The only thing worse then somebody buying a large house strictly to resell it...

...is somebody buying a large house using their gil farming bots and using it as their base of operations.

There's currently two large houses on Cactaur in this predicament, and it frustrates me to no end, partly because of how unsightly the completely barren houses look (They only have a mailbox for easy gil/item transfers) in their respective neighborhoods, and partly because they could easily have done the same with a small house, but opted for a large strictly to flaunt their wealth/annoy people (Neither of them are using their gardens).

I'm curious as to whether or not anyone's seen this happening on other servers.

I suppose that not having this is one benefit of Balmung's flooded housing market...

That and the overflowing population putting a choke hold on RMT in the first place.

We have a botter on our server that buys up houses (multiple mansions at that) and just leaves an aetheryte on the lawn of most of them. Only one of their houses have unused gardens that I have seen and a couple have chocobo stables, but no decor outside any of them that was non-functional. They've been reported botting nodes, they've been reported botting goats (very obviously, doing vertical flying exact circles until they catch aggro, killing then repeating) and either nothing was done or someone slapped them on the wrist and ran off giggling while leaving them with their treasure pile.

Let me start with i hate bots... But i gotta ask what do goats drop?? did i miss a item added to said goats.....I remeber the botters in ESO pig farming lol

Have they been reported for using bots?

They should have fixed the botting problem before releasing more houses...

No idea. All the goat drops tend to be cheap. It was so blatantly obvious a human wasn't in control though.

They were probably primarily going for Aldgoat Horns, used for Horn Glue, which was used in a fair amount of high level (2.X) crafts. They're easy to get, but it's a pain in the ass to farm mob drops, so they tend to go for a bit more than stuff you can gather easily on Miner or Botanist. The botters probably went after the Aldgoats because they're the lowest level mobs with an item that crafters consistently needed, although I think the Coerthas sheep were a big bot target for awhile as well.

Ahhh for some reason i had pictures of botters killing like farmer bobs goats lol.

This is probly my 2nd peice of advice i give new players who post in the groups im on on fb..fisrt being google what your buying most merchant sell them.

.2nd open all beast tribes even if you don't do them, once you open them they sell materials like the Kobold they sell Aldgoat Horns for 238 gil each.. Stop payng insane mb prices lol

It was the goats in draconian forelands though and it was long after their drops had been of any value.

People getting banned for botting feels like a myth at this point, as I've reported both of the players multiple times with no results.

I'd have to assume the GMs never actually look at these players to notice how stiff and repetitive their movement patterns are, and instead just send them a tell, which isn't going work when they're almost always being monitored by somebody who can simply reply to them to get them off their backs. People apparently go to extreme lengths in this regard, as there are even phone apps that will go off and alert them if anyone interacts with the bot in some way such as trading with them or sending them a tell.

I learned this the hard way when I ended up getting reported by one of said bots after I held it up for several minutes by opening a trade with it (Nevermind that a normal player would've just quickly closed the trade and went along with their business...).

Do you have proof said larges are bought by botters? You just come off as salty and jelous you didnt get a large house to me from reading OP.

Well it can be labled as harassment. If someone was trading me for no reason (while teleporting for example) i would report them at a heartbeat if they repeated it.

To be quite honest, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the house flipping market was tied to the gil sellers.

It's a stupid easy way for the gil sellers to get a ton of gil, especially if they have one legit account that's completely separate from the gil laundering that's actually getting the properties.

The owners of both houses are active (As in, actively doing things, not just being AFK) for literally days straight at times, they never respond to any form of communication, and they move in an extremely erratic manner when gathering/hunting, zig-zagging around as if traveling between specific coordinates on the map (Which is exactly how bots function). I stalked these players long enough to know from even before I learned they had houses that they're bots, and ones that have been around for years, as it's unlikely someone bought those larges then had them relinquished.

I don't just jump to conclusions based on flimsy evidence, and hate being accused of being salty about something petty like that (I don't even want a large house, because I know I'd never actually make use of all the space it offers) when I'm more concerned about a bigger issue at hand (Cheaters making the housing shortage even worse then it already is). Besides, even if I did have proof, it's not like I could post it here because of whole "no name shaming" thing.
