Fix leveling Roulette please.

There needs to be a minimum 10 level difference in the dungeons you get for leveling roulette. I've taken the 30min penalty three times in a row now because as a level 66 tank, I've gotten Bardam's Mettle all three times I've queued for leveling roulette. The xp bonus you get at the end is not worth the daily. It needs to be restricted to lower level dungeons, like if you're level 65, it should only unlock dungeons from level 55 down so it doesn't feel like you're burning your leveling daily for weak returns on the bonus.

The exp you get from the mobs in the dungeon combined with bonus EXP at the end DEFINITELY worth the daily.
Just because you dislike the dungeon doesn't mean the roulette is broken.

The daily XP bonus you get at the end is higher for low-level dungeons to compensate for the fact that you got less XP from monster kills in there. Overall you probably get slightly more XP from an on-level dungeon simply because the mobs give so much more XP.

Yeah, im sure the big exp bonus number at the end is impressive looking but these two are right. The dungeon kill exp plus the dungeon bonus exp for the higher level dungeon will end up being more. Plus you might get gear upgrades too. Most people who say that leveling is broken are complaining the opposite of you - they only want one of the 2 or 3 highest level dungeons theyre qualified for.

Im starting to think your grasping at a weak argument due to the fact your stuck on the same dungeon.

Cause I see the EXP promised gets delivered...admittedly these days I'm more for the Tomestones and occasional loot drop.
And yes it gets a bit annoying when your gated to the same dungeon again-and-again-and-again.

Roulette is a roulette, you have to be prepared to accept whatever might come up. Repeatedly leaving isn't fair on the other players in the dungeon who may have been waiting a lot longer than you to get in there, and their queue time is basically wasted now that tank has abandoned and a replacement may not happen.

Roulette is random, deal with it.
here i thought you where gonna complain for getting Ifrit, Titan or Garuda.

Top posts are right. You are getting more due to kill exp. You just don't notice it.

So I'm finishing my second tank to 70 (69 PLD), what's the hate towards this dungeon in general? Why take the 30 min penalty?

That's what I figured too, shouldn't I be getting more XP per kill in there compared to say Thousand Maws?

I would get like this back in 2.0, but quickly realized it was due to me playing way too much. Once you get agitated it's time to log out. Now I log in, do a roulette if I want and enjoy what I get. Bardam's Mettle included.

In general, leveling is so fast in this game I wouldn't think it made much of a difference no matter what you got for roulette. You finish the daily + challenge log you'll have a good boost in levels I'm sure.

There's that too, which makes it even more a casual experience to level up. Just still don't see why that specific dungeon is a bad one? Or also how the 10 level difference would make anything better as suggested in the OP. I guess I was looking for a method to the madness, but in the end it seems to be just blowing off steam. Which is perfectly fine. Now we can all go back to saving the world and oiling down men in the hot springs for a quest giver.

/raiseshand I'm past 66 and been dying since 1.0. I'll admit I didn't notice it, but I didn't notice it because like you said it evens out. I never look at the exact numbers and compare them. Now if I see a bunch of challenge logs and roulettes..first timers all roll out I like to look back and go "Look at all that XP right 'dere" But it isn't long lived, by then my cat is already annoyed I did a dungeon jumps up bites my elbow and we kung fu fight.

Still.. #nowIknowSomething. I can take that knowledge with me to my grave..well not my grave but I'll at least think about it while I'm at Bojangles!

Are you overlooking the "rested EXP" bonus that gets tacked on for logging off in sanctuary zone? Or food consumed?
Its an extra kick to be sure.
And yeah - its easy to level up - just wish it was a bit faster...some times it feels like a drag out knock out fight to get to 50,60, and then 70. That last stretch is a pain.

Sounds like a personal problem, the roulette is not broken, it's how you perceive the expectations to be. I would think the word roulette would give a hint, and regardless if it's the first run you still get a mayor bonus. Your just helping out others as well which is the whole purpose of it. If you just take the penalty it's your choice, If you want a specific dungeon range then select it don't waste other peoples time waiting when your going to bail just because you didn't get what you want. How would you feel if a tank bailed on you after waiting 30 min+ on queue?

This.

Bardam's Mettle gives around 2 Mio. XP for clearing plus a few 100k for roulette, while getting Sastasha in leveling roulette gives about 1,6 Mio. XP at level 66 + idk 10.000 XP for clearing the dungeon?!

Also.. in case of a new player Sastasha only gives you maaaaybe 5k extra XP, while Bardam's Mattle should be around or even more than 100k XP.

At level 65 (more precise: if you're on the exact level of the dungeon) you also get chain bonusses for killing many mobs in a row (idk, maybe 20-50% more XP from Mobs).
Works only in the highest dungeon available (and not being already 1 level higher than demanded).

The only time you should want a really low dungeon is when getting a q "in progress".

The bonus is actually great. Without the bonus, it is terrible though.

And if tanks only got dungeons at least 10 levels below them, how will healers and DPS queued in for the specific Stormblood dungeons to advance the quests ever get through?

Sorry you want to get by on easier content and aren't be able to, but implementing your idea will only make a bad problem for non-tanks worse

To be honest, I kinda get what OP is saying. I mean there were times when I was regularly getting Castrim Abania (probably because players were farming to 70), and this did get somewhat annoying after a while. Definitely it's Roulette and anything goes, but occasionally it's nice to get some variety especially when there is a multitude of duties to pick from (pending lvl restriction) rather than the same ones.

The only reason you are getting the same dungeon again and again is because there is always someone trying to queue into it, the roulette is designed to speed up the queues for those that need specific duties for levelling, not for you to get variety.

Same goes for the OP and bardems mettle, except I have no sympathy because it is a really weak excuse to leave and waste the 45mins that a DPS could have been queuing. You commited to the roulette OP, and you hurt the experience of others every time you leave.

I know quite well how the roulette works, I was merely adding my own thoughts/experience to the thread and not expecting any actual change to happen to it. The roulette is for random variety regardless, it just happens to work in tandem with other players that are picking specific duties that's all.

Of course I don't agree with anyone leaving a duty just because they don't like it (such as OP's case), but unfortunately it happens and most tanks or healers that do that won't particular care anyway as they have the luxury of quicker queues anyway, so they aren't really concerned with dps waiting 45mins.

The roulette is there first and foremost, not for variety, but to match players into duties that they otherwise would not select. For this risk of getting stuff they don't like, they are given a bonus reward, once a day.

The roulette is there to help shorten the queues of people who need to complete specific duties. People are mistaken to think it is there to give you an edge on leveling. No. All that bonus and all that variety is a by-product of putting you where you are needed.

When you get Tam-Tara 7 days in a row as a level 48, it gets kind of annoying so I agree a bit with the OP.

The op is actually saying that you should only get dungeons that are at least 10 levels lower than your level. So at 48, you'll only get Cutter's Cry and below, which includes Tam-Tara.

Yeah I was agreeing by saying that I keep getting tam tara so having that 10 level limit or better yet, having it so you cant get the same level range of dungeons multiple times would be nice.

The downside to the OP is that players at level 69 would have to wait for a 69 tank to get their roulette done or the dungeon complete. It sucks for the tank yes to have to do Tam Tara 7 times in a row or Bardam's Mettle when you're 66 but as a DPS or healer trying to farm X dungeon it would suck not being able to get a Q pop because there are few tanks your level going through.

Also if you don't want a level relevant dungeon reduce your ilvl to a point you can't queue for the level of dungeon you are at. I am positive Bardam's Mettle and a few others require a specific iLvl.

The more likely reason you're getting Tam-Tara 7 days in a row is because lower level players who are the level for doing Tam-Tara are using the duty finder. If you limit the duty finder to finding only dungeons within your level then you're making it harder for the lower level players to find players to clear duties within their level. The only thing I don't like with duty finder is how it rewards gear that's only for the dungeon level and not the player level, but that's for another topic I guess.
