Does movement give you any stat improvement in battle?

I was wondering, back when I used to play Aion; they had a system in where when you moved forward you would get a bonus on the offense, backward would give a defense, and sides would help with dodge.
My question is; does FFXIV has any mechanics such as this one?

P.S. I started FF like a month ago, and I’m in love with the game! :cool:

Not as much as improvement if anything certain actions when positioned do give some advantage. Check out the Job guide and see certain jobs have actions that give more damage. Some examples; DRG and MNK

Some roles like monk do more damage if from the side or rear of the enemy. They have what are called positionals. I don't know of any for movement per se.

MNK & DRG have several abilities that increases potency when performed from a certain direction (flank or back).

I haven't played NiN yet but I think they have too?

if you have the Augmented version can carry you to 55-57 ish you can use dungeon gear or craft. Then go for Augmented shire gear or event gear in wolfes den. will carry you to 65, then dungeon gear again to 69 and go for high end tome gear or raid gear. IF you have current relic weapon, maxed out should cary you to 65-67

The only jobs that have positionals are melees DPS: MNK, DRG, NIN and SAM. Other than that, no other job has them. :)

Bards don't have any positional but there is a "sweet spot" distance wise where you do more damage. I believe it's between 10 and 15 yalms. Practice with a striking dummy to get a feel for it but you will do slightly more damage than you would if you were closer/ farther than that.

Bard does not have a distance mechanic like this. Just want to point that out. You will do the same amount of damage at a distance of 5 yalms that you would at 10 or 15. You just want to be in range of all party members for them to get the passive Crit Up buffs from songs, in range for AOE heals/cards, and in range so that Foe's affects the target (fairly simple because Foe's is 25 yalms).

Edit: And by that, I mean HyoMin is completely right. If there is even a distance buff like this on BRD, I have never noticed it in 2 years of on-and-off BRDing. I have never heard anyone else ever mention it or bring it up, and you can bet your ass that if something like this even existed, the raiders would've figured it out 2 seconds after it was first implemented.

TL;DR: Stop spouting lies when someone is asking for help.

To answer the OP's original question: There is no such thing as the mechanic you described in your original post. This game's battle system is relatively simple, when it comes down to it.

In XI maybe. At one point during XIV PvP this was true (it got removed) but never in PvE.

This is misinformation.

The only instance of this existing was strictly for PvP, and it has since been removed.

The distance based damage was present in 1.0.
It was removed at some point in the 1.x updates. Hasn't ever returned.
