Me and a bunch of people wiped proudly this morning doing Rabanastre.
Most 24 content is like that on release day, wait and see how fast before people faceroll through it
Yeah I really love this. I tried pugging earlier and we couldn't get past the second boss. I thoroughly enjoy the mechanics and the fights themselves. Figuring out how stuff works is one my favorite parts of these content patches.
Maybe the raid is okay, and maybe all these players were underperforming. These raids on day 1 seem to be "harder", but as people gear up and learn the mechanics, it gets easier overtime. Your experience differs completely compared to mine, as we were trying to figure out mechanics this morning. The DPS check didn't seem to be that bad.
My friend and I are having a load of fun (no sarcasm.) Our first group disbanded on the second boss, but our second group made it to Rabanastre with 15 minutes left and managed to get a taste before it kicked us out. :D
It's a bit overtuned. Our full party except tank kept dying on 3rd boss to his ultimate attack (with everyone HP topped) because we had two WHMs. Other two parties survived every time because SCH/AST shields. Devs should take these things into consideration.
It will even out in a week or two, some raids are weak out of the bag, others need a little time. Mach was like this too.
I'm loving it. The fights are genuinely fun.
However, what I don't love is people thinking they can just stand around (on dps) and not do anything like any other raid. Even after we have been wiping for like 10 minutes on one boss.
Nice fights. Have to figure out what happens, always is the best part. And no one dare asking to watch video or read guide, is the best of it all.
My tries there:
1st queue in df: enter a 48min started duty, to see it ended after 5s by a vote abandon;
2nd, 3rd: withdrawals by people and requeue
4th: duty fresh started, some wipes here and there, and completed with about 10min of time left. Got even a piece of 330 loot.
24-man raids should be challenging. I have no problem with them being slightly overtuned to be honest, it's purely selfish but I don't mind the SE tacitly telling everyone to improve a little. Vast majority of the mechanics have been seen before, just have different indicators (look away, don't stack, don't stand in this area, etc.). Anyone who can think beyond one step can see what to do on the last boss when they get the demon face too.
I'm in that awkward position where I can farm O3S comfortably but haven't cleared O4S... I was hoping for Dun Scaith levels of challenge for the 24-man in an ideal world. It takes a lot of wipes to clear on day one which is good for me. I don't mind wiping as long as the group improves on each attempt.
The new 24 man is completly fine as it is. People need to open their eyes and listen to what people explain and even if nothing gets explained it can be done without many wipes, if people open their eyes and use their brain.
Honestly feels easier than Weeping City/Dun Scaith.
But the mechanics are worse at conveying what needs to be done at a glance.
But to actually execute them, its easier.
The only exception is the last boss confusion, which imo was a great add, and still makes it a worthy 24 man raid.
(Still want to see EX/Savage level of difficulty in 24 man and 4 man content.)
Mind you I don't think it's super challenging, but there is no reason for it to be really. There are 24 people. You want to make challenging 8 person content go for it, but with that many people it just takes a handful to fuck things up. That was the real issue with Ozma. ONE person could wipe the whole damn thing. That's shit right there.
Idk if its midcore. It felt very similar to previous 24 man content. But I def enjoyed it more. The difficulty is similar but its more mechanically difficult.
I df'd through it an we wiped and wiped but we beat it. And its so fun to feel the accomplishment to beat it when everyone goes is blind
Honestly, New 24 raid mechanic is really easy but i am not sure why people still stand ,eat aoes and die to the same machanic mechanic even after wipe so many time and have other people explain . This raid only hard for bad player , if you good at this game you can get pass it in few try each boss
Are you new to the game ?
It's just a normal day in a new 24-man raid you know.
Nothing to do with the difficulty itself.
It's new.
Rabanastre was really fun. Managed to clear it with some FC friends. We wiped once on the first boss, about half a dozen times on the second and then once more at the end. The references were lost on me but it was a fun raid ^^
I cleared it but no once a guide comes out it will be far easier I'm not a great blind runner ha
Finally cleared it, went in with a Party Finder group instead of a DF PUG.
Party Finder folks are in for the long haul and seem more willing to learn, to retry after a wipe and honestly discuss what went wrong, to wait if someone has to take a break (someone had to feed a hungry kid in my group) and honestly the quality of player in a PF group is just going to be a bit higher. We cleared it with 22 since two of our DPS had to leave. We still met all the necessary DPS checks even with only 13 DPS, because the 13 we had were good players.
I cleared it, but it's not a fun raid at all. I don't like the new trend of obscuring a mechanic's tells in order to add difficulty. The second boss has two one-shot attacks with no line aoe markers that require you to pick up relatively subtle indicators, and with all the chaos of the 24 man instance, they are very easy to miss. I especially hated the last boss's controller mixup. That mechanic was uniformly hated in may 2 and 3d action games, which is why it has fallen out of favor as a mechanic in them. After an hour of doing that raid, to be hit with that was more of an insult than anything.
Interestingly, this raid likes to insult you, too. If you wipe you get after-the battle flavor text, and all the last boss does is spam his annoying lines. I feel like SE listened to all the people who said they loved royal menagerie and thought we'd like a harder, more intricate 24 man. I personally don't, and I feel that like royal menagerie, people will leave if it shows up in alliance roulette.
all some people want is faceroll auto attack or 1, 2, 3 bosses..... its sad really. to any1 enjoys this tank n spank type content i ask simply why? are you really THAT lazy? or do you just have to watch your netflix while playing 14 while juggling your 4 kids ages 2-9
The 24 man raid was fun , did it with a FC party and 2 random groups. We cleared it with 20 min remaining.
But there was 1 complain I have is : Shitty people , the content is just out for 1 hour. If you start whining that people wipe on new content , delete the game and never come back with your toxic behavior.
Cleared it on first attempt in random df needed 2 attempts at 2nd and 3rd boss but 1 shot first and last
