Scholar fairy glamours?

This might just be me, but I was wondering what people think of the idea to glamour our Scholar fairies. Ever since Summoner got Egi glamours, I feel it would be fair for Scholar to get something too.

Maybe the option to have a male fairy or other creatures that could fit the role. (a moogle would be nice, but I'm not sure if there is lore behind the class that might effect things)

I know people will probably say they want SE to focus on more important things, but it's just an idea :)

I'd love some fairy glam but considering how little glam we've gotten for the egis, I'm skeptical of it ever becoming a thing. :C

It'd be cute if they could have different colors or wing types, though. I'd love an Eos with moth wings and little fluffy antennae~

I still think it'd be funny to have an Airy/Anne glamour for the faeries.

Maybe go the extra mile and have Airy's wings change based on our aetherflow stacks?

Fairy glamours is an essential issue that needs to be addressed ASAP! :mad:

I'd like to be able to choose the size more than anything else, but glamour would be nice too.

I think I would like to be able to change the color a bit as well as the size not so sure about making it male or anything but it would be nice to see something different maybe more options but if they did that for schlrs wouldn't they have to do that for smns as well? I mean i know they have the carbuncle glams but what about if you don't want it to be a carbuncle?

I mostly just want to be able to glamour Anima to everything.

I just really really want an Amethyst carbuncle, pretty please SE?

Anyone else wonder what happend to Summoner glamours? I thought we would get something every patch, but no new glamour in 4.0 and 4.1. Has SE dropped this?

I'm guessing they're just hoping the playerbase forgets about it/stops asking- like a handful of other features. Let's not forget that when asked about it recently, they laughed it off with "but we gave you Bahamut." I suppose they figure that bought them a free-pass for another expansion's patch cycle.

Honestly seeing how sch ARE a arcanist base class, I don't see why we couldn't get the carbuncle glamor. I know some will argue its bc fairies don't attack anything but its not like carbuncles are capable of doing the skills Ifrit and Garuda do. Just have them do there little butt wiggle move for auto attacks for our fairies auto heals etc.

But honestly, I would love to use the Anima model (maybe only if you completed the anima weapon, so there's incentive?), or just a male faerie. I don't think there's any lore reason why we can't have a male faerie. Eos is the Greek goddess of the dawn while Selene is Greek goddess of the moon, so maybe Helios (Greek god of the sun)?

The whole system for this was originally created as an apology to summoners from the dev team for bailing on their original plan to give summoners more egis because the devs didn't want to balance them and it took years to get it where its at right now. They still haven't followed through on giving summoners ramuh egi, shiva egi, and sephirot egi glamours. So maybe after they do all that and I wouldn't hold my breath on anything specific?

I agree with this! Please give us fairy glamor! Even if it just makes them carbuncles.

I'd settle for simple colour palette changes. I'm so bloody bored of looking at the same fairies all the time.

I would be happy with being able to glamour minions over our fairies.

I'd be very happy if I could glamour the Carbuncles over the faeries. Carbuncle has been a support summon in the past, after all. Also, like the suggestion of the Anima faerie. Always liked the look of that minion.

Summoner gets the colours Carbuncles as glamours, I feel SCH should get Moonstone and Obsidian Carbuncles.

In addition, I think moogles would make good fairy glamours too.

What if we keep the Fairys - but we can dress them up? \^^/

Some different outfits, nice dresses, seasonal stuff like a christmas coat, past Final Fantasy outfits, hats and accessories... and of course the obligatory bathing suit from the mog station...

I've made threads about these ideas before. I'm super for dressing Lily up and giving her different color schemes. While the Nymian Faerie isn't ambient aether but an aetheric familiar she still can plausibly change her appearance seeing what happened in the SB sch quest-line with Lilac

Omg I have been wanting the Feathered Fairy as glamour for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long!!!!!!!

Wanted to say that I think they should avoid giving Scholar carby but I can understand why people want it. Only because when I want to know where half my heals are coming from I want to know asap, not try to check the name of the pet and having both summoner and scholar share that would be rough. :p

I do think having different outfits and looks to the fairy could be a neat addition to Scholar though. Also some emotes that you can interact with your fairy would be pretty cute (like to beckon them onto your shoulder).

Hence why SMN gets Topaz, Ruby and Emerald, while SCH should get Moonstone (Eos) and Obsidian(Selene).

You're right that it would help a bit, not fully but certainly shave off a few seconds into more like half a second check. I would still say Scholar should stick exclusively to fairies though, and while yeah Arcanist had carbuncle it fits better, imo, that Summoner has all carby options as being a summoner (Carby feeling primal and damage related).

I would not riot if Scholar received those two other colors, just that I think Scholar's theme is pretty locked down into faeries and it would be better to see fairy related customization (even their UI is a fairy). While Summoner's pet themes fit really well with what the other colors we don't have access to can do (like moonstone carbuncle has a group buff and attacks, fits the summoner pet theme).

So I guess I have many feelings on it lol. A. standard carbuncle I'd give a strong please no, which obviously you're not asking for so we're both good there. and B. the other colors, all of them, imo fit better into the theme of summoner but I'm not that invested into the idea that if SE decided "meh, here you go Scholars" that I'd say anything negative about it or bother to ask for a change back. C. I think it would be pretty great that Scholars can adjust the visuals of the faeries, clothes, visual (wings, etc), what have you (emotes could be nice I think).

You know that's Seraph(fully combined Lily) from the Scholar LB, right.

As some have mentioned, the Anima minion is great choice for a fairy, if we can get that in different colours (maybe Emerald, Topaz and Ruby like SMN) I could live with that in the short term, but looking ahead I hope there will be nice unique appearances to make them more glamorous to use.

I really wish Arcanist was just built with a system whereby you equip an item in the offhand slot, and that determines what pet you summon. So you start off with the class and you have a Carbuncle Ruby (ideally you can dye it to customise the colour of Carbuncle) and you need that equipped to use Summon and Summon II (this kind of limitation is already in place with Paladin, some skills require a shield equipped). Upon unlocking Summoner and Scholar, yet get new items to equip in to access various Egi and Fey, while also allowing both jobs to still use Carbuncle; I'd love Scholar to have Carbuncle as well, with Healing Ruby/etc. So a fresh Lv30 Scholar would already have the Carbuncle Ruby, and the quest would give them access to the Selene and Eos gem to equip in order for their summoned pet to be either Eos or Selene.

I'd much prefer a system like that to what we've already seen with Egi-Glamour, which in my opinion is a terrible system. It gets the job done (even if it has since been abandoned), but it's such an unintuitive way to work it, and adds no real additional content... With an offhand item determining your pet, not only do you have a scenario where you can have one pet for both summon types (so Caster Ifrit-Egi, for example, with skills like Searing Wind), but where do you get said items to equip? You add new value to doing Primals for Summoner I imagine, and who knows where Scholar options could drop from, but they'd have to come from somewhere, and that's more reason to do whatever content it is. I think more content like that is much better than typing in a text command to change pet appearance...

Also, as a side note, I find it kind of funny how Yoshida basically said "Egi-Glamour isn't a priority because it's just for one job", but then we get patch after patch of Performance options being added solely to Bard... I get that it's much simpler to produce than new summoned pets, but honestly that excuse never sat right with me anyway, not in a game where you can play all jobs on a single character... Work the system how I've suggested and I can see it being some new minor content for everyone, people might not main the jobs but that doesn't stop them collecting the items to edit the pets appearance. Ultimately I'd see it the same as collecting primal mounts in terms of content...
