Please make Adloquium auto-crit outside of combat

It’s a pain when everyone’s standing around at the start of the boss waiting for a crit adlo. I always find myself thinking why can’t this just be 100% crit out of combat?

It wouldn’t break any balance, would just be a QoL change like how stoneskin 2 was implemented so WHMs didn’t have to spam stoneskin at the start of a fight.

There's so little benefit from fishing for a crit adlo for the pull currently that it's barely worth the time taken to do so. It'll take the sting out of that opening Almagest on O4S but outside of that, I can't think of anything else where it'll actually have an impact?

Whilst I do appreciate where you're coming from, I really can't see that happening as it's just got too much potential to cause issues down the line.

Or make it so it *can't* crit out of combat. Problem solved.

You want to have a guaranteed 40-50k HP shield on your party for every pull? Seriously?

They probably won't do that solely based on the fact that they don't want scholars to be shielding the tank for 20k+ between pulls in 4 mans. Would trivialize AOE mechanics for 30~ seconds into raid fights as well.

Yeah having a guaranteed critical Galvanize barrier could be fairly OP even if it was done before a battle. And just think you could even waste CDs like Largesse to make it even stronger, follow up with Deployment Tactics and expect that to do all the work for 30ish secs.

Is there any fight with an aoe burst within the first 30sec?

Ultimate Coil, O4S, others that I'm too tired to remember, etc.

That would make sch very broken and unbalanced. And that would cause players that play healing classes to demand the same thing on their abilities that grant a shield. If you want a bigger shield put lots of crit materia in your gear. Simple as that.

This would be more consistent, since a number of existing procs can't, well, proc outside of combat.

guaranteed prepull crits would, as others mentioned, be pretty broken for dungeons at the very least.

O1S has a twin tankbuster that can be shielded with Deployment (so tanks can DPS stance pretty safely).

Since we are at this they might as well let AST pick which card to draw outside of combat

Forgot about the O1S share, that's probably the best example alongside Dungeons IMHO, stuff like the opening fireball in Ult coil can be almost entirely negated by a Earthly Star dropped at 6 seconds on the pull timer or a precast Asylum for example. Sitting there fishing for Adlo crits whilst practicing just strikes me as madness :(

You could generate lilies out of combat by healing full people. Too bad nobody cares about that. :D

What I'd like to see is Scholar being given a trait similar to what Astro has: wherein casting Benefic has a % chance of proccing a guaranteed critical heal from Benefic II. If Scholars got that for Physick and Adlo it would go a long way for those who enjoy playing Scholar. I'd also like to see a potency boost to the healing done with Succor, but that's a whole 'nother thing.

If you can get guaranteed Aldo crits, expect Aldo's crit effect to be nerfed soon after. It'd be too much.

That's honestly just about the last change I would want to SCH. Like Tridus said, it would be shortly followed by a Critlo nerf, and honestly how often would you even proc it if it was from Physick? Physick is usually SCH's last resort heal, not something that's used standard like Cure/Benefic.

If Adlo could be guaranteed a crit, we'd most definitely lose the multiplier effect on it, and that is something I do not want. It's one thing unique to the job that we don't need to lose. Even if we could only use it once in a fight, it would still be too broken in its current state.

Succor does not need any more boosts, the shield buff was more than enough. And actually now we have the most potent one when compared to Helios/Medica if we ET it.

And just on the note of traits, I think it's fair to say we eventually ended up with an amazing trait this expansion. Quickened Aetherflow made a huge difference. So the trait love needs to go to WHM first and then AST imo.

Aaaand on topic, due to my first reason I would not want Adlo to crit like that. I've not actually come across groups that wait for a crit Adlo pre-pull and tbh there's nothing in this game that needs it. By those standards, we should let AST get an auto Balance spread and WHM... ...

Critlo is fun as it is. We don't rely on them to be successful Scholars so I wouldn't mess with a good thing. I do wish that Fairy Actions could trigger a Physick upgrade similar to how Summoners get to use Ruin 4 based on pet actions. If Physick upgraded to an Ability periodically with the same potency, or possibly equal potency to Cure/Benefic, it could be weaved into our rotation which would be very satisfying and revive a core skill that seems to die end game.
