Please open Gilgamesh server to new characters/transfers

Hello,

Could you please open the server to new Characters and Transfers on Gilgamesh. The server is becoming increasingly inactive due to the server being closed.

Even the biggest Free Company's on the server who always had 500 members have dwindled down to 400 members. Making it very hard for the smaller FC's to survive.

Keeping the server closed is making it hard for FC's to bring in active players, every FC leader knows that you need new blood or things just get filled with in-actives. Same goes for the server the longer we are keep closed. Please I ask that you do something about this.

I'll second this, I've been on Gilgamesh since I started playing a few years back and the activity on the server is just going down, not just for FC's in my opinion. Less populated low area zones, lots of raid logging, etc. Hopefully they'll look into opening it back up since so much of Gilga has moved servers.

Please open the server.. read that last link very well explain why if square enix lets gilgamesh locked up. They are just gonna destroy the game!!

I agree too, the server is starting to really dry up, the lock is long overdue to be removed.

Something needs to be done at this point. The games actual endgame structure hasn't changed a huge amount since 2.0. However, what's able to keep a community active and healthy even between content patches for the non-raiders and crafters is new players and community members. At this point both with the problem of raid logging and a complete lack of new players part of the entire idea of community that attracts people to MMORPGs is slowly being squeezed out of Gilgamesh. With no new players FCs are drying up, the market boards are becoming more and more flawed, and even endgame community areas are becoming emptier and emptier each time I visit them.

Our FC feels so lonely now, since no new players are around to offset those who only show up to raid.
How come new worlds have more activity going on then Gilgamesh.

I understand that limitation made sense when SB just launched, but for heaven's sake it has been 4 months now, HAVE YOU SEEN OUR QUARYMILL!?
I created a new character on some other servers, and checked my alt on balamug recently, it seems that our server is the only one having that issue? (am i wrong here??)

I agree, #FreeGilgamesh. Sadly it seems to me that it will only get worse over time that is until it's a ghost town and suddenly the server is merging with one of the low pop servers. The devs at least need to address this and take 1 a good look at the average player count. We need growth! Not stagnation!

Seriously I'm in what was a huge FC, now it feels so dead because we can't get any new players to cycle through.

I suspect the overall active population of Gilgamesh is still quite substantial - else it would not remain congested.

For individual FCs I can see how thing could get dire. They will lose a few members now and then - like all FCs do - but have no new players to recruit to fill up the empty spots with.
Eventually FCs will have to resort to either poaching members from other FCs, or merge with some other FC, or disband due to lack of people.

I agree. The only time we have anyone active is during raid time. Then they just log right back off. Most of my friends list never logs on, or if they do they are just afk for hours at a time. The mentor system is completely pointless here. There is zero incentive to get my friends to play, because if I do I would have to leave the server and abandon my house/FC in order to play with them and help them out. Square Enix needs to actually pay attention to their communities.

I have been checking to see if the lock has been listed after SB dropped so that I could come back. I server transfers to get the mount I wanted and now I am locked to Mateus which has great peeps but I rather be back home.

Cmon... please take my money so I can get back !

#FreeGreg, mentor chat is pretty much just a mentor LS at this point with no sprouts. There are already several open servers with higher pop than Gilgamesh at this point. Server will die without any new blood.

This is all making sense to me now. I took a few months break right after I finished Omega the day it released and came back to get a house but have been busy IRL to actually seriously play since then.

I've been noticing a lot of things that were odd but didn't really understand why - things I've never noticed since playing since early release ARR.

* I've been in AST since I've been back and have not been kicked at all. Since my name starts with an A I'm usually first to go. Previously, I would have to rejoin daily.
* I've been to multiple Stormblood hunts where there were only 2 people there so everyone left.
* There was about 5 people total in Rhalgr's Reach last night at 1am EST.
* There are certain markets in the AH that have worked well for me since ARR that no longer work, because there's no new players to buy them.
* Party finder seems to be much less active.

And this is just my casual, log in for maybe an hour a day, observations.

Has this been brought up in a forum that is more easily viewed by SE? Kinda sucks to finally get a house and the entire server just logs in to do savage once a week. I've played other games where they failed to attract new players and the entire server was end-game... It does terrible things to the economy and community, and also alienates any new players that happen to pop in.

I would like offer a link to a thread Prince Adam started. He gots the right idea that its time to shift Gilgameshes community focus, the server can't just rely on new players anymore to make the server lively.

Gilgameshes community is raid focused that alone would make any server feel like a ghost town and be entirely depedent on new players for activity outside of raids. Like it or not but Prince Adam has the right idea, Gilgameshes communities need to shift their focus.

I'm all for opening the server and getting new people as well. As long as people do realize that if they do, it also opens it back up to all of the RMT bots as well. And that's something I'm not looking forward to.
