Might as well put every Mogmail of every city-state at their marketplace. There's no need for special treatment.
The only issue would be then what would be the point of that whole half of the city? All the post boxes are in weird/out of the way places.
Let's face it. Outside of picking up job quests at the guilds, half the cities are useless anyway
No special treatment for you. They are not in the market areas of the other city states why should Kugane be different?
Note in your 2 squares there is each an etherite teleport very close to each location. I suggest you use it :X.
I dunno why everyone is jumping on you, OP. The Mogmails are in a stupid location. It doesn't make any sense to have them so far out from the central hub.
Perhaps that is part of their reason (we'll never really know), but I never see a crowd just hanging out at a mailbox doing their thing. It's generally 1 or 2 people, and then I port away to go back to where I need to be. I imagine most do the same as well.
I'd like to see them add more mogmails - maybe a couple in the various city sections, scatter them around the outposts, etc. Grabbing mail should not be a destination. If they want to make a portion of the city desirable, they would need to add summoning bells and a market board and tomes NPCs. I don't think much else is going to lure people away from the current hot spots.
Mogmails are at most aetherytes too... so I don't see why this is as big a problem as it needs to be (which is a non-issue in the first place).
People on this forum argued that hurricane victims had to "take their luck of the draw the same as the rest of us" when someone proposed pausing housing demos. .. I'm not surprised anymore at what they'll argue against.
I'll +1 to the make mail more convenient sentiment..
Though I will say I do like to take a soak in the baths before grabbing my mail on the way out =]
Probably because there are dozens of more serious problems the devs could be working on instead of moving a mailbox to someplace more convenient. For all we know it'd break something more important and completely seemingly unrelated in the game. I know there were a couple of QoL changes that seemed to completely bork how other pars of the game worked XD
it is valid, you just don't understand it. because it's not "spread people out on a map", it's spread people out all across the world.
you don't need to spread people out around a personal or FC mailbox because there aren't lots of people there by default. and those being more convenient than any city means people are going to want to spend more time near their houses, which makes all of the cities less crowded.
the current endgame zone and the most recent expansion city is already going to be crowded, if you position things to be even more convenient there than everywhere else people are going to idle there even more than they already do. people who currently don't even want to be there would be more compelled to go there.
For the sake of convenience, let's move all the job quest NPCs to the same location, too. And consolidate all the shops into a single supermega shop.
In fact, why do we even need to physically go talk to any quest NPC? We've got linkpearls, let us just sit on the couch and phone it in.
In my time playing MMOs, I've learned that one of the top things that players love is having to run out of their way to do something basic (in this case checking mail).
I kind of feel like they should also move the menders farther away as well. Could really help spread the players out and make the world feel more active having to "seek out" someone specialized enough to repair your gear.
Also, summoning bells. Why do we need to have so many scattered all over? It really makes the towns ugly as all you see are a giant cluster of people centralized in these little hubs. Inn rooms each have a summoning bell - that should be plenty. I think that would really help clear up the towns and the ugly mess of people you see just standing around targeting a bell.
