What are my chances at getting the house I want? How can I increase my odds?

So I am aiming for an L-size house in Shirogane, the plot 30 one.

I've only been active in the game since one housing update and the all got filled up really fast at that time. I'm in a high population server.

If I am able to log in immediately after the servers come online, what my chances at getting the plot I want?

Also, does anyone have any tips or tricks on getting the plot I want?

I've been saving up for a long time to get an L-size. It's kind of my dream. If I'm not able to get one this time, I'll be pretty sad. :(

(And just to confirm, we purchase plots by clicking on the placard posted at the plot itself, right?)

Best chance is to be fast really. :c Log out by the main Aether Crystal in Kugane before servers go down. Be quick to log in and aim for subdivision, usually even number wards fill last. Pop sprint (and if you have peloton popped, it will help too) , go to the aetheryte to teleport closest to your plot and that's really it. For subdivision I think plot 30 is plot 60. Good luck!

I can't log out inside the housing ward itself?

Only at ward 1, I think as it's only one accessible at the moment, but chances are... a lot of other people will do it too and if you are not the first to pick the plot, you will have to spend time teleporting from the district to Kugane and from Kugane back to another ward which for high pop server might put you at a disadvantage. Depending on how fast people pick wards, personally I wouldn't risk it. :(

Hmm, actually, which is better? Logging out at the Kugane Crystal, or at the boat?

Or, perhaps logging out in Ward 1, and then taking the boat to another ward...

Personally I'd log out by the Crystal in Kugane but my server is not high pop. If you think there will be a crowd at the crystal and slow your log in down, the boat might be a better idea! :) I never thought about the boat!

Edit: Also forgot to add, put your status to busy! Someone may lock you in a trade and slow you down when you attempt purchasing a plot. I've hears such things happen on high pop servers!

Your chances of nabbing that particular plot are probably the lowest of all the large plots. Plot 30 in the primo plot that everyone's going to be going for. You'll likely have better luck going for 60, but it's going to be a blood bath getting any larges at this point. Leading up to this it feels like a huge chunk of the people aiming to both move and buy a house fresh are looking for a large and only 72 large plots will be added to the game. In addition to people that actually want the plot for use, you're competing against plot flippers. From a recent GM conversation, they will very much take action against people buying up the plots just to resell, thus far I have not seen them take any actions to substantiate this stance. Report it if you see it and cross your fingers I guess?

If you absolutely must have a house, keep lower sized alternative plots in mind as well. Best of luck. :)

Everyone is gunning for those plots, so don't be too disappointed if you don't get it. Maybe take a stroll around other areas to see what other larges may be available - even in Mist, Goblet and Lavender Beds too.

If you get the 3002/90000 lobby error once and you're on a med-high pop server, you're guaranteed a 98% failure rate. Every house on my server will be bought up in 5 minutes or less while SE absolutely does nothing and can care even less.

Experienced this last time they added houses in Patch 3.3.. got slapped multiple times by error while trying to get online. With some luck on my side, still managed to get small house to myself, but most of the plots were already taken by then.

Hoping to have better luck this time around, especially since I'd love to upgrade to medium sized house. We'll see how that goes tomorrow.

Keep in mind that this is based on experience from the last housing rush, which was quite a while ago (pre-heavensward, if I remember right. Remember Ishgardian housing? Me neither.)

Basically, hope for the best, but expect the worst. And enjoy SE continuing to completely ignoring the nightmare mess they created through laziness, stinginess, and poor design decisions.

Yeah I logged in 1 hour before maintenance and there were already a ton ofpeople camping around ward 1, the crystal, and the ferry skippers.

I was wondering though about the requirements they put on purchasing a house:

Would that count for just Shirogane housing or for the old areas as well? Since that MSQ is level 61 chances just got a little bigger grabbing a house I guess?

I don't remember which quest that is, unfortunately.

I'm not really sure why SE allowed the relocation thing though...
