4.1: a sad patch

Lots of people like me haven been doing several boring tasks, like struggling with the market board, learning how to craft, learning gathering rotations and for what? Just to get a house in Shirogane or at least in any other area.

After all our efforts that day finally arrive... or those 20 minutes should I say? After that all I can find in the game is half of the playerbase quite depressed and old fans feeling salty and going like "Who cares about Shinryu, Ivalice, maps or whatever?"

I read angry or sad posts and comments everywhere and specially on my server facebook page. Why? Because today we felt like SE left us behind.

The system still have several flaws after more than 3 years, but they won't change that, they don't even have plans for it.

That's all I wanted to say. The game will have a bitter taste for lots of us for many days, instead of being 100% a fun place.

Are houses that big of a deal? There's a million things to do in this game and housing doesn't really affect combat/raiding/gathering/crafting really.

The same I could ask to you. Combat/Raiding and the other stuff are that big of a deal? They don't affect housing at all.

Some people just like to fight and complete the end game as fast as they can.
But others just enjoy that while their favourite activity is not related to combat, like housing or crafting.

In my case I just care about DPS jobs, Housing and probably Triple Triad. Not everyone have the same preferences or goals or interests as you.

Housing is appealing cause it's a long lasting project you can invest time and gil into and change to your taste. Raids, you grind tomes and gear that means nothing after a couple of months. Yes it's fun, yes raiding can be exciting, but it's something you sooner or later can do - nothing stops you. Housing? You are barred by a flawed system. So yes, I can understand why one can be really crestfallen to the point of taking a break from the game over failing to get a feature that shouldn't be THAT hard and stressful to access in the first place.

Such a nonsensical system. Make housing instanced or allow the option for an instanced house. At the very least I think FCs should have the ability to have a plot no matter what. The current system is just bad.

Sad housing situation =/= sad patch, I'm enjoying the rest of the patch content

You came to the Housing forum, of course people here are going to have a vested interest in wanting and discussing housing in this game! Different people enjoy different aspects of gameplay.

the whole patch was short and bland. the housing debacle is just the cherry on top.

Well, YOU are, but not everyone. Everyone should enjoy it or at least think "meh, there will be better ones". But no member should feel sad and that they can't make their projects that have been planning for months like in some cases I read on facebook for example.

As you can see, everyone is salty cause the plots were gone in 20 minutes... why? because housing matters a lot and this confirmed it. And SE is doing nothing about it.

A million things to do?

- Crafting is mostly irrelevant until 4.2
- Have Neo on farm
- Done with Ivalice
- Leveled the predominant jobs I play


Now I do have things to keep be entertained well enough but let's not remotely pretend there's tons left to do. Regardless, housing was advertised as a major feature for 4.1 and the overwhelming majority have no access to it.

If you have Neo on farm then you can have fun with Ultimate when it comes out in a week or two :) Pretty sure that alone will last you until 4.2. And Rival wings hasnt even been brought up.
