Showerthought Dissipation change

So uhh, I was taking a warm shower when suddenly I came up of a possible change for dissipation that could be fun if implemented correctly. The change would be . . .

Dissipation: Orders your pet away while allowing performance of aetherflow actions without consuming aetherflow. Pet is re-summoned after duration ends. Also increases healing received by party members by 10% within a 20 yalm radius. Healing increase duration: 30s. Unlimited Aetherflow duration: 10s. 180s CD.

Comments, concerns, shots? Scholar is in a good place rn but I thought I'd throw this idea out while it was fresh '-'

I think adding an additional effect of a poke in the eye would be an improvement over the current Dissipation ;)

My only issue is with Lustrate's 1s recast and how it'd potentially cause issues with this. That's an unparalleled amount of single target healing for those 10 seconds. Mind you I'm guessing that was the idea as dealing back the healing buff in that manner makes that aspect of it rather weak for such a long CD. I suspect that for a more mainstream player, this change might actually make Dissipation less effective than it already is?

Personally, I wish SE would use it as an ability to reward and encourage switching between Eos and Selene where possible whilst coupling that with a heavier emphasis on buffs for Selene vs raw heals for Eos.

To be honest I'd rather them consolidate both of the fairies into one pet with the current ability lockouts to encourage dps vs HPS decision making, maybe a fairy mastery at level 80? Eos and Selene could turn into Lily or something haha. Key note on the healing buff portion though, it specifies all healing done; not just magic meaning OGCDs are affected. I forgot to mention that bit :o

I'm in agreement with Sebazy about the unparalleled healing aspect of the thought. The skill also coincides really well with Quickened Aetherflow and essentially gives SCH another MP button due to the trait essentially reducing the recast to 0s within the 10s duration. Something like that I would consider if it had a higher CD like 4-5 minutes.

I like the idea of giving the party wide Convalescence that isn't limited to magic spells. It would be neat that the Fairy channel that aspect (IE, anchors in place and channels an aura from their location) so you'd still get the ability to charge gauge with the newly founded stacks that are now boosted due to the effect.

All SCH needs from Dissapation now is a boost to Aetherflow actions and/or the ability to build Fairy Gauge while its active, the free Aetherflow aspect you propose will overpower the current mechanics in place and effectively allow you to spam.Aetherflow at least 2-3 times depending on it's cooldown when.activated.

I'd still like for Dissipation to just be an instant Faerie swap that resets Faerie CDs. It could be on a much shorter CD if that's all it did, and without a penalty it would actually be usable and instantly make both Faeries relevant regardless of their individual powers.

Technically that would be a nerf to those who use Dissipation for DPS purposes, but given that SCH is currently pretty strong and that this should really be a rework rather than a flat out buff, I think it's one we can take. Plus it temporarily solves the balance issues between the Faeries until we get a better 5.0 change. It promotes some level of planning in our playstyle, which is a lot more interesting than "oh I want 3 more stacks so I'm going to kill my Faeire". I do like OPs suggestion too, but imo it's not something the job needs, and would potentially tilt the balance more to our favour unnecessarily.

I think this would be waaay too OP.

Let's look at what SCH would be able to do step by step:
- Spammable 600 potency OGCD single target healing
- Free 500 potency OGCD aoe healing
- 450 potency OGCD damage + MP Drain
- Free mitigation bubble
- So many Aetherflow actions would basically allow you a free reset from 60s
- Also casts a mini-Largesse in the whole party (massive range) that affects the OTHER healer and yourself
- No need to waste a GCD resummoning the Fairy and no MP cost
- Has the same cooldown as Benediction

This skill would basically ascend SCH into godhood. Even at 5m CD I still think it'd be too strong.

Yeah maybe the duration could be reduced, or it could only allow for unique abilities used within the time frame meaning no double-ups. If I'm not mistaken abilities have to consume an aetherflow for the CD reduction component of the trait, so maybe that could be a factor that dials the ability back. The current dissipation is already a huge loss in HPS so I wanted more of a reason to use it more frequently. Right now it only has a few niche uses IMO, one of which is just as a dump at the tail end of a fight. It's still strong in those niches though.

SCH doesn't need a buff and Dissapation is fine after the recent Summon buff.

I haven't been shy in expressing my overall dissatisfaction with Dissipation since it was introduced, but I have to admit that recent changes have indeed made it far more useful and less punishing.

My big remaining gripe is that Dissipation continues to clash with the faerie gauge mechanic, and it would feel much better if you could store gauge from the additional Aetherflow spenders while the faerie was away.
