What would you like to see/have for Relics in SB?

For me I would probably like a Relic Armor to be added, not just relic weapons.

If the Relic Armors do happen, would also like for them to have their unique abilities for certain jobs (I.E. Ninja relic gear increase evasion by a certain %; bonus if whole set is equipped) Prolly won't happen, but still would love to see it imo.

Long as we get Masamune for Samurai I'll be happy.

I would love to see class/race bonus or something that can really set them apart from all other weapons. I love the idea of them having a type of form that is alive, perhaps at some point being to be used as support weapons that can be used also as a form of back up. Like living familiars that may also cast / attack.

We most likely will, since it is usually a Samurai Weapon in the FF series. My guess it might be as long as Sephiroth's.

That'd be a bit much imo lol but more than anything it is a staple katana in the series and no katana I'd rather glamour over it :D

I just hope Square Enix doesn't make it ugly...

As long as it's not just a re-run of the same things we've done already with different names...

I'd like to see something completely different, not the same grind through old content just to populate it.

Well the anima 210 step required materials that were only obtainable in diadem at the time during its release, pretty much a given one of the steps is going to have Eureka involved in some way. Just hope its not as awful as diadem was for people that don't like crafting or gathering.

I don't remember anything being only obtained through Diadem, and I did my DRG relic as soon as it was available to do.

A BLM staff that is actually decent. Some of the leveling gear staves outrank the artifact ones. Preferably one with a crystal at the top, or an orb. Not gaudy, plastic looking, tacky crap and nothing as basic as the Kaladanda Lux. I main a BLM and it's always a struggle to find a nicely designed staff, when IMO they should be amongst the easier weapons to design for in the game due to the simplicity of their shape and the wealth of inspiration to draw on for them.

I am hoping whatever the RDM weapon is, it is very good. That'll be my alternative if the BLM one isn't good. SMN weapon tends to be more glow than weapon so not getting my hopes up for it. An asian papyrus style book would be cool, though. The ones I really loved in the past expansion were the AST, DRK, PLD and WAR weapons. The SMN one was not bad providing you don't mind the fact that the glow compensates for its tiny size.

I don't care what they add, just so long as I can /finally/ dye the glow color for the final step. It's what's stopped me from investing time in some relics at this point because I find the glow to be hideous.

210 had tokens obtained from beast tribe, tomestones, treasure hunts, and I believe Allied Seals.

The Unidentifiable ones, yeah. I was just confused about the Diadem only...since I don't recall anything for the HW relics being obtainable through Diadem at all. It was all FATEs/crafting/market board/tomestones/hunts/handing in random-annoying-to-get stuff(some of it at least was annoying/a pain to get if RNG hated you)/dungeon farming.

You didn't have to do diadem because you could purchase the completed items from marketboard but a lot of the materials required to make them came from diadem.

Edit- The items were Adamantite Francesca, Titanium Alloy Mirror, Dispelling Arrow, and Kingcake. One of the things you needed to make the adamantite francesca was pterodactyl straps which were made from pterodactyls that could only be fished up in diadem.

My only hope is a final step that isn't super plain looking with some particle effect. Seriously disappointing how the anima changed and for several weapons just turned boring looking, like NIN and WAR's Lux.

1. No crafting/gathering step unless specialists are NOT required. (And I say that as a person with every crafter and gatherer leveled with friends to cover all possible specializations).

2. If there is a FATE step, no rng. Make it a set amount you have to run in any zone of your choice. (Yes I know lots of people would crowd the lower level zones, that is NOT a negative or an argument against it).

3. I’d like to exclude Gerolt and Rowena for once, I’d want it to be an ancient treasure that we awaken and grows more powerful rather than having someone forge a new weapon.

4. As far as their appearance goes, I don’t know what to expect I just want the ability to dye the glow on it.

5. Stick with the stat allocation similar to the 340 step, I loved being able to do that. However, there should be 0 cost to respeccing the stats. We should be able to change the stats whenever we want at no cost.

NIN's Relic stopped at "Spurs of the Thorn Prince"

I want the relic be the Strongest weapon in the game. I don't care about the "Raider should have the best weapon because they are cool and they deserve it!!". I want to have the maximum level possible in the current tier from beginning (with the grinding of course, not immediately), instead of wait 1 patch later. That means if netxt tier maximum weapon level is 375 (probably), have a relic at 375 from the very launch of 3.2. I'm very tired of the temporal raiders privileges (and I am raider) with equipment. So yes, I'm throwing a stone to my own roof, but I love the relics, and I prefer have it instead the current raid weapon.

Also, let us customize stats from the very beginning instead of wait till later steps.

I don't care much about the grinding, that's the purpose to balance with raid weapons. But both SHOULD have the same level.

It doesn't really make sense to allow ARR or HW zones to augment a SB relic. Keep it specific to SB zones, if there is a FATE step.

I'd like to see a full set of armor and weapon. Maybe not accessories, but left side for sure. Give it set bonuses, such that when combined, is on par with top tier raid gear. Allow stat customization from the beginning, making it BiS because of it, but also taking longer to acquire than raid gear.

i want.... sorry for dreaming but.. i want the relic to be merge with Job gouge... like for example a WHM when the get lilis the flowers will start to growth and go away, SAM weapon would turn red as the sword gouge turn red, PLD shield turn yellow if shield oath, sword shine blue if sword oath. lol

2-handed Messer style sword for DRK. As much as I like BFS I would like to see more DRK weapons of a more realistic size.

I want the return of job ability modifiers. Shorter recast timers for abilities or greater potency or something.

I know it won’t ever happen, but you did ask what I would like to see.

I'd like to see some of the classic weapons from older final fantasy games given life in the game. Sooo many.

Since 4.15 preview doesn't show relic, I think they're either keeping it as a surprise, or it may be in 4.2x. Still, would love to see something new in this expansion's relic.

Hope it doesn't have such excessive glow again. Or at least an option to toggle it off. I usually like the design, but the huge, bright glow ruins it for me.

I just found and interview between PSU and Yoshida and one of the quuestions mentioned Relic Armor, and if I'm reading it right, sounds like it may actually be happening in 4.2 (prolly 4.25, if Eureka's not gonna be released in 4.2).
