Experience rewards for Dungeon entries in the challenge log are the same up to level 60. Feeling Lucky (3 dungeons via the duty roulette) gives 15% of your current job's current level. Dungeon Master (5 dungeons) gives 10% of your job's level.
My 51 paladin (1,058,400 experience from 51>52) gets 158,760 experience from Feeling Lucky, and 105,840 experience from Dungeon Master.
My 34 lancer, if I were ever inclined to level it given the days of cross-class are over (217,900) gets 32,685 and 21,790.
Except at level 60 the equation breaks.
My level 60 white mage (4,470,000 experience tnl) gets 583,200 experience from Feeling Lucky, and 388,800 experience from Dungeon Master. That seems off.
My level 65 red mage (6,995,000) gets 583,200 experience, and 388,800 experience. Wait a minute.
I asked my friend, and their level 63 monk (5,809,000) gets 583,200 experience, and 388,800 experience.
Any of that seem off to you?

It's possible they didn't update the formula to go all the way to 70, or they decided to cap it off at what it is. While an increase would be nice...it really isn't needed as getting those levels really isn't difficult in the least bit.

This was the same at the begin of HW the formula capped at 50 and just at a later point i don't remember when it was updated.

It depends on the amount of time you can spend a day playing, and I would say that using first boss dungeon grinds is counter to the design intent. Not that I don't understand the solution, but while the levelling process for your first "main" job is fairly straightforward (use MSQ, run occasional dungeons) I feel that alts are getting to be a slog, and it's only going to get worse from here if there is a genuine number issue. I wanted to make a larger point about how this reward seems disproportionate to the amount of experience that is needed, but I hit the character limit and had to trim down.
As an honest question: Does 10%-15% of a level of one job seem like a fair weekly reward? This is more the point I wanted to make other than just pointing out a discrepancy. If it was intentional, then why? Why cut down more experience sources? -

I only have two DoM jobs at 70, but I noticed the heavy lack of exp options while getting my RDM to 70, and I had purposely saved most of the Stormblood sidequests from 66 onward for it, as I hit 70 on my BLM around that time (I believe I still had the 3.1 and beyond MSQ to level off of after Stormblood hit on my BLM), and it was less than fun, option wise. I enjoy the various logs (hunting, challenge, etc), so I'd love to have them be a bit more viable. I'd also love to see FATEs be more viable in leveling too. The SB monsters in general are a lot more time consuming to solo, so FATEs without the EXP bonus applied are largely a waste of time without at least one other person helping. Not looking as forward to whatever class I decide to take to 70 next for these reasons. I'd consider a healer, but I lag a little, and I wouldn't want to have late game dungeon-goers suffer because I can't dodge everything, so I guess I'm stuck with beast tribe quests and such later.Quote:

I do absolutely adore a lot of aspects about this game, the main scenario quests, dungeon and fight design, and the musical scores being some of them. The atmosphere, too. But dungeons are quickly ruined when they are spammed, and Zodiark knows that there's plenty of that at cap with expert and the shrinking dungeon additions with each patch. Just because I know it could be worse (my first MMO was FFXI, like a lot of people here, I'm sure), doesn't mean I don't feel like it could be better. And individual sources of experience being lackluster I feel is part of that. 10 to 15% of one level is not, I feel, in the spirit of a 1/week bonus, it's basically negligible in the scheme of things unless your play time is extremely limited. And then we come to other problems, like the cap on any source of experience outside the dungeons being lackluster, and even Levelling roulette being kind of broken and suboptimal compared to other options, which seems against the spirit of the thing.

Cap could be raised, doesn't really matter too much since there are other ways to get a lot of EXP, some they added recently. Alliance Raid daily is quite a lot of exp for the work (you can still do them even if people are dying constantly due to overgearing) and the beast tribe dailies barely take any time and give a ton of EXP.
I think if you view them as something you are grinding for instead of viewing it as something you are getting in addition to stuff you are going to be doing anyway it does seem kind of low. (i.e. I did 5 dungeons and all i got was 600k vs. I was going to do the 5 dungeons anyways and I got an additional 600k.) -

Daily SB Hunt Bills I have no problem with. Relying on someone running the HW Hunt bills I do.
I have the same sentiment with the Kojin versus the Vath and Gundu. I feel balancing against old content to use for current levelling is a dangerous proposition.
The daily Alliance takes longer than a dungeon to run, with what sounds like comparable experience results.
I do understand the sentiment of things being more efficient so players can catch up, but that doesn't mean that those efficient means are without fault (palace is extremely boring, yet it's one of the most efficient means of levelling). And then there's the question of why more efficiency is a bad thing? Why is it bad that players have more value for their time? Because they'll cap out quicker? Well they still have plenty of other things to do then, like level a new job or do any of the wealth of content that is available. -

That should honestly be up to the player to make sure things aren't wasted, not given a security blanket so you can ignore other classes and give them EXP when you feel like it.Quote:

This is the level that you start off at in the current expansion and you are meant to work for the exp to get to the current cap. As for getting to 60 with your alts, you should have no issues here. It's really difficult for me to sympathize with exp gripes when players were already at level cap not even a week into the new expansion. -

This was also the case in HW, where those logs stopped scaling at level 50. Because of this, I generally try to complete those logs on jobs that are closer to lvl 60, to get the most out of them.Quote:
