 on just one of them though).
Eventually I'm sure the CP cost will get so high vrs the monsters itll start taking an hour just to get one level up but you can keep going that high in the demo for sure. I got to 5 ATB bars and fully infused 3 monsters (max lvl on all you can catch) and lvl 40 com lvl 39 rav and that was about it , this took about 3 hours haha.
I think next time I load Ill just leave it on for later instead of killing atlas , fun thing to do to fill up time maybe see if theres an ultimate COM ability like fang had by lvl 50/55 haha

Late response but the demo is actually fairly lengthy for a new age demo, if you do the available side quests (The Cieth mission, the two capsules) as well as actually talk to the people and level yourself up a bit. The typical completion time doing all of this based on a lot of people I know and youtube uploads is about 40 min ~ 1 hour.

I finished after about 2 hours. Was great

I hate it. I dont understand what people like on this game. Maybe the totally ugly moogle. Story is nothing, characters are nothing. Battles are automatic and gameplay has nothing to do with final gantasy. The game itself has nothing to do with FF. They just implemented some ugly moogle and chocobo girl fanservice stuff. Wouldn't mind if the title was something different but if SE wants to go with action games they should create another game series. I want to see SE lose with that bullsh.

Not that you've played the full game or anything, but this kind of response is to be expected by gamers these days, no wonder people can review a game they've never played lol, they don't have to play a game to know all it encompasses and can spew off a full opinion of it.

Though I suspect you're just trolling because if FFXIII and XIII-2 has nothing to do with FF neither did FFVI or FFV because they're exactly alike to each other in story make up and flow.

And we all know how much people consider FFVI one of the best FFs around.

I played FFXIII and yes I just played the demo of FF13-2 but it was enough. I liked evey other FF title from the main series. Even FFVII was something new and I liked it. So that's not the reason. Like I said, it just doesn't feel like a FF in any way. The Last Story feels more FF than this :P maybe it's the price of trying to make games for the mainstream. Nvm..

You do make a good point, I think what has hurt the franchise more than anything is trying to cater to the west (at Wada's hands) when it was already fairly popular in the west to begin with...

Yea FF's haven't been the same story wise since 10, and I'm still baffled how 12 got a 40/40 on famitsu to this day. Everything in 12 was good but the story connection immersing you as a character was not there.

And 13 is 13-2 but with everything we wanted the first time. I had a feeling someone was going to bring up VII before I finished reading, just because its not 7 doesn't mean its fail I hate that. 10 was better then 7 anyway. And dont tell me I dont like 7 cause I have seph's sword real size sitting above my monitor......

Ever since they announced 10 was getting a remake for ps3 and not 7 the cry babies whine everything 7 this n that. Let it go, its a different time and place and 7 wasn't "that" great, the main bad and good guy were.

How2"real"FF when each one is different?

Downloaded the demo, and Loved it. Really had a good time with the demo and am looking at getting my hands on the full game at some point. Don't think I'll pick it up at launch, but all in all I'm very excited. :)

It really felt much more polished over XIII and that's to be understandable considering that they had two more years. I know when it comes out I'll be torn between XIV, and XIII-2. With jobs on their way, I'm bound to be sucked back into XIV hardcore for a while. :)
