Minions as Pokemon?

Does anyone think that this would a great idea? We already have the collecting, just add abilities and give us the option to face each other in a turn based fashion. ( Insert take my money meme)

they tired they with Verminon, it died on release

Verminion is more of a rts tower defense. Not even a minion vs minion game type

I would love a minigame like battle pets on WoW. That's way more fun that the verminion that we got instead.

Strategic turn based mini-game seems the major consensus as a gold saucer addition. I just hope someone asks the question at the next QA

We had that in FFXI.. pankitron or w.e it was way fun but died out like most things. I think it would be a nice thingy to add here.

This. That was one of my favorite things in WoW before I quit to come play FF14 about the time Pandaria was gasping for air. Then, when I looked at verminion, I realized I didn't even want any part of it. But, something like the WoW thing or some such, with all necessary copyright issues safely dodged, would be fantastic. Not holding my breath but its a nice thought nonetheless. ^_^

The issue with this is WoW already had the basis for critter finding in game, they had little critters that ended up being used as pets later on. XIV has no such thing beyond the minions. There are a lot of minions in the game but a lot of them are absurdly hard to get, it's not a bad idea but it would be a lot more work on trying to collect them, WoW also has multiple of the same pet allowed in different rarities, XIV doesn't have anything to that nature. Then there's the rarity issue and balance, would people like it if say Alexander or some very rare minion wasn't more powerful than the average minion you can buy off the mb for a handful of gil? People already complain massively about job balance I could only imagine the storm of complaints about this minion being too powerful or that minion, then you have people abusing the system. Lastly if no reward it's unlikely for anyone to want to do it other than people that really love that sort of thing.

TBH I've done the wow version quite a bit, barely touched PvP and it's still enjoyable so even if they did something like triple triad where there are just npcs with their set of minions you can fight I think it would be fine. The minions actually already have move sets, speed, attack stats, etc in LoV.

Since it would give MGP being part of GS, all the rewards in the saucer which are regularly updated in any case would still sort of act like rewards and LoV already has exclusive minions.

Apparently you've never had a battle between Wolf Pup and Coeurl Kitten, or Louisoix vs. Bahamut :p

i would love if we get something like this. as some others said, verminion is a disappointment.

turn based + cross server match making for 1on1 minion battles (they can add the 2:2 and 3:3 like in the real Pokemon games later after they implement 1:1 and make it work properly)!!!
