New housing idea. (Not more of the same)

Let's face it. It's impossible to make everyone happy. Adding more houses won't "fix" everything. So, what should, or can be done? How about removing as much frustration as possible?
The real issue faced at the release of 4.1 was not a lack of housing, but people hitting a brick wall before they could even try to buy a house. Patch files wouldn't download, crashing, etc. It's impossible to completely prevent all of these, but maybe something can be done to alleviate the problem.
Instead of a mad-run for housing as soon as the server goes live, what if housing was postponed? What if housing was unlocked at a certain time? I'd suggest a 24-48 hour waiting period. That gives time for things to go wrong and get fixed, then everyone has a chance to get logged in, in position, and know that they have an equal chance of being present at the housing rush.
I know this isn't a perfect solution, but maybe that would be better than having plans ruined in mass by technical difficulties.

How about an Auction system for initial release day of new Districts or Wards. Initial prices are initially low to start, but people can bid on houses for up to 24-48 hours after initial release. The bid placed is deducted as if you bought it preventing people from placing bids they can't afford or bidding multiple high amounts all over and locking people out. Winning on a plot removes your bids from all other houses and prevents new bids from being made for the duration of the Auction. Losing bids get their money back by mog mail. This way it's not first come first serve, avoids server issues as everyone won't necessarily log in at server start and gives people who for one reason can't log on at server start a shot at getting a plot.

Doing so will give only more power to the people who are monopolising the ward. People will the bare minimum to buy a house will not even stand a fighting chance. Also gives them more time to secure more wards since they don't have to beat the login queues and race against people for the housing. I can already think of at least 5 ways I can exploit this and make money out of this, so no, even if bidding is permitted to one per account it is still easily exploitable.

This could possibly work. Housing is a luxury item, so only those with gil would stand a chance, but at the same time it would make it very hard to plan. I feel like most people wouldn't want to spend a lot of time waiting to see if they get the house or not too. People have to go to work and such, they can't sit there and bid all day long. And to place a bid and walk away would almost guarantee that you won't get it.

One house & one fc per server. Alts on same server can not buy housing. one per account thing isn't a good idea.

People have spent years playing multiple servers. They should each have an option to buy houses.

Fc should be separated or have a different type of house for ranking systems. They can spend company seals for houses or make new fc currency. Do journeys to upgrade plots or to buy bigger plots.
Give it an area that can do the shops since no one really uses those house skins and big markets with its own currency. Keep fc out of residential areas. Make three new areas for fc to be in.

Let housing have a friends access option. people are coming up on the land or in my house asking me to sell my home to them and I am in lavender beds. I wanted some friends to come by so i opened the access. It wasn't meant to be open for the public.
Not only are the people without housing unhappy but the people bugging the ones with housing are getting that way too. Please help.

As for the rush? Make a real estate center. People place a request one for a house, cottage, or mansion. They have 4 styles to choose from. Which is the goblet, lv beds, mist or Shiro . They can customize it there to a point. They can
Choose plots available. If it's not available, an estimated time it will be will post.
They can buy permits and customization and given a date when it will be ready.
Some plots may sell out. Oh well. Not everyone can live in plot 30 or 60 in a shiro. But there are others.
At least they know they will get what they want and when instead of not knowing when the next housing is coming out.

Move out fc to new areas first. Getting fc out of housing will free up a lot of plots. Let fc convert gil to the new fc currency to buy plots or transfer to fc zones temporarily. Have fc earn more new currency by opening shops and stores with items from voyages and things from the work shop.
Fc are supposed to be ready stations for battle and planning. They really shouldn't look like my rich neighbors' house should it?

I never said people couldn't make money on it at all, but with 1 per account per server it at least prevents slum lords from taking over dozens of houses, the issue at hand is everything being taken after only an hour or two. Even in the existing districts there was nothing left anywhere when i logged in at 9:30a

That's why a longer period would be necessary so people can go back and rebid. Add to that maybe have the auctions be per Ward not all at once.

I actually didn't mean to post on your thread. That's quite obvious since I created another separate one.

Could just make it so when a bid is placed on a plot the end of the auction is pushed back to 24 hours from the time the bid is placed. So, so long as people keep bidding, they have a full day to check back and see if they need to bid higher.

But hopefully whatever secret plan the devs have in mind for 4.2 will be even better.
