[PS4] Text Bubble Size

So when 4.0 hit, the change to default PS4 resolution made the UI super tiny. Eventually, they added a quick-fix option where we could get either "Super Tiny" or "Absurdly Oversized". Personally I got used to the tiny option for most things, except the NPC speech text bubble. For a while I'd found a fix in being able to plug in a mouse, right click on it, and manually adjust it to the size I liked. But lo-and-behold, I log in to 4.1 and I can't do it. What the hell SE? Why'd you remove this option? Did it get tucked away somewhere in all the Custom UI Interface changes this patch? I can't find any option to adjust the text bubble anywhere. Anyone know what's up?

Nope. Doesn't seem like anyone else has noticed or figured out a new fix yet either. Any attempt to Google just gets me everyone complaining and figuring out the original fix back when Stormblood launched.

Everyone's too busy complaining about housing to care about how asinine SE has decided to make the very task of reading the in-game text.

Same problem here. Always had to log in and bump it all up to 120 and now I can't change it unless I want it up to 150 and HUGE.

Same. Please just make these 3 "unique" UI elements customizable independantly!! (Player Name Tile/NPC Dialog Box/Ambiant Bubble Text)

I, too, am hating that they got rid of being able to increase the size of 4.0's ridiculously small text bubbles.
I was hoping that they might have fixed this issue with 4.1 today but nope.. this is really annoying and I don't see why they got rid of being able to manually increase it.

P.S.
You didn't hafta plug in a mouse, you were able to use the virtual mouse in-game by holding L1 and pressing R3. Once up, you held R2 on the text bubble and used L2 to change it.
Just an FYI incase they add it back in.

Same problem here and it pisses me off that the fix (which was stupid in the first place) no longer works. Just let us resize all aspects of the HUD the way we want them to be!

To everyone who still has this question or looks this up:

Hold L1 + R3 to bring up virtual mouse, then "click" the text box with R2 and choose the size, all the way up to 200%.

Someone mentioned it didn't work in an earlier 2017 post, but it is proven functional now in 2019 and has been since at least 2018.

Like Rothare above said, using the virtual mouse resizes the window. HOWEVER, it must be a chat bubble in the open world, not a cutscene. Right clicking the bubble in a cutscene just advances the text. You have to be conversing to the NPC in the open world for it so work. This is true as of 2022
